That video really is hilarious! Tackle him, tackle him - fuck off!9 points

Perhaps. Given he has been out for 2 months, trained twice and we wouldn't have won the game without him getting forward and involved in the goals (the winner especially) I'd be inclined to cut him a little slack.6 points

In the interest of continuity, can one of our Moderators transfer this wonderful BBC Radio Scotland clip found by Forlanssister into the Pacific Quay Musings thread? It deserves it's place.5 points

James Sands is becoming associated with too many mistakes in central defence and is in danger of becoming what we see too often in football - a good player whose career suffers from being played out of position too often. I've always seen Sands as a very decent defensive midfielder who can pass and be robust when he needs to be. By rights he should by now have been taking the field in place of Davis or even Jack but there's a real danger he'll be seen as a poor centre back rather than aa good midfielder. It's a pity for him as an individual and for us as a club. If the option to sign him permanently isn't exercised, you just know he's the sort of player who will turn up on our screen playing in a top league.5 points

This is where the guy puzzles me as sometimes he comes across as really physical (he was excellent in midfield v Aberdeen in late October) and other times he seems to really struggle (Nisbet dominated him last week). As said in the other thread, I think he needs a run of games in his preferred role before we can really judge him but, generally, I'm unconvinced at the agreed fee. For £2m then he'd probably be a useful signing but not at the best part of £5m.4 points

Hopefully last night was the last time we'll see him played there with Goldson, Davies and King now all available. Goldson understandably looked rusty last night but no reason why he can Davies can't both play on Friday or at least King alongside them. Sands does look better in midfield but I'm not so sure I'd be wanting to spend the thick end of £4-5m on him. Consistency is an issue - explained by him being moved about and in and out of the team - but there are aspects of his play that concern me. Easy to forget he is only 22 though. I'm undecided but given the poor form and injury unreliability of other midfield players then chances are we'll see him more regularly in his preferred position for the rest of his loan deal. Only then can we judge him properly.4 points

Great example to a few of our sicknotes.3 points

I think it was more gastric flu which both he and Kent (and others) have had over the last week. Tav and Kent were 50/50 for the game on Monday with Tav looking especially unlikely but he felt better yesterday so drove up (the team had come up by bus the day before).3 points
-
Fair play to Tav if true. He was poor last night. But this has got to be appreciated3 points

Why people dont understand this is beyond me. Two guys that have been out for an extended period, at the same time, is bonkers IMHO.3 points

It’s the second game in a row he has set up the winner with a piece of brilliant individual skill. He may need to improve his all round game but the goal-creating ability is there for all to see.3 points
-
We got out of jail after a woeful 2nd half performance. Still huge improvements required. Delighted we won, delighted the sheep will be pig sick, delighted for the 3 points but we were terrible.3 points

If he had the flu, he wouldn't be playing. No wonder women take the piss about 'man-flu'. In my opinion, if he's unwell he should not be playing.2 points
-
Goldson and Davies will be an excellent pairing in my opinion if we can get and keep them fit. I think Davies is excellent on the ball whilst Goldson is a good foil defensively for him.2 points
-
He did but, one or two poor misplaced passes aside, I thought he improved as the game went on. Delighted to have him back as he's clearly been missed of late.2 points

The reaction of Goodwin to both Arfield goals and the interview after was better than the previous 94 minutes for me2 points

Had a look at the stats on Sofascore and FotMob just out of interest. They give player ratings based purely on stats. They had Goldson and Tillman as the best performers. One thing I notice about Tillman’s stats every time is he performs very well in duels. The worst performers were Jack, Sands and McGregor. Devine actually scored low too.2 points

I don’t think we are anywhere near that. The last two games have been brilliant results but have also shown the huge problems with the squad. We need a turnover of playing staff, it seems clear to me.2 points

I thought the 15mins before HT & the 15mins after HT we were particularly bad. We still seem to be having spells in games where our level seems to drop alarmingly. It was the same last week against hibz.2 points

I would contend that the first 80 minutes were only dull because one team played very well and dominated the game. But, for sure, it only "kicked off" when France got the penalty2 points

Borna should be available for Motherwell. He didn't say he isn't ready to or unhappy at having to return to Rangers or that he isn't mentally or physically ready.1 point

Aberdeen held the other team out for 87 minutes only four days ago. His St Mirren team beat Celtc at least once, as far as I recall. I have nothing against the Irish. The Plastic Oirish we have to live with, however...1 point

I presume this is one of those Match threads where you just avoid the first dozen pages and skip to the posts from this morning..... I am not sure I could conjure up a better way of beating that shower of shite, aside from maybe the 97th minute winner being a penalty after a dubious VAR reversal and a re-taken penalty for encroachment, lol1 point

most of the players were awful, some not that good. Kent was ok especially first half and his new role looks really promising. Arfield will win this and possibly rightly so but I voted Divine who again was better than the rest.1 point

I almost feel sorry for the people at BBC Scotland when I hear things like that.1 point

Hopefully he recreates Bert's Hampden thunderbolt against them fairly soon.1 point

When he is in midfield he reminds me of Bert Konterman playing there. Needless to say i dont think we need that type of player.1 point

Right of the back 3 had been his position up until the few months before we signed him. At the time of signing him the talk was that it was as a DM who can also cover at the back, with Davis and Jack ageing. For a relatively small fee I would probably take Sands. I find him quite error prone in defence tbh. The kind of guy who seems to have more bad luck than others.1 point

Where is your preferred position? I would say definitely the holding midfield role, that’s where I am most comfortable. At my previous club, I bounced around a little and have played centre-back for the national team as well, but I think I am definitely more comfortable at holding mid. That’s a big reason I came here because they saw me in that position. That’s my No.1 https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/19881924.james-sands-rangers-q-full-best-position-claudio-reynas-advice-ronny-deilas-recommendations/1 point

I look at last nights result as a generous gift from the Dons nothing more the overall team performance was substandard, but I welcome the three points1 point

Tis the season to be cheerful. Normally, I say festive felicitations to all. Tonight, I say to Jim Goodwin, 'Merry Crimbo Jimbo'.1 point

Wow! Absolutely amazing. Michael Beale does comebacks folks! Delighted with that. And really delighted we haven’t given them the satisfaction as well! Taking points off us is what they live for.1 point

Big decisions lie ahead for MB. those who thought changing the manager would solve our problems are going to be very disappointed indeed1 point
-
Change of manager but still a squad full of pathetic losers sadly.1 point
-
After the hibz game last week & tonight surely MB must be thinking he’s got to do something about the goalkeeper position. The free kick went from one side into the other side of the goal. The long way in if u like1 point

I am not sure why Lundstram can't be that guy under new management. That was exactly how he played in the European run.1 point
