I wonder why two, maybe three Jags weren’t red carded for the assault on Tillman. Maybe in the interests of sportsmanship etc. McCall should have subbed one of them without actually putting the sub on.

For a while there under GvB I was coming ambivalent whether Ryan Kent stayed or not but since Mick Beale arrived Kent has been transformed and I'm back to thinking we need to do everything we can to get his signature on a new contract.

Don't agree with the decision to gift them a goal - they were NOT giving us the ball back. They kicked, elbowed, pushed, dived and timewasted all game. Through to next round and Raskin looks an absolute baller.

The Tillman incident which he then scored from should have resulted in a yellow or red for the thistle player and a free kick to us instead of a throw to them. How Tillman is being made the bad guy in all this is peak Scottish football. Partick were refereed to a different standard to us for the whole game.

That was quite the match! First half is best forgotten. We were completely disjointed and no-one in midfield and upfront seemed to know what they were doing. It was good to see Hagi finding so much space in and around their box but it was correct to replace him at half time. The manager has held his hand up and admitted he made too many changes today. Our ball players had absolutely no protection from a dreadful referee. Cantwell, Tillman and later Kent were kicked off the park and were barely awarded a single foul. The half time changes made all the difference and we dominated most of the second half. We were just glad to escape with a victory. Edit. Forgot to mention how bad Kamara and Tav were. We can't continue with 2 passengers in our team.

We're going to a League Cup Final and next round of Scottish Cup and unbeaten since Beale took over. Signed two players in January who on early showings look absolute ballers. If we can add Tillman in the summer, get Kent resigned and have a good window, we'll be fine.

Better in 2nd half (Raskin and Tillman the pick of the bunch) but we really have to examine our obvious shortcomings again and the manager really needs to explain the questionable attitude for periods of the game. We have to be a lot, lot better than this. I don't like singling anyone out as a rule but how Kamara played the full 97mins is beyond me. Tav really needs to improve his contribution as well - his use of the ball at the moment is awful.

Well Mike...it was a nice thought...but you need to get them subs warmin up. -Colak, Haji--just coming off long inactivity Cantwell, Raskin--just got off the bus. Sands--has played CB but only in a pinch. Too much experimentation.

I'm not sure Tillman was even aware how the ball went out of play, so he just played what was in front of him. He had a great second half regardless.

I disagree with letting them score, no rule against what Tillman did, fuck them!

That is a ludicrous decision. I could say cheating. VAR doesn't help in that situation.

MB: 'It would be unfair not to give Sands a run out in his preferred midfield position'. Also MB: *Plays Sands for the first time in weeks ... at CB* I would prefer King got minutes over Sands; I doubt he is being signed permanently.

We are simply a poorer team without Kent.

I understand we are doing well on paper, but we are not exactly winning emphatically against weaker oposition. The whole let them run up and score stuff was gladys too imo.

At half time Tillman had been so anonymous I felt he must be carrying an injury but in the second half I thought he was sensational. At the other end of the spectrum, Kamara and Tavernier look absolutely spent and at the end of their Rangers road. Kamara just seems aimless and disinterested, while TAV can hardly put a foot right these days. In fact, I can't remember the last time our captain turned in an acceptable performance. Contrast with Barisic who had been fairly dire until the World Cup but came back from Qatar, worked his socks off and is now by far our best fullback. Through to the next round!

Our ability in home domestic cup ties to make teams from lower divisions look much better than they are never ceases to amaze me.

Beale explain the whole Tillman affair quite well and takes much of the blame regarding selection et al. So fair enough (though one hopes he changes things now a bit).

Reading that people think Beale has thrown Tillman under a bus and that he'll have lost a lot of respect from the players in some places. I can't agree with that, he can still defend Tillman and explain what happened. The simple fact is that we have to improve our performances though. This was nearly the banana skin, I feel like when we do slip up it might cause a cascade of results if we can't get the team gelled and performing well.

Just stop playing him. He’s shown he’s barely one good performance in ten games.

Abysmal - Thistle should be out of sight. No positives to take from 1st half. Huge improvement required. We are missing Kents industry and creativity and Alfies movement

A wee bit surprised to see Sands favoured over King in defence but I'd imagine the thinking is he will spend more time in midfield areas so his use of the ball should be better than King's. Good to see Roofe avallable again as well! Let's hope for a good afternoon's work.

Just hope we get a better performance at home than we’ve had in recent times in cup ties when I think of the games against Stranraer, Stirling Albion(in the SC) & more recently Dundee (in the LC). A lot of us went to these games hoping to see a barrowload of goals & were somewhat disappointed. We should be taking at least 4 or 5 off Partick Thistle easily
