RANGERS players of the present will be able to heed advice from club legends of the past after new posters featuring inspirational quotes were placed around the club's training centre. Kitman Jim McAlister has given an inside look at spine-tingling words of encouragement from the likes of Walter Smith and Bill Struth that players will be able to see every day - plus a cracker from Jimmy Bell. 3 The Gers kitroom now features inspirational quotesCredit: INSTAGRAM/@JIM_MCALISTER_ 3 There's one from the iconic Bill StruthCredit: INSTAGRAM/@JIM_MCALISTER_ Morton legend McAlister, who also turned out for the likes of Hamilton and Dundee, retired from playing in early 2021 to take up the role at Ibrox. And posting to his Instagram story, he's revealed a behind the scenes look at the kitroom revamp at the club's Auchenhowie training facility. The first one features the great Walter Smith, and features a picture of the legendary former boss holding the SPL league trophy aloft. Below the image are some stirring words for the stars of today from Smith, who passed away in October 2021. The quote reads: "Rangers Football Club. Do not enter unless you are prepared to put yourself second. "This should be the one and only time second best is good enough for you." There's also one featuring the iconic Bill Struth, the manager who led Rangers to 18 league titles during a three-decade long spell in charge. Carrying a similar ethos to the words from Smith, Struth's quote reads: "No one man is bigger than Rangers Football Club." A third poster features another Ibrox legend and former colleague of McAlister's, Jimmy Bell. Bell achieved legendary status at the club he initially joined in the mid 1980s. He sadly passed away last year at the age of 69. Bell was a formidable and popular character behind the scenes at Ibrox and often received plenty of credit for helping to withhold the high standards that Rangers want around the club. Former manager Steven Gerrard once joked that Bell was in fact the actual "boss" when it came to the club's backroom team. Such is Bell's iconic status within the club, he too has been given a poster with an inspirational quote. But the quote isn't quite like the others, and is perhaps fitting for the man who many Gers stars often said was the hardest person in the building to get into their good books. 3 Jimmy Bell's quote isn't quite like the other ones!Credit: INSTAGRAM/@JIM_MCALISTER_ The quote on Bell's poster simply reads: "What the f**k do you want?" Alongside the post, McAlister jokes that of all the new additions to the Gers kit area, it's "the most appropriate one." Former Rangers striker Jermain Defoe paid an emotional tribute to Bell after his sad passing, describing him as "a friend" and "amazing person." Defoe left Rangers a year ago, and he's just about to embark on a brand new career adventure. Since hanging up his boots after a brief spell at Sunderland, Defoe has rejoined former club Tottenham in a coaching and ambassadorial role.3 points

It is, IMHO, nothing to do with what you say above. If he was in their squad and played he couldnt sign for us in this window - he was, rather thank shirking responsibility, ensuring that he couldnt be forced into preventing him having any options in this window. Stuart McCall once refused to play for England because he wanted to play for Scotland... worked out well enough for Scotland IMHO....2 points

Does he not get a dram? Fair play to Goodwin. He shook the scorer’s hand at the final whistle. His last act as manager?1 point

It is, however, the sign of the modern player. It is exactly how they pretty much all operate these days. Can't live in the past. We may dislike it, but it has become the norm.1 point

Even when we sign someone, the #Kentprincesses canny resist....1 point

I remember a couple of years past, the Slug aka Mark Guidi was constantly reminding his beloved Sellik that Neil Lennon's name was gaining considerable purchase inside the Everton Boardroom. I believe Neil is currently available?1 point

Beale thinks a lot of Kent, so he's a guaranteed starter if he sticks around.1 point

He hasn't played much recently, so it might be a couple of weeks before we see him start.1 point

“Borrowed” this from elsewhere September 9th 1914 the members of the Rangers Football Club formed a Rifle Club and learned to shoot and handle arms.1 point

All hoped-for things will come to you Who have the strength to watch and wait, Our longings spur the steeds of Fate, This has been said by one who knew. ‘Ah, all things come to those who wait,’ (I say these words to make me glad), But something answers soft and sad, ‘They come, but often come too late.1 point

My grandpa used to take me to Firhill so I kind of have a nostalgic affection for them. Hope we don't over-punish them.1 point

Got there the day before.had a great day in Picaddilly Square.Next day again in Picaddily Square, then on to a booked day in a club, can't remember where, then on to the second area of game being showed.Again a great time, other than result, back to our digs and woke up next morning to the news of the "riots". Hence my hatred of wanting Manchester clubs to fail, nothing to do with clubs, but plenty to do with how Manchester set up the situation.1 point

Don’t worry, compo. Johnnie Mackenzie and Dave McParland don’t play for them any more.1 point

I’d like Arsenal first and Newcastle second or even the other way round but if it’s going to Manchester, then City all day every day. City take flak and “plastics” taunts for their new Middle-East wealth but I remember the Trautmann/Johnstone/Revie team and the wonderful Colin Bell side. “Plastics” don’t attract 30,000 crowds while playing in lower Divisions. I reckon 30-40,000 is their core, though, and the rest are glory hunters.1 point

Think the player and Swansea are having a bit of a stand-off. Quite normal when a player wants away. Definitely wouldn't put Beale off.1 point

Not true, see my reply above to Scott post.1 point

If he players for Swansea he can't play for another team this season. Swansea recalled him from a successful loan deal at Plymouth with the sole intention to sell him. Now they are threatening to play him with the sole purpose to stop him playing for another club thus season.1 point

We wouldn’t be able to get a player of the same quality to replace Goldson for £5m. Its no coincidence we’ve improved since Goldson returned ( & MB took over)1 point

Father Jim was charged with indecent conduct and the PF Office decided NOT to proceed because they decreed it was not in the public interest. Father Jim has a special devotion to St Bilbo of the Blessed Dildo, there is a dedicated shrine in the Castro area of San Francisco.1 point

I think Cantwell’s style will suit us. Playing in a team who are always in possession and looking to break teams down. He has the kind of creativity that we badly lack too. I can see him playing as the furthest forward of the midfield 3 a lot. A midfield 3 of Raskin, Kamara and Cantwell would be miles ahead of where we are now in terms of creativity. Not to mention being enjoyable to watch, what a novel concept.1 point
