I think all three and Kent for that matter have been largely appalling this season. Wright was unusually poor recently in terms of his touch but I was glad to see him offer improvement last night. We need a radical overhaul of attacking areas next summer as, as much as we've been poor defensively, we've not scored anywhere near enough goals this season or last.6 points

Those corners are soul destroying. It is so abundantly clear they dont work, yet we persist. Try some short ones, try some to the edge of the box, try some inswingers on top of the keeper.... Nope, lets float those outswingers miles up in the air and make it easy to defend against. Amateur is the only way to describe our set pieces5 points

It only reinforced what we have all been thinking. No playing style, no game plan. Rely on individual moments of brilliance to make things happen. Set pieces are meek. Defending looks dodgy.4 points

Good response from Kent, I also have to say I think Wright made a difference when he came on, at least showed a bit of spirit and urgency.4 points

@Frankie just saw the clip of Neilson moaning about injury time! You honestly couldnt make that up! How many times have we watched Craig G come and take an age to take goal kicks! The irony is lost on Neilson completely!3 points

All our set pieces are shocking tbh! even throw ins are terrible! having said that I can't actually remember when we were ever good at them?.2 points

It's games like that that's got me starting to yearn for the grand ole days of yore with McCoist in the dugout and Daly and Kyle up front, the workaholic Nicky Law in midfield and the rock that was Emerson Cribari in defence !!2 points

First change I'd make is to stop Tavernier from taking corners altogether.2 points

Wright should start more games. IMO he’s a ar better player than either Sakala or Tamundo2 points

Kent for me. Thought Sands was immense in the first half.2 points

Big 3 points. Get the floaty out swinging corners in the bin ASAP please. They dont work.2 points

First half was torture but Kent seemed to rediscover his form second half which made a big difference Would like to see the Barasic penalty incident again. Looked a stonewaller from where I sit in the SJ rear2 points

I enjoyed the second half tonight. Highlight of the first half for me was the performance of James Sands at defensive mid. Best player by a mile. The difference in the second half was that we played with only one defensive mid and had a lot more players in the final third. I have been critical of Kent lately but he shone in the second half. Tillman, Arfield, Wright and Morelos all did well although Alfie is definitely needing game time to get his sharpness back in front of goal.2 points

We certainly need an element of variety as you say but we also need to improve the quality of corners and the likes of Tavernier hasn't produced an effective corner kick in weeks. Our hit rate at corners is appalling. At Leicester City, James Madison is one of their principal goal threats but takes most of their corner kicks for the simple reason he's good at it. There are other examples. Actually, having looked at the stats for goals scored from corner kicks, we would be more likely to score if we just used corners to take possession of the football and forgot about crossing into the penalty box.1 point

I think MacK has misread or misunderstood your comment, which implied the training or tactics are at fault, rather than the players (or at least that's the way I read it).1 point

Blood and thunder, glaur and muck. Fine for us old fellows but not so good for the young soccer geeks nowadays. Got to admit, though, City and Chelsea last night served up a sumptuous repast of old style football just without the ingredients aforementioned.1 point

There's some awful crap posted about our players, much of it from me no doubt, but collectively we usually manage to get it right. Looking at the vote count this week, we certainly did.1 point

Gio seems to have been playing a 4-1-1-3-1 formation recently with one sitting midfielder and one who is behind the attacking 3 but joins them at every opportunity. Lundstrom was doing that in the first half but it's not really his game. Davis has also been given that role recently and it also doesn't suit him. Lundstrom went back and was the holding midfielder in the second half with Arfield in the "floating" role and it worked a bit better as it suits their natural games.1 point

I thought Kent, Wright and Morelos were our best players, and it says something when 2 of them were subs. Kent was dangerous throughout the game and gets my vote.1 point

Kent and I can be his harshest critic. If he played like how he did 2nd half all the time we wouldn't be on his back. IN fact he would be away to somewhere like Leeds already!1 point

Scott Wright couldnt get in the Aberdeen team half the time before we signed him, I think that says it all1 point

I don't think any of them are good enough. If they're all fit, I'd be starting Sakala though.1 point

We are seriously short of a cohesive and creative midfield. Far too much rests on the shoulders of Tillman. Lundstram has a knack of moving around quite a bit and you wonder what his position actually was. Maybe he was out to create space, but somehow many were not on the same wavelength. Sands, in the first half, was clearly the holding chap in midfield and tried to help the centre-halfs to distribute the ball. We have to get people on the park who are willing to shoot and have the ability to hit the target. Time and again we get to the penalty area, but responsibility is shifted to another player, who is often in a worse position or covered. Morelos again needs far too many chances to score, a habit he had before his injury too. Just get the next game over the line and hope for the best with the injuries.1 point

King deserves a shoutout for his distribution yesterday IMO. Some of his long diagonals to Kent in particular were brilliant.1 point

So, we won but I'm assuming last night didn't change many opinions on the manager? I think the board will stick with GvB unless the league campaign starts getting really desperate, unfortunately.1 point

He seems to be dismissed by a lot of our fans, but I've always liked Wright - as a squad player. He's quick, direct, likes a dribble and a shot at goal. He just lacks a bit of quality in his final product. I also feel like he's not quite integrated into the team as would be beneficial to us and him; it's as if he plays as an individual rather than linking-up with teammates. (Of course, I blame GvB for that! )1 point

Between Kent and Barisic for me who were much more effective than the right side of the team. Indeed the latter seems to be one of few players that shows the required passion at times. However, Kent wins my vote for really knuckling down after the break and was a real threat as game went on.1 point

Kent was really good in the second half and BB seemed to be inspired by some inept refereeing. First half was awful but 2nd was more like it1 point

Caught some breaks, missed some chances, but capitalized in the end, and kept the clean sheet. Three points!1 point

Am I the only one who thought that we deserved to win by 3 or 4 goals tonight? We created some good chances and Alfie should have had a hat-rick! Anyway, MOTM performance by Kent. Borna, Tillman and Sands (1t half) played well and a good cameo from Wright. Hearts didn't want to play tonight and played very defensively. On to St. mirren on Saturday.1 point
