The Goldson injury was massive. No way do they score as many if he's in the park.4 points

Money is in the back, and now we see what is required. We are probably another 5-10 years away from anywhere close to doing something against the top sides in Europe. If there is anything Gio could have done differently, he might have sent on Sands and Ridvan to keep the score low, but that would have been deemed cowardly too. We've seen the Scum been humbled in Europe by these teams and laughed about it, not least since they burned far more millions than we did. Yet, this is a level far above anything Scottish ... and we clearly punched above our weight against some CL-regulars in the EL these last few years. While the gnashing of teeth will continue on various levels, at the end of the day, this was to be expected - despite the final score being ridiculous.3 points

Why are we making 3 subs at 4-1 down? Should have been made much earlier.3 points

Hope we just give it our best. A result tonight could give us a real lift for the next few months.3 points

In the space of 5 years we went from being knocked out by Progres Neiderkorn to the Europa league final. We didn't need to change association to do that. We did it by hiring a good manager and assembling a good squad. Forget the fantasy and focus on the football.2 points

We play teams every week who have a financial gulf with us and we don’t often beat them 6-1. It’s definitely a big factor but we shouldn’t use it as the be all and end all. I don’t expect us to beat these teams but we should give a good account of ourselves. We had some great results last season in Europe and v PSV. It’s like that ability has just vanished all of a sudden.2 points

Goldson will be a big miss, it's lucky we have cover in Helander, that we bought Souttar, we have Balogun, have King to cover him effectively2 points

Very few. But those who wanted to ‘have a go’ tonight need to realise you can’t do that at this level. 15 years ago Walter Smith was accused of ‘anti-football’ against Barcelona, people need to realise he did that for a reason2 points

Getting regular income from auto-reaching the CL stages (even though Scottish footie might lose that comfort soon enough) and possible selling better players to the EPL. Thus we have a better basis for signing better players. BTW, we sure have a chance to grab some points in the CL in the future, even get a stage further ... if we are grouped with Kopenhagen, Sporting, Plzen, Zagreb or the like. But if super-multi-million teams like Liverpool, Napoli and even Ajax get into their stride, we're just canon-fodder in the here and now. And we will be for years to come. Neither Leipzig nor Dortmund were at their best last season ... and we eventually failed to beat a mediocre (by those standards) Eintracht.2 points

Those in our support who slaughter Goldson really need to question themselves. I’m now dreading going into games without him. Young King simply isn’t ready for what lies ahead2 points

I agree, I'm not even trying to be funny either, I have seen young players drown their entire careers after suffering far less.2 points

This sums recent events at our club very well for me. Things are not right.2 points

Tav's form isn't good. You can't single him out, you're right, but if you're not leading by example I think it does have an affect on the team.2 points

Aye, it was always going to present problems. Obviously important that we get right back on it against Motherwell.2 points

Gulf in class and finances laid as bare as it could be. Maybe now we'll realise what an achievement was getting to Europa League Final was last season. We matched them for 50mins then schoolboy errors saw us go 3-1 down and it was all over then. Need to dust ourselves down and concentrate on our bread and butter. Goldson injury is a huge blow, could have driven a double-decker bus through the middle of our defence.2 points

Must have been some half time team talk by Gio. Liverpool's class shone through in the end but why did we stop doing the things that were reaping rewards in the 1st half? Not singling him out but merely just an observation...Tav was very poor tonight. PS Gutted for Goldson2 points

Contrast between the halves was clear. Liverpool stepped up a gear and we simply couldn't cope. At times it looked like they had an extra two men and it's unfathomable to me why the manager didn't change things quicker. Our lack of options in midfield badly exposed. A sickener. It's a pity we were so bad after half-time as the 1st half was decent enough but we had no answer to Liverpool's movement & quality on the ball. Lack of leadership after Goldson went off also stark and now a real concern for rest of pre-WC period. Not sure where we go from here.2 points

This only lasts so long. I don`t even want to check how much even their subs cost today. Essentially, it`s like us at full strength playing Elgin City.2 points

As good as we were 1st half, we've been dreadful 2nd half. School boy errors cost us 2 goals thus far. Disappointing.2 points

I miss Hello Hello. Especially when you hear how badly all the English fans sing it. Plenty of other songs to get us through the evening though.2 points

Was interesting to hear from transfer news sharer Fabrizio Romano that many big clubs are monitoring Leon King. I am still convinced if we can get these young guys in the team for 20-30 games at a young age the EPL will come and put big money down for them. As much as i don't want to sell these guys I think where we are financially as of now its essential for us to build a stronger squad.2 points

It'll be as tough as the Napoli game which we did very well in until the penalties and red card. As long as we turn up and give 100%.2 points

Excited for this - just hope to see us give them a proper game this time. Nothing to lose tonight!2 points

At the top right? After the forum was updated. It takes you to the Gersnet Podcast and twitter feed. Is it a problem?2 points

Aye, watched that and was thinking the same. If you're playing a better team, it's all about work rate and hoping for a bit of luck. We've been poor in the CL - tomorrow night is the time to change that. The support has a job to do too. I plan to be in full voice.2 points

The physicality at their level just out muscles us to an alarming degree.1 point

Nah. You can be out your depth but still show passion and bite, we have very rarely shown any recently.1 point

I don't think Morelos has shown anything recently that makes me confident he can put in a vintage Morelos performance. The thing with going back 3 is it frees up Tav to attack and be the threat he can be. Trouble is he has been miles off it recently. We are also asking a heck of a lot from Lundstram and Jack. But it is a good way to get King in the team and he deserves gametime.1 point

Didn't get much sleep last night. I'm quite up for this one. Get intae them Rangers!1 point

One of those games that things went the outsiders way. Man City missed a penalty, played most of game with 10 men and rested Haaland. Neither of the big outsiders from last night lost. Shaktner also got a home draw with Real Madrid. We need to try and unsettle Liverpool, hope they aren't quite on it and TAKE CHANCES that come along.1 point

William Hill isn't giving them the full credit they deserve. In six out of seven of those games, they have kept the ZERO. 0-2 0-2 0-5 1-2 0-1 0-3 0-2 Those Disco Lights fairly improved the results 😁1 point
