I agree. However, 29 Euro goals is a considerable contribution and extremely difficult to replace. Further, he has been targeted by the usual suspects. BBC Scotland's behaviour has been disgraceful. Constant appeals to the Compliance Officer by both Sportsound and Sportscene. I think eight red cards and four rescinded. Then five convictions for opposition supporters throwing coins, hot and cold iced drinks and, lighters and vapes. My favourite was in the month where Rangers visited both Pittodrie and Easter Road three seasons past. The Dandy Dons held a banner in Spanish proclaiming Alfie's Mother to be a mattress. At Easter Road, Irvine Welsh on Hibs TV wanted Alfie macheted into thin strips and fed to seagulls. Both incidents did not receive punishment, they were drowned out by the sniggers of the usual suspects. It is a baby and bath water situation. Often, he is his own worst enemy but, he has made an important contribution.5 points

Agree on all points. But at the same time some sending offs of his own making. Supposedly playing through an injury at Dundee he didn't want to let our medical team know the full extent of so he could go away with Colombia, resulting in him missing our crucial euro run in (and i still reckon if he played in that final we win it), the infamous returning late from international duty so we had to play Sidiq v Aberdeen at Hampden, returning late from international duty for a Scottish cup quarter final at Tynecastle in 2020 which we ended up playing Greg Stewart up front instead. Returning from copa america after we struggled in Malmo. Falling out with our manager before a massive CL qualifier. Coming back a game later and getting sent off putting us down to 9 men at Easter road in a game which we dropped points. There are just too many problems to mention of Alfredos making that real professionals dont give you. Its a balance with a Morelos, a Gascoigne or a Cousin. You've got to know when the ROI is of value. For Morelos I'm afraid that value is no longer worth the drama.4 points

Hopefully lesson learned from LCFinal. Compete from first whistle.3 points

I get the impression the majority of people at Ibrox want to sit in silence, with an occasional moan or groan to keep them awake. Having said that, the monotonous chants and that God awful drum can be quite irritating. Ultra style activities will never catch on in a big way with the Rangers support.2 points

It's ridiculous still playing international football when his club appearances are being rationed.2 points

I see Jack is in the Scotland squad.2 points

When Alfie goes in the summer we need to replace him with a similar type off player. Great post. All of these actions were as a result of their fear of his talent. They wanted him gone and attempted to hound him out. When Alfie goes in the summer we need to replace him with a similar style of player. That won't be easy.2 points

We need to stop fearing them and get in amongst them from the first minute2 points

Yeah, but our right back isn’t far behind him in terms of goals and the league quality is absolutely crap. Honestly, it should have been so much more. When he leaves I won’t feel any great regret.2 points

Ahead of Friday's Youth Cup Semi Final against Hamilton Accies. I've had a look back at two previous ties between the clubs. https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2023/03/13/hamilton-accies-youth-cup-history/2 points

I agree, but at least they are attempting to improve the match day experience (in their eyes anyway). I don't think any Rangers fan would decry their (and TBO before them) giant TIFO displays. I'm sure they'd welcome new members who'll bring new ideas etc. As for the drum, not sure if it's an upgrade on the wee brass band that sat behind TBO - now they were irritating......1 point

Anarchists - hahaha As for singing - ibrox is a poorer place without them as Sunday showed. I was in the very back row of the BR and could hear the players shouting at each other. If you don't like what they sing, start your own songs But any excuse to post the below and my favourite Blue Order 2-stick banner was their Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Blue Order Also remember an attempt to get a chant going to Anarchy In UK tune- first line was I am a Rangers fan (can't remember the rest).1 point

I remember that so clearly too. The reaction of the Murrayites was as disgusting as it was predictable. Where are they now ..... still branding committed Rangers fans as "timmish"?1 point

Ah well it could be the end of his season and Gers contract as he will no doubt come back injured.1 point

I for one do not see the other mob as far ahead of The Famous Glasgow Rangers. Got at the bams and show them it's our cup.1 point

Don’t you mean “scores one of the goals in a comfortable victory”?1 point

I'm a little surprised there's so much debate about Morelos. The truth is he left Rangers a long time ago. I've moved on, he's no longer of much interest to me.1 point
-
They are factored in, Morelos doesn't have the technique to take them it appears, Tav does. I won't particularly miss his European contributions because his domestic form was often found wanting. Let's face it, he had some mega purple patches in his time here, but too often he's shown a lack of motivation, and a lack of respect for the club.1 point

Best to play them now. A semi-final defeat is never as sickening as losing in the final. With a change of luck, Rangers beat them and we can all relax at the Cup Final and cheer the team to a comfortable victory over Falkirk. (Ancient tribalism demands that the jammy caley creep no further in this competition)1 point

Our right back also has, what, 50 penalties ? Those need to at least be factored in1 point

I miss him already because its been absent this season and half of last. We must adapt and move on.1 point

To me, yes, I know I don't have to look at the display of them but from where I sit I can't help but see them.1 point

Were the UB protest banners against the spivs a pain in the a**e?1 point
-
Tifo displays are great but protest banners are a pain in the a**e IMHO.1 point
-
It could be, but why now? The UBs as early as 2017 have displayed anti-police banners at Ibrox with no action from Rangers or Police Scotland. If it was the straw that broke the camels back, the board may have gotten more support if they had said this rather than saying it was the banner that was the issue.1 point
-
Maybe it's a reaction to the Green Brigade posting personal details of police online? Maybe it's a reaction to the anti-board banners? Maybe it's other recent UB behaviour? Maybe the banner is the straw that broke the camel's back? Can't say I look on anti-police banners with any enthusiasm.1 point

Wilson needs to be more ruthless in moving players on for decent money, even if some fans are up in arms. In Morelos' case, every time we got a rumour of a move there were numerous posts saying he was too important to us and the bid wasn't high enough, etc. We've now missed the boat to cash in. Fortunately, he only cost £1M; we've certainly got our money's worth.1 point

Obviously the sponsors choose who they want to speak to and not the best player, happens regularly.1 point
