  1. The Daily Update on H&H suggested that it won't matter what the SPFL board decide. Celtic won't give us any tickets and will just accept any resultant fine. If that is what happens then we should just cease any discussions with Celtic about the issue for the next few years as they can't be trusted to abide by rules or agreements.

  2. I keep seeing/hearing Rangers fans say we cut the allocation because it gave that lot an advantage. That's absolute nonsense! We cut their allocation in order to provide more season tickets to loyal Rangers supporters. Stop helping them peddle their crap.

  3. I don't think so: we were just really bad as we had a glorified Championship side.

  5. Similarly, my first visit to ra Pigsty would be circa 1967/68, we won 2-4. We had the Rangers end and a third of the Main Stand and a quarter of the Jungle. Ibrox reciprocated with the Celtic end and all of the west Enclosure plus a quarter of the Main Stand. Hampden was the neutral acre and was half and half. Season tickets have seen this sea change and it is most interesting that both broadcast and print media have completely supported the likes of Hearts, Hibs, St Mirren, ..... etc in their increasing decreasing of Rangers supporters allocations because of accommodation of own season ticketed support. Now, Rangers are utilising the same principles, lots of Journos cannot embrace because of their preferred prejudice.

  6. I have an issue with it. The reason we have this stupid split and 12 team league, play the same teams again and again is because TV wanted 4 OF games(and pay us peanuts for it) but also because the diddy teams wanted 2 home games v us a season to milk the blue cash cow. Now they have decided they don't want to milk the blue cash cow meanwhile we are stuck with this broken format. Its all rather pointless. I'd hope a 16 team league comes back on the agenda as the top 4 in the championship are pretty similar in quality to the bottom 8 of the SPFL. Perhaps teams would have a bit more freedom to blood in youth players. I seen a stat somewhere that there were little or no young players used in the SPFL last season. Leon King was one of the most used u-20 players in the league with about 10 games.

  7. Always the same. A rule is suggested to improve something abstract like youth development. By pure coincidence the rule ends up helping big clubs and hindering competitors. Various galaxy brained types are left scratching their heads for years to come. See youth teams in lower divisions also.

  8. We shouldn't be doing business with any organisation that has behaved the way they have towards multiple victims of child sexual assault, other than that which we have a legal obligation to.

  9. I really don't think so. It's based on their own fans complaining about both sets of OF support.

  10. Different topic and I agree 100%. However, clubs have the right to reduce allocations and look after their own fans. It's what we do, so we can't complain when it's reciprocated.

  11. Michael Stewart was speaking to BBC Scotland's Sean McGill. Last Saturday's 'Off the Ball' had two guests, Bobby Bluebell(Robert Hodgens) and Graeme McDowell are both Sellik supporters. Bobby penned a song once alongside his then girlfriend, Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama; 'Young at Heart' has ensured the Bluebells will continue as far as a Renault Clio will carry them. Graeme penned a book entitled, 'the System', we await Rosseau's review? Bobby utilised his position at the flowing trough to promote his fellow bandmates, the McLuskey brothers as they are doing the music for the revamped stage version of ra Sellik Story. He did not mention his Bassist, Lawrence Donegan; probably because Lawrence prefers a low profile these days. Lawrence is married to long term BBC Scotland Drivetime Presenter, Maggie Shiels. Lawrence left the music scene to become Sellik Director, Brian Wilson's Westminster Research Assistant when he was a junior Cabinet Minister. Maggie heads up Google News these days in between playing Poker. You can see the connections and influence that allows someone to sit of an evening staring at the Orwell Prize sitting on the mantlepiece. The Rangers Tax Case Blog was awarded the Orwell Prize and someone made it's in excess of one million impressions disappear over night. Indeed, RAB Cosgrove(username - Sarah Leyden) has demanded on a number of occasions that Rangers supporters forget all about the RTC Blog. Anyways, Lawrence pushed the preferred melody and Tam the Token and RAB were happy to harmonise with cries, "we need balance". It is like, 'we want to hear from Rangers supporters'; no they don't but feel they have to say it whilst extending the ridicule and fun. They had their weekly competition, if the answer is, 'tectonic plates', what is the question? Regular contributor, Tony Allen won with the following, "if the SPFL announced a new sponsorship deal with the earth's crust, who would Rangers claim to have a previous arrangement with - the answer tectonic plates". RAB, Tam, Bobby and, Graeme all gave exaggerated guffaws and Tony was rewarded with a BBC Scotland mug. The SPFL's Cinch deal which led to both Neil Doncaster and Murdoch McLennan apologising to Rangers and, the award of court expenses and compensation to Rangers charities needs a Lawrence Donegan-esque intervention. RAB and Tam are always telling us they detest the Blazers, here is the opportunity to press for redress and resignations. However, it reflects well on Rangers thus, on our first mention of the subject, we will broadcast misinformation and reinforce this by rewarding another, 'Good Friend of the Show'. Reporting news or re-reporting news otherwise more commonly known as revisionism is a BIG deal for RAB - he broadcasts a monthly blog on this very issue. As Blacksocksredtops says above, the national coefficient will only be news common currency if the Edinburgh clubs chip in appropriately. Both Hearts and Hibs progressed last evening and broadcast and print news outlets have been let off the leashes. BBC Scotland's website reveals Michael Stewart is a 'Sports Columnist', we await his fawning review of the System? I will remind Gersnetters of his comment on the Rangers - Cinch case, "we should be supporting Neil Doncaster and Murdoch MacLennan, these are the good guys here". It is just as well the former Sellik TV commentator speaks to BBC Scotland's Sean McGill to convey Peter's thoughts. The next ground to be fought over is the away ticket allocation for Old Firm fans. Sellik have knocked back Rangers offer of 700 briefs and, Rangers await the SPFL Board's decision on what Sellik offer for the New Year game? I suspect the Beeb should speak to Aberdeen's Alan Burrows. He announced a reduction in tickets available for Rangers traveling support whilst ensuring Sellik's allocation remained the same for last week's match. The taste of Peter's cheesy slong remains fresh in his mouth and, he knows PQ's fellow sycophants will support whatever he(Peter) says. Ah mean, Tom English has been a bad, bad Bhoy and PQ must show contrition.

