Absolutely spot on. Raskin has had a similar stand off with Delia in Belgium yet nearly everyone on here is eager to have him signed up. Some relatively unknown lad on Swansea's books is attracting our attention but people are jumping to Swansea's defence? "Obligations to employers" "Don't touch with a barge pole" Calm down FFS! If it was Ronaldo I could understand it. All this lad is doing is using what little leverage he has to try and get move to a much bigger club for the opportunity to better himself. He's clearly bursting to join us. Cut him some slack!2 points

Think the player and Swansea are having a bit of a stand-off. Quite normal when a player wants away. Definitely wouldn't put Beale off.2 points

If he players for Swansea he can't play for another team this season. Swansea recalled him from a successful loan deal at Plymouth with the sole intention to sell him. Now they are threatening to play him with the sole purpose to stop him playing for another club thus season.2 points

Arsenal v Man Utd game this evening was excellent. Best game I've watched in ages.2 points

You can’t make announcements on the Sabbath. The journos are all at their devotions whatever these may be. Anyway I’m not bothered if we don’t get a player Swansea rated so highly they sent him on loan to some other nonentities. I’m not bothered if we don’t get a player who hasn’t fulfilled early promise and is reported to have attitude problems. I wouldn’t mind Raskin, though.2 points

And the first match went to extra time. Not an easy run of fixtures. Hopefully the squad gets some good recovery time and new recruits this week.2 points

This whole 'sweeper keeper' thing is a lot of pish imo. They should rename it 'Dicing with death in defence' because that exactly what it is. I'll take a shot stopper any day of the week.2 points

The only Evertonians I knew were my brother’s RC in-laws. Great blokes. Bro served his time on the Clyde so he wasn’t normally well disposed to the other side. He liked these guys, though. The day of his wedding Everton were at home to City. It’s a wonder the wedding cars didn’t go to Goodison instead of the Registry Office.1 point

I arrived in Manchester about 10am that day and there was plenty of 'something' going on for the police presence to be warranted. They turned the screens off because they were concerned about what might happen in the vicinity. It was meant to diffuse the situation, not antagonise it. I don't think that was the correct thing to do but can also understand why they did it.1 point

I’d like Arsenal first and Newcastle second or even the other way round but if it’s going to Manchester, then City all day every day. City take flak and “plastics” taunts for their new Middle-East wealth but I remember the Trautmann/Johnstone/Revie team and the wonderful Colin Bell side. “Plastics” don’t attract 30,000 crowds while playing in lower Divisions. I reckon 30-40,000 is their core, though, and the rest are glory hunters.1 point

TBH I am long past the standing-off situation in employment, having never done so,but should the situation have arisen where I had the chance to better myself,I would have done so. Therefor I have no complaints against the boy for looking to the future.1 point

Looks like a very straightforward "do not touch with a barge pole" to me. If he lacks the character to board a bus for his team I think it's very unlikely he'll be able to shoulder the weight of a Rangers shirt.1 point

Well done the Arsenal,PLEASE keep the Manchester sides from winning EPL,thanks.1 point

Meanwhile, back in the real world, player does what he can to make a move happen. Shocking.1 point

Looks like the classic-concert subscription and the late kick-off spared me from another 90odd minutes of "making Plan A better" attempt? Good. That said, I wouldn't recommend listening to Alan Berg's Violin Concerto "To the memory of an Angel" either, some serious attempt at destroying a violin and some other instruments. Alas it was but one of three parts played, the other two were better. Somehow, my gut feeling says that we will stick to Plan A, even with the players now on the transfer wanted-list, just like we did before. We de facto scrape results, unless the opposition falters completely after a goal or two or late on. We've become easily readable by any half-brained Scottish team-coach and they set up to thwart our tactics and our players' strengths. Yet, we never take the next step and learn from the experience.1 point

Decent enough draw. We'll have to beat that lot to win it because no one else will.1 point
