  1. He tries hard, occasionally looks the part but overall he just isn't good enough. The winning goal on Sunday was a bloody good one. If only Roofe could stay fit.

  2. I hate these bloody plastic pitches but they're about what you'd expect in a country that thinks a bloke in a bra is a woman.

  3. He may end up correct but generally I'd suggest that account is unreliable and usually just takes punts.

  4. When you ask players like Wright and Kent to be direct and prepared to take on defenders, you have to accept much of what they try won't come off. That's always been true .... and is also valid for the best players. Wright can change a game every bit as much as Tillman or Kent and to that extent should definitely be retained in this squad. I find the criticism of him wholly unjustified.

  5. After a week or two of being fairly bullish about incoming transfers, the manager seemed to rein in such chat today which is a wee bit frustrating. Is being two weeks into the window and having no (new) additions worthy of concern or is it right we take our time?

  6. The Krstovic deal must be close. From Wikipedia: "Nikola Krstović (Cyrillic: Никола Крстовић; born 5 April 2000) is a Montenegrin professional footballer who plays as a striker for DAC Dunajská Streda of the Fortuna Liga. He is considered to be one of the most promising young talents in Montenegro. He agreed a 5 year contract with Rangers in 2023, in his announcement he thanked wee Ross Wilson and declared he wanted a home with no pope of Rome.[1]"

  7. Wright constructed the winning goal brilliantly. I’ve been playing it over in my head and it’s just dawned on me where I’ve seen its like before. Willie Henderson. The same reverse turn seemingly going nowhere, the same close control, the same burst of speed to devastate the defence and the same precision cutback. Henderson operated on the left only occasionally but on his own wing this was what you expected every game. Pity Wright can’t manage it more often. There are times when he looks like the answer to Rangers’ attacking needs especially when he comes on as a substitute. Then there is the rest of the time.

  8. Just choking will do. No need to drag Killie pies into it.

  9. I wouldn't be be surprised if we had already agreed a contract and this transfer fee is to bring it forward 6 months

  10. If Roofe misses less than 5 games I’ll be amazed.

  11. This is what concerns me. We know where we need strengthened so it puzzles me that we've not gone ahead and done so. I doubt Jack will play tomorrow after 120mins on Sunday which leaves us with Lundstram (already carrying an injury we're told and playing mediocrely) and Kamara who is very poor at the moment (and also apparently carrying a knock). Then we'll have a very heavy McDiarmid pitch on Saturday night after a week of cold weather and undersoil heating.

  12. I like Scott Wright, have done since he played for Aberdeen so was pleased when we signed him. I never expected him to be a Laudrup or Cooper or even a Neil McCann, but was hoping he could cement a place in our team. He has been unable to do this, but still think he is a decent squad player and he has delivered in cup semi-final and final. I liked Beale's comments about instructing Wright to be more direct as that's when he is at his best. Hopefully Beale and his team can improve SW's contribution as I think their is a player hiding somewhere inside Scott Wright.

  17. The pitch at Kilmarnock doesn't tend to encourage good football. Winning with no injuries is the main aim.

  18. Yeh, I said before we signed him. Not sure what’s confusing.

  19. Maybe we should wait and see what happens before panicking

  20. We should only bring in players who can add something we’ve not already got or for positions where we’re short in numbers e.g. CB. No point in just signing players for the sake of it.

  21. This is all very disappointing and concerning. We obviously need to strengthen and I hope it happens soon or the fans will explode. I've not yet got over not strengthening midfield and GK in the summer and renewing Davis and McGregor's contracts. Has cost us dearly. How could they not envisage that?

  22. It’ll be even more frustrating if we drop points over the next couple of weeks because Jack/Kamara/Lundstram can’t keep up with the schedule but club know best.

  23. Too bad no-one wants to pick up Kent, so we get a proper striker / attacker into that place.

  26. Aye, it's a hard one, as the boy tries like fuck, obviously loves it here, has all the pace in the world, and can produce all the tricks on his day. He was up against a more forward playing player at full back, who was gubbed, and that's probably our best way to utilise him. Sadly, we rarely play teams who expose themselves enough that his pace can be best exploited, that's the nature of the SPL. As long as he, and we, accept that this is about as good as it gets for him.

  27. I’ve seen this guy mentioned too, Krstovic. Looks the right profile. Difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff in the Slovakian league, but his stats are off the scale.

  28. A right sided attacker - we have only needed one of them since (don't say Candieas don't!) forever

  29. Hopefully we've got three or four deals being worked on. The squad really needs some new faces.