  12. In my formative days we'd get an entire end of Parkhead and some of the Main Stand. Those were great days, a right of passage for every match going Rangers supporter. Times change however. The police have more power now (to much I'd say), season tickets dominate now and of course every Old Firm is televised live now. Probably the biggest change though is the two clubs do not get on at board level anymore. Having attended the 3-0 home victory at the end of last season I can't say I missed them, even though we horsed them and it would have been fun to have some captive to mock. I'm comfortable with no away fans while the games are televised. It's not the same as going to the game, but so much has changed about football over the years this just feels like another thing.

  15. Yes, but you could put Hagi in that bracket (he needs bedded back in) so it’s maybe more to do with Beale feeling that there are stronger options for his style/system I.e the players he’s brought in. Anyway, I agree and would like to see Hagi given a proper chance to prove himself again.

  16. It's all about opinions and mine is that Hagi is fundamentally a better talent than anyone he's currently competing with for a starting place. My only doubt was how he would come back from injury but there doesn't seem to be any problem there. I think it would be a disaster if he was sidelined.

  17. I see Brugge have been drawn against Osasuna in the Conference play-off. Not easy - I wouldn't like us to have an all or nothing tie against a La Liga club.

  18. A resounding no is the answer to that. We could play 3-5-2 though, if they are to stay, with the right and left CB's covering.

  19. On the flip side we got Bassey for buttons. Its about finding the right player not cost. Lets see how Sterling gets on this year, Tav wont go on forever.

  21. Just as an aside I think this 'home grown' status rule has led to the big clubs hoovering up all the best young talent. And driven up the price of young players. I don't think its a particularly effective rule and should be binned off.

  22. All the youngsters are 'home-grown' and U18/19 and therefore automatically available as they don't need to be registered (something along those lines I believe)

  23. We're asking them to insist that Celtic give us tickets. Rule i27 of the rules of the SPFL states: "The Home club must make provision for the admission of such reasonable number of visiting supporters at every home League Match and Play-Off Match as may be agreed in advance with the Visiting Club and, in the event of their being unable to agree such number not later than 14 days prior to the date of the League Match or Play-Off Match in question, the number of visiting supporters allowed shall be determined by the Board whose decision shall be final and binding."

  24. What Celtic will get is the same as every other visiting club. What Celtic chose to decline is their own business. Bisgrove knows giving them the entire Broomloan stand will cause an uproar to make his Sydney fuck up look like a mild complaint.

  25. My ideal front 3 for this game would be Dessers, Roofe and Hagi, but there are arguments for/against all the attacking players

  26. I don't like 3 at the back, never have and never will. Not to say it wouldn't be successful but it feels more like 5 at back rather than back 3. Otherwise your team looks good

  27. We've had a fullback problem for a while now but looming on the horizon is a full blown fullback crisis. These two positions are our next priority and it's inconceivable we will approach next season with the two present incumbents in place. I expect the Barisic issue to be addressed in January.

  28. It's pure conjecture on my part, I've no inside information or anything. I don't think football can or will continue in it's current form. The financial gulf between a handful of clubs and everyone else is growing. So either the bubble bursts, and there's no sign of that happening, or the structure changes. The changes to the Champion's League coming next season (I think?) are the start of a proper European League, and a sop to the clubs who looked at breaking away to form a Super League a year or so ago. The rich and powerful clubs want change and they usually get what they want in the end. It also wouldn't be a huge surprise if Saudi sides started looking for a bit of international club football. Look what happened in golf, they are wealthy enough to do almost anything. There's a turf war between UEFA and FIFA too. Perhaps a Saudi funded international club competition might get FIFA backing, as long as the right people are looked after. Whatever happens it's not sustainable for us to remain playing in Scotland. On the opening day of the season Celtic played Ross County. County's entire turnover is less than the Celtic manager's annual salary. How can they compete? It simply leads to negative football where clubs play for a draw at best and no one wants to watch that. We're not alone, around 10 leagues in Europe face similar issues and they all have a vote at UEFA and FIFA. A change to the league set up is inevitable I feel, and I think it'll come sooner rather than later.
