  1. In 6 months we've added, Raskin, Cantwell, Butland, Sterling, Lammers, Sima, Dessers, Butland, Dowell and Balogun - Cifuentes and Danilo to come. Add to that the return of Hagi and Lawrence and we approach the new season with no fewer than 14 new players. It's bold work by Beale and the Board and it's long overdue. For good or ill I think we can finally say we've moved on.

  4. Good point. While he is pretending to be Dutch we can all pretend he's not rubbish.

  5. I wouldn't be so quick to move Lundstram. We'll need players to rotate. Lundstram knows our game and will come handy IMO. Too many of the conversations on who we should retain/let go seem predicated on a perfect starting XI that will play 38 games without an injury. That's not football.

  6. Two Butlands, to follow two Andy Gorams. If only they are half as good. You do the math.

  8. We will regret this five year deal when it is time to pay him off.

  9. Couple of reliable (?) Dutch sites saying it's done. Was skeptical about the signing but inevitably looking forward to seeing him now ha!

  10. If it's any consolation, what's posted on a football forum has absolutely no bearing on what happens out there in the real world.

  11. At this moment, I would like to point at the OP 😎

  12. Aye it's been over a year now to reflect on that season and really, it should've been an all timer: League, SFA Cup and UEL. Especially when you look at the manner of our points dropped, the 5 sub rule and just the general quality of the spfl. It's been said before but if Morelos and Roofe are fit from February through to May we probably win a treble. Or even if Gio let Sakala out of the basement.

  13. ... some might argue, that we (again) threw it away.

  14. Nah, I'd happily take any fee for Lundstram. He's too slow and his first touch is woeful.

  15. BREAKING: Rangers finalizing deal to sign Ecuador int'l Jose Cifuentes from LAFC. Rangers had agreed pre-contract agreement to sign him in Jan. but will pay a fee to bring him now. Cifuentes, 24, won MLS Cup & Supporters' Shield w/ LAFC w/ @JordanC1107

  16. Missed a trick not getting the away top sponsored by Aquafresh. Bisgrove is normally on top of that kind of thing.

  17. I reckon we'll go with a front three most of the time (similar to Gerrard's one up front, with one either side).

  18. Quite a few actually. We knew Kent and Morelos so that frees up a nice chunk of change. McGregor, Zukowski, Arfield, Mayo, Colak, Helander, then Tillman's loan ended. I think they are on pace...9 out..8 in with Cifuentes? Kamara, Hagi, S. Wright, McLaughlin, Lundstram, Roofe, and Barisic should be considered as well.

  19. European football is bonus money to us it's essential these days that we go as far as possible and earn much needed money in my book failure will be unacceptable.

  20. How many have we managed to offload and reduce the wage bill.

  21. Still think a LCB is a bigger priority than Cifuentes or Danilo to be honest, look at our goals conceded last season. Still time of course.

  22. Aberdeen cannot even fill all their seats under the previous arrangement therefore they will have even more empty seats and lost revenue.

  23. I can see the governing bodies stepping in to this with some kind of ruling telling clubs how many tickets the visiting fans receive

  24. This is in no doubt them pressuring diddy teams to cut us out because we wont give them the broomloan. No coincidence IMO.

  25. You're killing my insides with the "grown up" comment, let me be a child with my money once a year. I do kind of want you to get rolling down the hill on white socks though, I don't see the issue but I do like a good rant about something. I just looked up the Dresden kit and I agree that its a really good one.

  26. Before anyone gets carried away, it's worth considering we have two weeks to get from what we've seen so far from an experimental team of newbies that hasn't won a single competitive game, to a team capable of beating the teams that finished second in the Belgian league and second in the Swiss league. We should be able to go through, it's whether (as always) the challenge comes too soon for a rebuilt squad with no experience playing together. On Wednesday against Olympiacos, we need to start fielding something like our presumed best team and kick into touch the "minutes for everyone" approach.
