We definitely need to get rid of the serial underperformers to release funds for people who are up for the fight.5 points

My report on today's game https://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2023/03/07/glasgow-cup-deafeat/4 points

Just noticed that 5 years ago today we launched the Gersnet Podcast on YouTube! Plenty ups and downs over that period with lots more to come I'm sure. We also just passed the 6K subscriber mark last week and nearing 1 million views. Thanks to all for your support!3 points

That's a strong team; should be an easy three poi-- BURN THE ACADEMY DOWN!!3 points

I'm not sure Pedro even knew he was making mistakes, which is maybe why he never seemed to learn from them.2 points

For those interested in such stuff, here's a wee line graph of our YouTube viewing figures over those five years. Some not bad channel growth over the years with us online to break 500K views alone in 2023.2 points

To an extent but it was also Gio's tactics. I doubt we'd have dropped points in these games if Gerrard was in charge.2 points

The only way out of the OF financial deficit is to have a better manager than they have. That was easy when Lennon was there and 55 duly appeared. As soon as Postecoglou appeared and we appointed GvB the advantages Gerrard had enjoyed just evaporated. I guess that's why Beale's bizarre approach to the cup final team selection last week has had such a numbing effect.2 points

We’re watching the carcass of the 55 squad rot and fester in front of our eyes. Far too many under achievers that we held on to for far too long. No point in picking over the bones but it rips my gut that those in charge can’t see what’s in front of their eyes. Malmö for me was the watershed moment when I realised that we were in trouble. Laid bare that our squad was inadequate for the challenges ahead. Astounding that after two years were still in the same place.2 points

Folks, I spent a fair bit of time writing this article and whilst it's generally simplistic stuff just to provoke a wee bit of debate, I'd rather the thread wasn't spoiled with inane mischief-making. If you have a point, please make it in good time and desist from the personal crap. Thanks!2 points

I'd be more impressed with the article if it was written before the cup final. It's easy to have a go when the club is down and some fans are having a hysterical reaction.2 points

It would appear that BBC Scotland will have to find another Rangers spokesman. As of today, the Athletic have announced they will no longer cover matters Rangers. The Athletic has decided Wrexham are a better fit as to their future. Jordan Campbell was the Rangers correspondent, now he covers Arsenal. Of course, PQ and Chris could decide to utilise St Mirren Chairman, John Needham as their next Rangers spokesman. He is in the news today because he took to Twitter to like a post from a Sellik minded Journo who states, 'Sunday's VAR was controlled by Referee, Andrew Dallas from inside his Orange Lodge". This follows Needham's Twitter expression of two years past on Rangers achieving 55, "I note Rangers supporters celebrating by performing the Bouncy on the Squity bridge, hopefully the bridge collapses into the Clyde with them on it". John Needham has all the credentials demanded by PQ to be a Rangers man.1 point

According to the Transfermarkt site Rangers have a squad of 32 players worth a total of 136.45 million euro while the other mob have a squad of 26 players worth a total of 104.6 million euro. Their info may not be exactly correct, but unless it is wildy off it points to poor transfer business in & out imo.1 point

This, of course, is by no means a justification, its a problem in itself...1 point

bare in mind we have a higher quantity of players in the first team squad earning first team wages...1 point

Better sell-on value, too. I'd go full moneyball. Toulouse are doing that now to good effect. (That's just me, though...)1 point

I've said this before on here but the Bosman market and English market is expensive wages wise. The fact we seem to focus pretty much all our transfer activity there will be a big part of it. When you can bring in players from the likes of Japan, Israel and lower tier leagues they will demand far less in wages.1 point

No doubt it hit his arm but I didn't feel in was in an unnatural position when he was running at space and vying physically for the ball. The rules are the rules but it's a nonsense IMO.1 point

Listening to the heart and hand podcast last night Andy McGowan said we have a higher playing staff wage bill than they do. If true we can’t complain about finances.1 point

I don’t think the issues with this bunch has ever been a lack of quality since they proved it with 55. The fact we dropped points at pittodrie and Dingwall shortly before pumping Dortmund in the westfalen points towards attitude. It’s the same lack of winning attitude that was likely behind last weekends non performance.1 point

Some have been saying the same thing for a while. An objective analysis in the cold light of day (before or after) doesn't look good.1 point

I’ll get my scrapbook out to see if it makes me feel better……. I very much doubt it though.1 point

Absolutely. I bemoaned the fact it took us so long to get Cantwell and Raskin in on here at the time and look how it impacted us last week. We should be talking to clubs and players now. Not waiting till summer.1 point

In my opinion there’s been a gross over reaction to the cup final defeat. You’d have thought we’d been humped 5-0 or something but the Scottish media always like to try & create a Rangers crisis And FWIW I thought MB was correct not starting Raskin & Cantwell in the final. Both lacked recent game time before joining Rangers. I do believe we need to wait until we see who goes & who comes in this summer before we start to assess MB.1 point

Some of our fans have been in that pretend world for quite a time now we are no longer the Rangers of old1 point

I think it’s far far too early to say if the Beale appointment was lazy. In fact, I’d say aside from the cup final defeat, he’s done a decent job turning round the squad. Mistakes have been made, and there is much to improve, but a lot of criticism is because Celtic have been relentless, rather than because we’ve been poor.1 point
