Now I've let you all build up a lead, I'll start playing properly.....5 points

I read that Houston receives a salary from C1872. He was previously employed by the club, I believe, presumably under King's watch, so perhaps he's bitter about losing his job? Not 100% sure about my facts on this, but it's just what I've read online. It does appear that C1872 value their relationship with King higher than their relationship with the club.3 points

Nothing very interesting gets said in football interviews and I don't think Beale's was any different. Let's see what happens on the pitch.3 points

I was against GvB, then got swept up in the excitement. That didn't last long...3 points

I actually posted against him coming completely in the new manager thread. Since that post and by the time it was strongly rumoured he was coming I had completely flipped on the view. I had a look at some QPR stuff, watched some of the podcasts/blogs he had done and was bought in. Some of his comments on the 55 season about not winning enough that year really resonates. I think his profile and outlook as a manager fits with our club ambition of this fabled 'player trading model'. He will profile and target top young talent to come here and develop them. Hopefully he can deliver results and silverware. Ultimately as a club I dont think we are in a place to go out and get an experienced winner or someone with a pedigree in a big league in as a manager. I dont think that lot across the city are either.3 points

I call for a points deduction for speaking about yourself in the third person. Who's with me?3 points

Thinking of suing them myself for lack of decent football and team effort 😃2 points

Is this you slowly coming round to the new Manager then?2 points

Somewhat telling that Devine was being used as the left back in the training videos. May suggest Yilmaz is still a bit away from a return. No game-time yet for Borna in Qatar so hopefully he'll come straight back into the squad upon his return.2 points

He was feeling his hamstring in the last or penultimate game before the break.2 points

Good to see Lowry, Roofe and Lovelace all involved. Yesterday's video also had Goldson and Souttar at the training ground so hoping those two aren't too far away either - same with Yilmaz.2 points

Saw the Sky News interview last night. He spoke very well. I am excited to see if he can get a tune out of this team.2 points

The truth is it would be better for Rangers and the vast majority of supporters if Club1872 stopped its embarrassing vendetta and went somewhere very far away where we never had to hear from it again.2 points

Just watched and that was a bizarre q&a in my view. King queries where all the money has gone yet clearly has access to the annual report the same as the rest of us. he complains the board are going in a different direction by not investing in the way he would, yet seems to have completely forgotten that one of the things this board has done is pay back the loans from king. we heard a question from Craig Houston too, though no mention was made of his job with c1872, so presumably he was there in a personal capacity. His questions focused on the board and whether others still there might share some of his views. DK responded but Houston clearly holds contempt for the board, something he is entitled to of course, but how on earth that squares with his role at c1872 and presumably trying to work productively with the club? There were other things that occurred but I just had to get that off my chest immediately. My last remaining token contributions and therefore membership of c1872 is likely now to be cancelled.2 points

Everyone out of contract at the end of the season. If Kent & Morelos won’t sign new deals punt them in January2 points

I'm not a violent man but for Lineker I could change.1 point

Lineker now talking about the Soviet Union and freedom of expression. How high is his sanctimonious horse!? Is it as high as his massive salary?1 point

Plod probably. But read they have applied to play at home rather than moving it to Kilmarnock1 point

Looks like Darvel want to play game at their home ground. Hope they are allowed.1 point

Of course he is. It's getting him to admit it that's the challenge.1 point

It was a good interview. He said lots of the right things. I'm looking forward to part 2. A couple of comments that stuck on me. He thinks the squad is in a good place. I'm hoping that's lip service and a few players cards are marked. He mentioned the injuries have had a big impact on things. Other than Goldson and Hagi the rest are either perma-injured or dont play. So i hope he doesn't get his hopes up that they will find a miraculous recovery. He also mentioned 'taking the handbrake off'. I hope that he can, many of this team seem to be permanently towing a caravan. I have no doubts he will move people on and bring in his own players if anyone here isn't up to standards. He will have a long list of younger players in the EPL and Championship that he will bring in.1 point

Yeah find it difficult for anyone to justifiably blame the fans for this. Just clusterfcuk number 3326 from the board.1 point

Yes, like @ranger_syntax says, the review of the accounts by people who actually know what they're talking about seems to be very encouraging. Its also unfair to say the board hasn't backed Gio and Gerrard in the transfer market and that all Ross Wilson's signings have been terrible as its all a lot more nuanced than that. The board have clearly made some bad decisions (Australian tour anyone?) and seem way out of touch with the fans on some important issues (disabled supporter access & provisions) so they do need to improve how they communicate and engage on those kind of things, but on the football & budget/accounts things, they can't come out and be as transparent as some fans want because that's not how businesses work. But we all know how it works. If we're winning, everyone is happy. Which is probably why following #55, there was very little criticism about the squad, because we thought it would all be fine, when in reality, some of our starting XI should have been moved-on then, with the rest following the season after, precisely so we didn't find ourselves in this position.1 point

