Beale is gushing about Tillman in that video, quite right, Tillman has huge potential and I think he, and other young players, will flourish under Beale as he wants all players to express themselves. Beale will give all these young players belief in their own ability and will get the best out of them.

I think the majority are genuinely injured. Surely the medical staff will know if a player is 'at it'? What bugs me about Roofe are the trips to play for Jamaica, when he is so regularly injured. Priority should be the employer.

On his game, Alfie is unplayable. If he had not been injured last season, we may have won the EL. He is our all-time top scorer in Europe. However, he can implode, he can look disinterested and he can look unfit. I'm 50/50 on Alfie - if Beale and his team to get Alfie back fit (and interested) he's an asset and it will be difficult to replace him.

So does Glenn. His selective effort shows that. Needs to move on.

That's a good point regarding the managerial vacancy, but at least having a run-out would have helped fitness and match sharpness when we return.

Possibly have messed up but if we had arranged some who would have taken the team,with Gio going and Beale taking over eventually?. Other than giving players a run-out would have served no purpose regards selection/tactics etc.

They should have kept attacking at the beginning of extra time. Argentina were on the ropes and couldn't cope with ra big men up top. Some day of football and we have France v England tomorrow !! The stuff on Wilson also feels like its getting over-egged. Yes there are clearly squad management situations that need to be addressed but we also need to remember that we are working within a limited budget, players aren't compelled to simply comply with what we want of them, no matter what we think the appeal of playing for us is or should be. It was said in the Q&A that for Morelos and Kent particularly, that essentially we have done all we can to try and persuade them to sign a new deal. That being the case, if the players run down their contracts there isn't an awful lot we can do other than try and move them on. This has coincided with injuries and down turn in form at key moments. Like with injuries, circumstances have kicked us hard in the last year or so, and Wilson has to accept some criticism, particularly where we have taken some gambles that haven't paid off, I just find the vitriol a bit silly. Unfortunately, with our resource constraints, we are always taking some form of calculated gamble.

I don't doubt for a minute that there's lots of things about our game which just grinds players down over the space of a few years. Those pitches... playing the same teams 4-6 times a season... the constant negative tactics from some teams... etc.
