  1. I agree with you, he did have limited ability and his particular limit was definitely a bit short of what we need. Personally I think it was the right decision to trim the squad and let him go. Hopefully, others will follow. That said, he did have in abundance some other qualities that supporters crave from their team. Whatever else he lacked, he did have endless enthusiasm and he had genuine endeavour. He had real character and once in a while he would do something beautiful.

  5. BBC have announced they'll be showing the away leg on 15th August. The commentary and analysis will undoubtedly be questionable but at least it isn't on f*cking Viaplay.

  6. PSV vs Sturm Graz is on TNT Sports 1 at 19:30 this evening, for anyone interested.

  7. Yeah, a helpful player in that regard, but the received wisdom seems to be that he didn't fancy another season of Scottish hammer throwing, and Scottish refereeing. Thus, he would have been more the conscript than the volunteer.

  8. That's kind of heart breaking tbh. Good luck to the guy. Seems like one of the good guys.

  13. You are in luck, Nicola's speeches have been recovered and are available on supermarket's aisle. The company providing this service is called, 'Andrex'.

  14. KevinThomson reading the speeches of Nicola Sturgeon would be the gift for insomniacs. 22 copies of the lectures are available, in hardback form, somewhere in and among the Scottish Administration/ SNP starship control.

  16. That was then. This is an almost entirely new midfield and forward line that has little pace or cohesion and a defense that leaks goals with 2 fullbacks who have run out of steam who are integral to the way we play.

  17. 'Heartbreaking' is just the right word. I was almost in tears.

  18. I'm not really looking for much from tomorrow except some signs of life. I'm not so fussed about names on the teamsheet so long as the bodies on the park can play as a team and show some kind of cohesion. Play with a bit of tempo, cut out the stupid mistakes. At the very least please give us some straws to grasp at. I'm less concerned about a 2 leg game v Servette or a PSV (if we make it) than I am about an away day v Killie or St Johnstone. I'd be comfortable thinking if we didn't get a result tomorrow that we could go to Switzerland in a high pressure European game and manage to produce something. Its this bizarre paradox that this squad have shown under a few managers now and likely a mentality thing. You cant sh*t the bed away to Ross county but beat Dortmund in their own stadium and lack quality. We seem to excel in the Europeans arena but live within ourselves domestically (see us get knocked out now I've said that).

  19. Sakala Morelos Colak Tillman. Add up the goals they scored between them last season, and excluding Tav it’s our top 4 scorers I believe. It’s a lot of goals to leave and of those brought in are any of them likely to score more than what has left? Im fairly sure the best striker at the club is now Roofe.

  21. Talking up CL qualification after being humiliated several times, whilst in it, is like going on about beating Celtc in the 2016 Scottish Cup semi-final. Unbecoming of a Rangers man.

  22. Yes, though maybe he meant in qualifying for the CL , otherwise we're screwed.

  23. This is not grounds for optimism (since when was that on a Presbyterian's agenda?), but I am advised by the betting fraternity, which tends to pay close attention to such things, that our record against Swiss opposition is less than fabulous: P8 W2 D3 L3 F 8 A 11 Don't shoot a crossbow at the messenger.

  27. Tillman has gone, get over it. He was good in a poor team when he could be interested. He was brutally anonymous when he couldn't be bothered, which was too often. If he does return to Ibrox with PSV I hope we kick lumps off him.

  29. Me too. Especially as there is no one who can replicate his role. Sima hasn't convinced yet and and anyway he is on loan.

  30. It seems like he was forced to leave. Im sure Sakala wanted to stay and fight for his place. I'm gutted.

  31. Lopetegui, apparently, is leaving The Wolves. They were after Beale last year. He is second in the betting to replace the Spaniard, I'm told (but haven't checked). If...... Potter and Bluenose Reid for Ibrox...

  33. Who is pining after players? I speculated, wildly, I concede, on whether we could have worked a financially more beneficial deal by signing him and doing a back to back with PSV. Now we have Lammers, of course, who has much to prove. My initial thoughts are that he has no pace, and lacks strength, and attitude. Good feet, mind, so might be a great 5 a side player, with a proper referee.

  34. I hate it. There are some I wish had stayed but once they're gone, they're long gone. Some not far enough.

  35. With the uninspiring start we've had, I can see the crowd being fairly subdued tomorrow evening and if the team doesn't give them something to believe in early on it could be just a tetchy Ibrox and just what Servette need. A repeat of what was served up against Kilmarnock and there will be some very unhappy bears.

  36. Just hope Mr Beale knows what he’s doing let Sakala, Morelos & Colak leave & replacing them with players who have been totally unconvincing so far

  37. After Saturday's performance, I don't think we have to worry about Tillman. Servette are a counter attacking team. They were reduced to ten men after the fifth minute of the game in Belgium and, did NOT change their game plan. Our ponderous build up play while in possession will suit the Swiss. Out of possession, our narrow structure will equally suit them, their favourite switch ball is the long diagonal into the opposition's left back position. Well Fcuking Depressed Loyal RSC.

  38. What you state is correct Idisi, but we are Rangers and it is up to us to break them down using our much better funded squad. You cannot really blame McInnes for playing "anti football" if he succeeds against a team including single players who are worth more than his entire team. He is only using his nous as a football manager to allow his team to achieve a result. And keeping himself in a job.

  42. I'm pretty calm about it. Absolutely nothing to be getting excited about that's for sure. Yes I keep it simple. You can call it a knee jerk reaction. I suppose it comes down to interpretation. I've had 8/9 months to watch plenty of games and come to a conclusion. It seems that is not enough time to judge in your opinion and that's fine. This is a forum for airing opinons.
