SerieA had a representative in all 3 European Finals (all lost) and Napoli were an outstanding team as we witnessed to our cost in the CL. I'd say it's the best / strongest it's been for a few years.5 points

Ferguson never impressed me that much when he was at Aberdeen. He didn't represent good value for money, but the fact that he seems to be flourishing in Italy suggests that I either missed his good games or I'm not as good a judge of a player as I thought I was. Probably a bit of both.3 points

I think I've got this. Sam Lammers uncle was correct. Rembrant was a very amateurish painter who tried to make a living from The Dutch Masters past reputation. In 2019, the Dutch FA commemorated the 350th anniversary of the real Rembrandt's death by introducing a special football to be used in all League games. The ball portrayed images of the great man and a selection of his famous works. Now. Rembrandt was also the common nickname given to Johan Cruyff, the legendary Dutch footballer of Ajax due to his footballing artistry. Cruyff, by choice, also favoured the No 14 on the back of his shirts. Many Dutch players since have also favoured the No 14 shirt. One such example is our own Ronald de Boer who wore the number with pride on his Rangers shirt and thrilled us all with his artistry and goals aplenty. A new Dutch signing now awaits his opportunity to delight us . His name? Sam Lammers. His number? 14. Well I'll be a Dutchman's uncle. 😬3 points

Any idea when we go back to pre-season training? I know Beale was wanting most of his transfer work done for day 1, it is usually towards the end of June is it not? While I don’t know any of the players we have signed, I am very pleased that now we’ve got rid of the useless Wilson, we no longer take months to close a deal and we have captured a few of our targets early. As with all new signings I don’t know, I don’t care to read their stats or YouTube clips, I wait to watch them in proper action (not friendlies!) to assess them so I wish the newbies well and look forward to our first proper game to see them. Hopefully we are able to strengthen some key areas further and sell a lot of the players deemed unrequired by MB.2 points

I'm not criticising Greig; I'm having a pop at fans nowadays.2 points

He did well in Europe, so I'd suggest his level is higher than Scotland. It's not as high as we think it is, though.2 points

A considerable honour for a considerable man.2 points

I saw Ham and Egg play in goals for Rangers. I saw him play centre forward for Rangers, an entire second half against Hearts at Ibrox when we were already 0-2 down. He scored but could not secure the equaliser. I saw him play right wing for a half hour at Fir Park in the days of one substitution, still bawling whilst hobbling. I saw him play right across the midfield in the two dozen games or more where he man marked Jimmy Johnstone. He knocked me off the enclosure wall in 1966 whilst playing Dortmund. A Greig clearance hit my nine year old napper. I hold no grudges and remember very little of the game. When he took the Manager's Office, his first season was a revelation for the Rangers support. We knocked out both Juventus and PSV in the European Cup, playing Sandy Jardine as Sweeper. Sandy swept both in front and back of the back four. He was Sammer before Sammer. An injury ravaged Rangers and an appalling winter did for us in the quarters against Cologne and, the mercurial Littbarski had a say too. I remember Brian Clough after having defeated Malmo in the final thanking Rangers and John Greig for doing the majority of the heavy lifting. He is most worthy of his award.2 points

An enjoyable article from the Daily Record. 😀 "Rangers are set to enter the Champions League at the third qualifying round stage Serbian side FK TSC rarely get to play on the big stage in Europe - so when they do, president Janos Zemberi looks out for the big clubs. Namely for him, that means Rangers. TSC have naturally finished behind giant duo Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade throughout their history, though last season sprung up a surprise when they finished second in the league - which was enough to allow for qualification to the Champions League third qualifying round. It’s not often they qualify for Europe at all; only twice have the Serbian minnows played in any European game, beating Moldovan side Petrocub Hincesti before losing on penalties to Steaua Bucharest in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League back in 2020-21. Now, with the chance to face some of Europe’s elite, the club must enjoy the result regardless of a famous win or heavy defeat. And, with the draw set to take place at the end of July, president Zemberi has named his ideal opponent - citing Rangers as the team he wishes to face. He said: "If I could choose my dream opponents in the draw, it would be to play against Rangers. "My good friend Gordan Petric used to play there and I like everything that Rangers stand for and the values they have. I am a fan of the club and Glasgow is a nice city. "Rangers are stronger than Marseille, PSV Eindhoven or Braga, who we could also play. But with a few reinforcements and the motivation we have, I am confident we would have a chance. "And let's not forget Celtic have faltered many times at this stage of the competition, so who knows, maybe we can create a surprise. Look, we have a budget that's ten times smaller than Red Star Belgrade and five times smaller than Partizan Belgrade, so we are used to playing teams with far greater budgets than us. "So all our potential rivals will be bigger and have tradition and experience on their side. But we won't give up against anyone."" Good luck to TSC if we avoid them in the draw.2 points

I saw one of his early games, must have been the season after the famous tour of Russia. This yong boy came running out of the tunnel behind Caldow, Shearer, Millar and McKinnon. He bossed the kick about. Commander, indeed.2 points

It was obvious some of our fans just couldn't see past the Aberdeen connection. That's how petty it gets. He could well be the best domestic player to slip through our fingers in years.2 points

I was at a Q&A run by my local RSC and Ian Durrant and Derek Ferguson were the guests. Both spoke brilliantly and passionately about their times at Rangers. Derek mentioned Lewis and said Rangers never enquired (Celtic did but he'd never condsider joining them) and he is loving his time abroad. Said Rangers would be only team he'd return to Scotland for but would also like a crack at EPL. We missed a trick in my opinion, but we move on.2 points

Yes in those days it was about football and not money, players playing for the love of the game made for more competitive games.1 point

Geordie Young won six in sixteen. Most of the time Greig was a player, celtic weren’t the only opposition. Motherwell, Hibs, Dunfermline, Dundee and Kilmarnock were all competitive.1 point

He also has a strange hairstyle and runs a bit funny. I heard he wears terrible footwear too. The 'what if' gang are a bit highly strung.1 point

So there we have it - the truth laid bare before us - Lewis Ferguson isn’t good enough for Rangers, he has the wrong relatives and any hacker could flourish in Italian football. There’s nothing like blind prejudice for removing doubt.😂1 point

'You lot' just means anyone who disagrees with me. ie. Thickos, idiots, muppets, cucks, quislings and dafties. I won't denigrate you though, I'm above that sort of thing.1 point

I must admit I'm coming round to that conclusion myself. I've tried to see the value of it but nothing obvious comes to mind. However, I don't agree with you on the women's team. I probably would have a couple of years ago but times have changed and are going to keep changing. I feel Rangers needs to be on board with the women's game.1 point

What a weird comment. You do know that Sam Lammars uncle once stated that Rembrant was an amateur and Johan Cruyff was overrated. Get him to f**k based on your logic.1 point
