It’s funny, he couldn’t get a game for PAOK who are probably a good step down from us in terms of quality. He just seems to be a great fit for us. The way we play 90% of our games we need a guy like him in the team.2 points

I enjoyed the game today. Goldson looked solid, Davies had a good game, Lundstrum and Jack did well and there were creative and exciting players up front.2 points

Sakala did well and Yilmaz looked decent when he came on. Thought Goldson was solid and it helps having Davies beside him Colak took his goals well. Good day. Would have been even better if there had only been 94 minutes in Perth2 points

Great game, four goals and great subs. It's never too late to join the positive club. WATP2 points

I like the look of Yilmaz so far looks an intelligent footballer2 points

We totally dominate them and can easily sub Jack for a second striker (goal difference in mind). Lundstram immense in midfield, defense solid. For the love of the game I can't understand why we play a right winger on the left and a left attacker on the right. Matondo is clearly not clicking there ... and we will sure see the trusted legs of Kent in the second half. Would be sad, almost excuse stuff by Gio, IMHO, but there you go.2 points

Rangers and Croatian strikers work Prso Jelavic and Colak1 point

He's doing a great job and seems to be enjoying Rangers - that's what it's all about.1 point

I think I read Colak had a family bereavement during his time in Thessaloniki, so maybe he just had a hard time over there. He wasn't a regular starter.1 point

I was not impressed when we signed him, but I'm happy to be wrong. A proper finisher.1 point

easy to say in hindsight but he should have played at Anfield. Hopefully we will see sim on Wednesday1 point

Playing Jack and Arfield further forward not only made Lundstram's job much easier but allowed the two central defenders more time to distribute. It meant the forwards were less isolated and gave us more secure possession further up the field. The number of times Arfield and Jack were in possession in the opposition penalty box was impressive. It was noticeable how this changed when Jack went off. On the whole, an improvement on recent weeks and maybe heading in a better direction at last.1 point

His best stuff was on the left in Belgium. He was played where he should be playing today. Good result today. Sakala definitely isn't the finished article but he often makes an impact when he plays. Colak is a damn good striker.1 point

Colak is a really really good all round striker. Works tirelessly, hunts for the ball, scores tremendous goals ... what a find. As Gordon said time and again, we should pair him with Alfredo every now and then and see how it works. Not least in games where we defo did not need a second DM who was more or less trying to attack all afternoon. Could easily have been replaced by Tillman, Wright or indeed Morelos. As I said before, Ridvan likes to attack and we saw that today. You wonder how it would work in a 3-4-3 or him ahead of Borna in difficult games. Sakala, if given the ball, shows that he is a striker. Very direct and always willing to shoot (and able to hit the target). If played as a winger, only Wright is close to Sakala`s trickery and accurate shooting, IMHO. Matondo (played out of position) was every inch a winger today and sure has not yet settled to the Scottish game, while Kent works a lot, but his end product ... Alas, three points, two super goals and hopefully at least one point on Wednesday.1 point

Great result, some cracking goals and good performance by all accounts. Can't wait to see highlights. On to Wednesday now 😁1 point

Damn! Missed the goal. Apparently it was a tap-in for Colak after Barisic's shot came off the post.1 point

About GD time they benched Kent.1 point

I agree with the frustration at two holding midfielders, but it's not as bad as it appears, because Jack can play as an #8, so it could be a 1-2 set-up in midfield. However, I would prefer a more attacking #8, like Tillman.1 point

Probably the wait-and-see tactic, since St. Mirren had a couple of good games, including beating the Scum.1 point
-
Would have not used one of Lundstram and Jack and played tillman instead. We don’t need two sitting. happy to see matondo and Sakala get game time. Would like to see Ridvan.1 point

Since St.Mirren were promoted to the top tier in 2018/19 they have visited Ibrox on League business on six occasions. They haven't left with anything. No points, not even a goal. Morelos tends to score against St.Mirren at Ibrox and even Kent has a couple. In 5 competitive away games this season, St.Mirren have won 2 against teams of a similar level, Cowdenbeath and Dundee United. In 12 competitive games 7 wins 5 Defeats 0 Draws1 point

My team above, won't actually happen. A win today would see us reach three consectutive league wins. For context, in 2022 we have never reached four. We have reached three on 3 occasions. At the very end of last season and at the very start of this season plus one in March. Problems 2022 1. Too many draws against dross 2. We lose OF games (3)1 point

The lower profile the better, we just need someone who is very good at their job and is allowed to do it properly rather than be happy or hamstrung in our now customary no-mans land. No-mans land is a place where you say or have said the right things to keep the fans onside, but don't always mean them.......and that it often isn't enough for fans, anyway. ie. nothing works, nobody is happy. Regarding the type of profile you refer to, it corresponds more with a CEO type role. The mix of Robertson as MD and Graham as Head of Communications didn't work IMO. Nor does a policy of trying to appease the fans but only going half way. Burning bridges was all the rage on messageboards back in 2015, still is. I said seven years ago on FF that it wasn't the way to go. You have to pick your 'fights/conflicts' carefully, ones that you can win and not get bogged down. You also have to build some bridges, where it might be advantagous in the medium to long term. IMO, we need a competent and confident CEO who knows when and how to approach the external environment, alligned with and supported by a head of communications who knows what he is doing.1 point

At the start of this season I was adamant McLaughlin had to be given his chance. Unfortunately, what he did with that chance convinced me he was unlikely to be the one to inherit McGregor's gloves. Now I'd like to see what McCrorie can do.1 point

Worth a quick bump to request articles/content for the new site. Would be really good if we had more regular written previews and obviously we carry content on a range of issues from match analysis to current affairs - both directly and indirectly related to Rangers. Oh, and if you're a regular contributor, I'll remove the adverts from the forum for your devices...1 point
