VISIT RANGERS.CO.UK | VIEW THIS EMAIL ONLINE Rangers supporters have once again shown their incredible loyalty, with season ticket renewals for the 2023/24 season already having smashed through the 40,000 barrier. It is a phenomenal show of strength ahead of Monday’s deadline, with the club well on-target to match last season’s record sales figure. Incoming Chief Executive, James Bisgrove, commented: “Everyone at the club is incredibly grateful to our season-ticket holders for once again showing their tremendous loyalty to the cause and renewing in such strong numbers before the deadline. “We are all aware of how times are tough for so many at the moment, and to be in this position already, with that backdrop, highlights just how passionate Rangers supporters are about their club. “This has been a period of transformation at the club, and this will continue onto the product on the pitch as, together with our manager - Michael Beale, we’re actively involved in the recruitment for new players, as we aim to strengthen ahead of what this board believe will be a very exciting new season for us.” Choose mailing list preferences OR unsubscribe You are receiving this message as you subscribed to the Official Rangers Newsletter or registered on one of the Club's sites or apps. I'd say the rebuild started with Todd Cantwell and the good thing is, him and Raskin have been two of our best players since January. Small acorns and all that.4 points
-
If we want to achieve anything he will still need to be our manager this time next season. The summer might start a rebuild but it sure as hell won’t finish it.4 points

We can use such rhetoric to unnerve several members of the opposition. Utilise the screens prematch and during to flash the code words : 'TORA TORA TORA'.4 points

We seem to be assembling a squad to play in a league that we don't play in - the EFL Championship. And your Dowells and Karlan Grants are not playing for promotion-chasing teams. Don't like where this is going; I want to qualify for the Champions League.4 points

Impressive going - hopefully those supporters will have something to cheer tomorrow and next season.3 points

I wouldn't go there either. We did well enough out of him right enough but there were also many games when it was hard to know if he was on the pitch or not. I'm not hugely surprised at what's happened to him at Southampton.3 points

I think this game matters more to Beale than it does to any of the players. Since coming in he beats everybody apart from one blip at Dolly, but (if a victory is not forthcoming) he cant beat a really bang average timmy team in 5 attempts including 2 at Ibrox and 2 at Hampden then it damages him greatly in the eyes of many. That said, we could win 5-0 tomorrow and it will just be even more frustrating that we couldnt do it in the cup games that really mattered, we only win a dead rubber match so he really cant win. Lose 3-0 tomorrow and we can blame the lack of forwards, a squad on the way out etc but it will still be hanging over MB that he doesnt have what it takes to win the big games. No matter the result tomorrow I think we all agree Beale stays until at least the Autumn, and as he is in full control of the ins and outs this summer and he certainly has mapped out what he wants to get done so he will he judged more on 1 September than 13 May. If we have moved on a lot of deadwood, recruited well, started the season well including winning the first OF game at Ibrox, qualified for the CL then this period will be painful history and he will be fully accepted and I and many others will be apologising to him and delighted to be wrong about him. Fail and he will be dead man walking and wont see Christmas and I will be gutted to be proven right.3 points

I doubt a win in Saturday would make them think that. Whereas a win would take the monkey off not winning off Beale's back, including some of the pressure from the "Beale out" fans, plus sew doubts and knock the confidence of the celtic players. We don't want them going into next season with the winning mentality that they've had this season, ad it tends to be self-perpetuating, as we found during NIAR.3 points

I'm pretty sure they will get bonuses for staying in the prem, qualifying for Europe, finishing in the top 4, getting to cup quarter-finals etc as well, so to an extent it will go both ways but with the huge drop off in revenue for the club, I don't think they have a choice but to put those cluases in players contracts. I think the best example is somebody like Jack Rodwell, who refused to leave Sunderland when they were relegated from the prem because he couldn't get the same wage elsewhere. Sunderland got relegated again but he was still on £70k+ while they were in League 1 and eventually just ran his contract down Ironically, the MD/DOF equivalent at Sunderland at the time....... I could go with Lundstram too but Jack is simply the better player so if he's available he should always be first choice, especially in a deeper role where passing and not being rushed in possession is vital. Further forward, we've been plagued by lone forwards being isolated and starved of opportunities, reducing us effectively to ten men, so I'd prefer to see us cut out some of the long crosses and focus more on dominating space through the middle and fullbacks focussing on defensive duties against a team that won't come to Ibrox to sit in.2 points

As usual, we'll be live tonight to preview the game in full. @Fat Eck will be joined by @Stewart Weir to discuss that starting XI, if an Old Firm game can ever be called a dead rubber and various other sporting parlance merriment. Live at 9pm here: https://youtube.com/gersnetpodcast2 points

Agree compo but if we start the match on the front foot then please score a goddam goal.2 points

I kinda clowned earlier in the thread but it looks like Rangers are actually signing this guy. This cat seriously scares me. Pretty serious medical issues. Loan to Wigan-torn hamstring three months--recalled to Chelsea--and 12 month 'mystery illness' that saw him out of football for 18 months. Loan to Blackpool-ankle ligament tear--recalled to Chelsea Loan Stoke--out first nine weeks with a groin, pull, tear? I appreciate that players are expensive and hard to acquire...but2 points

Whatever the team it should be , attack . attack attack from the first minute2 points

Neither did Aribo. Neither did Bassey. The EFL championship is vastly superior to the SPFL Players who are established in that league should have no problem in the SPFL. We have to spend our money better. That means getting signings which are less risky. Getting to the CL group stages will be very difficult to do via CLQs regardless of who we sign given our budget2 points

I wouldn’t read Elfideldo’s reports. He tells what happened on the pitch, describes scoring moves in detail and assesses players’ performances. Nothing about the players’ favourite group or what cars they drive or where they’re going for their holidays with their girl friends. That’s real football reporting. None of the boring left-footed-shot-from-the-edge-of-the-box stuff.2 points

You do understand that just because a player doesnt get injuries makes him no less of a safe bet than a player who has had injuries, right ? They may not suit the style of football - in that regard Sterling is in British football so knows the physical rigours, whilst Palma is in Greek football and we have no idea if he can handle the physicality of the game. I would also argue defenders (Sterling) run a larger risk of injury than attacking players (Palma) - though could easily be proved wrong on this1 point

Cantwell seems to be booked in every match he starts. I've a feeling tomorrow could be a red for him.1 point

It's an error in the pitch side of the graphic - McCrorie will play as confirmed by the manager. I wouldn't play Morelos either but the manager's words today suggested he may well be used. As for Jack, that depends on his fitness but Lundstram has been good in the last two games so I'd stick with him for now. I'd be happy enough with Arfield somewhere in the team but, like many that are available (Matondo, Wright, Sakala and Hagi) you just don't know what you're going to get. All are clearly capable on occasion but not often enough unfortunately.1 point
-
No and I wouldnt want him back either. After 1 year in the championship if he does well he could end up at a bottom 6 side for megabucks.1 point
-
Be good to see Jack and McCrorie both start. Will he play Morelos after last week's outburst?1 point
-
Main takeaways: - Davies and Kent out - Jack fit and available - Morelos ready to play - McCrorie will start1 point

You make your points with clarity and common sense; however, we should be qualifying for the CL every season. That must be our aim. Aribo and Bassey, granted, are great examples of who we should be recruiting; I'm dubious that Dowell and Sterling are in that league. BTW Aribo has sunk without trace at relegated Southampton - not sure what that tells us.1 point