Whoever signed off on attending is at fault here. An appalling decision.1 point
-
Agreed. That's the modern game. Managers are coaches now; they have to implement a style of play, instil tactics and strategy, improve players etc. Gone are the days where a manager just assembles a team, organises them ('four-four-f*cking-two!') and lets them go. Those types don't work now; the game is too complex.1 point

Jews don't Count. You may have viewed David Baddiel's latest powerful documentary, 'Jews don't Count'? Given the fall out between the majority of UK Jews and the Labour Party these last couple of decades, it was not unexpected but, it was an awkward watch. Baddiel correctly lays out two millennia of anti-semitism we are all familiar with and, points out the left leaning intelligentsia find it most uncomfortable. We live in an era of heightened sensitivities and it is appalling that Jews are mostly not included in debates on racism. Baddiel points the finger of fault at the Establishment, including the BBC. Baddiel accepts that his previous broadcasting history was not all that, he recognised his demonisation of Nottingham Forest's centre forward, Jason Lee strayed into racism. Baddiel blacked up, wore a pineapple on his head and, donned braiding whilst sending up the hapless player. He decided to say sorry to Lee and the filmed apology will surely be counted in the ranks of awkward TV. However, the most awkward fact remains why the Jewish experience fails to make inclusion when the Palestinian, new world Aboriginals and, Irish experiences are so well rehearsed? The Establishment in Scotland is the SNP and the fawning broadcast and print media. I have long wondered how left leaning folks get away with identifying themselves as both Nationalist and Socialist? The Doyen of our intelligentsia parks his arse at BBC Scotland, the seventy year old RAB Cosgrove took umbrage at Baddiel's piece. Toting a significant multi-national property portfolio, this Michelin starred so-called. Socialist has a column in the National and a constant PQ remit to stick it on the Rangers. The arbiter of what is acceptable in new, modern Scotland has decreed, "sorry" appears to be Baddiel's hardest word. RAB utilised both his National column and weekly shows on the National broadcaster to stick it on Baddiel. Where he leads, we know the PQ Producers in their Panzers follow(not follow follow NEVER follow follow). We have a number of other shows reinforcing RAB's point. Shereen Nanjiani has Angela Haggerty and Paul McNamee on to discuss Baddiel, then there are the phone-ins(only card carrying members need call). On Off the Ball, RAB prompted Cowan through a pitch for a BBC Radio Scotland show where past Presenters could say sorry for past errors of judgement. Thus, we arrived at Jim Traynor. Now, usually when Traynor is mentioned, Cosgrove informs the audience that his Scottish football nickname is, 'Jabba'. Funnily enough, RAB never explains why Rangers supporters refer to him as, 'RAB'(Rancid Auld Bigot). Anyways, RAB wants a show with Jim Traynor and Graham Spiers discussing their support of Rangers and saying, "sorry". As a Rangers supporter, I would ask why License Fee payers monies are being forked out to invite two guys no longer employed by the national broadcaster to return to discuss Rangers. Particularly since one of them, Spiers(and sons) has told us he has been a season ticket holder at Sellik Park these last four seasons. He wants to give his sons the football experience he enjoyed. Further, Traynor right back to his days on the Herald always proclaimed his love for Airdrionians. Here is a better idea, take half-a-dozen still employed at PQ types, you know Chris McLaughlin, Kheredine Idessane, Tom English, Martin Dowden, ...... etc and, they can all chorus love furra Sellik and say, "sorry" for NOT loving the club enough. Even better, include RAB, Big Dick, Liam, Michael Stewart, .... etc and, you can all debate who HATES Rangers and Rangers supporters the most? More value for the License Fee payer and think of the spin offs in phone-in shows. Keep the Producers happy. RAB often evokes the past on the Beeb, Rangers were without a doubt the Establishment club. If we were, surely it ended fifty years past? Further, being the Establishment club, you would think our PR might be a bit better? Even further again, being the Establishment club, why does none(zero) of the ruling party's(SNP) MSPs support Rangers? Sixty-five MSPs and none support the Establishment club. Here's a better, more appropriate pitch. Put RAB in a studio and he can say, "sorry" for every time he broadcast or printed the word, 'H-U-N'. We will get David Baddiel to keep count.1 point
