  5. The 1986 final was magical as it was Souness's first trophy at the club, plus Mo (who we all hated back then) got sent off. The 87 final was incredible as it was a 3-3 draw with us winning on pens....plus THAT freekick. The 88 final, 3-2 with a late goal from Super was a great end to a trilogy of great finals. Being behind the goals in sections H/J back then was incredible. It's a shame that the youth of today will never experience anything like it.

  7. I'd just like to state I'm still sticking to my 'never going back to Hampden' guns. You can (hopefully) thank me on Sunday evening.

  9. And so they continue to ramp up the pressure on the officials. Why say nothing about huge celtic fans Frank Connor (plenty of previous of cheating against us) and Kevin Clancy who are also part of the officials and are so so much worse than Beaton & (celtic supporting) Walsh. I would like to think that these officials all take themselves off social media and dont read papers and listen to phone-ins for the week leading up to a big final like this as only then can they truly believe they can go out and do their job as well as they are able to (which usually isnt great anyway). Sadly I think they will all be lapping it up and looking forward to being the ones in the spotlight. We really have to be 3 goals better than them to get a draw.

  11. Did you have to bring this up? I wasn’t there. I was watching my other team lose 0-5 at home to deadly rivals, strangely, the team Valentine played for before going to QP. The general consensus is that his replacement, a guy called Johnny Dutch, was a considerable improvement as a defender. I wish he’d been playing for Rangers instead of Valentine. The Hampden halftime score filtered round the ground about twenty minutes into the second half. The general consensus of friend and foe alike was that everything would come right in the end maybe with a replay. Wrong. A word for Partick Thistle and their stunning success a decade or so later. I saw the ‘58 LCF when Hearts beat Jags 5-0. Enough of these high scoring circuses. I’ll settle for 1-0 to the Righteous.
