Just go for it right from the start but don’t get nervy if you’re not three nil after twenty minutes. That’s the time to redouble your efforts. Keep something in reserve for the second half, though and never stop grinding away the whole game. See, this coaching business is easy. No need to waste time at Largs.4 points

As a counterweight to the appalling Let Downs (shoot the bloke who started it, don’t ban him) the days and nights of euphoria are countless. Give us no more than three. Here are mine. Hearts v Rangers, Bobby Shearer in goal, league won in October. 1964 Cup Final. Barcelona. Helicopter Sunday No more than four. Actually, Dundee contributed massively to 1964, so I’ll take that out. No more than three.3 points

Copied from elsewhere. Guys just a reminder that for the first time Samaritans have been given the opportunity to collect outside the ground tomorrow. We have volunteers from Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Glasgow & Stirling representing their branches from 1-3pm. Some volunteers worries about the banter around our bright green tabards and buckets but I’ve guaranteed them all bears will see the charity not the colour. It costs a massive amount every year to keep the branches going and anything you can share in this difficult time would be extremely welcome.3 points

I remember John Niven. He was a Firefighter from Edinburgh. I believe he passed after a horrendous bus journey back from a Euro' game in Romania? A blood clot? I used to meet John at Reserve League West and Youth fixtures. He always carried the Edinburgh Evening News because he continually riled and raged against a columnist, Bill Lothian. Apparently, he was a bitter Jambo who attributed every Rangers success to, "the Rangers bounce". John penned an unpublished letter to the paper/columnist stating the Rangers bounce was celebrated by the Bouncy.3 points

At the start of this season I was adamant McLaughlin had to be given his chance. Unfortunately, what he did with that chance convinced me he was unlikely to be the one to inherit McGregor's gloves. Now I'd like to see what McCrorie can do.2 points

Best be on our toes the buddies will be going for an old firm double2 points

Maybe McGregor and McLaughlin will be on their way out at the end of the season and the plan is for McCrorie to be back up to the new keeper. Either that or we're just trying to guarantee we get a fee for him.2 points

Not sure of player availability until we hear from the manager later but I'd like to see the side freshened up for tomorrow with a few players 'rested'. Yilmaz now due a start, Sakala has earned one for a couple of decent cameos, Matondo needs games and Colak back in too please. We do know that St Mirren will give us a tough game (ask Celtic) so it may be more likely the manager is less risk averse with changes which will mean we see Barisic, Lundstram and Kent again. Important we start the game well and crowd show patience. I'm looking forward to it!1 point

Sorry to hear his reasons for resigning but he was too ‘low profile’ for me. We need someone who openly confronts the Rangers-hating pond life in the Scottish mhedia1 point

Shame about his personal circumstances. Where would one send their CV if they fancied applying? Asking for a friend 🤪1 point

1988 Rangers 5 v 1 Celtic (Wilkins volley) 1999 Rangers 2 v 0 Parma Helicopter Sunday1 point

Florence & Ibrox v Leipzig are two of the greatest feelings I have had as a Rangers fan, but we ultimately didnt go on and win the cup so that tempers it a bit. Helicopter Sunday will always be hard to beat. Lovenkrands Cup Final was incredible. 50th title win v Dunfermline for the sheer back and forth drama that day. Title wins at tannadice for both 9IAR and the Operation Tango day were also special. Last day title wins are always special, so 1991 v Dolly is up there too. I cant pick just 3, we have been fortunate to have had so many highs following this club. Not sure I can bring myself to sneak a peek at the lows thread!1 point

Losing 3-2 to Hibs in Scottish Cup Final. The defeat was bad enough but the aftermath was as bad, if not worse. Disappointed at the result, raging at the Hibs fans reaction and disappointed at how the majority of Rangers fans reacted to the Hibs taunts (I.e the ones who didn't react). Mostly, disappointed at the media / Police lies after the event and the powder puff response from our board.1 point

Now that's a team I would look forward to seeing but it would take more positional discipline than I've seen so far.1 point

Will be interesting to see who is played in goal for the Dundee League Cup tie.1 point

Agree on both points. I would like to see Frankie's team but there is no chance Gio will play it. The CL is dead and buried already. I know that defeatist but its also realistic I think1 point

They're in good form. We should play the best available side. It's mental but tomorrow's match is more important than the two 'battle of Britain' Champions League games either side of it.1 point

- Very young lad at Easter Road in 1975: Hibs 1 Rangers 1 (title clincher) - Still young lad at Hampden SCF replay in 1981: Rangers 4 Dundee Utd 1 Had been at Saturday game 0-0 (we missed a last minute penalty) - Long way away but huge celebration : Fiorentina 0 Rangers 0 Sometimes a draw can go a long way1 point

He's still highly thought of - see his recent inclusion in the full Scotland squad ahead of other more established names - so do think he will be here longer term.1 point

I was about to apologise but then you brought up a match/day I had almost completely erased from my memory.1 point

Nice arrangement for us though. He likely counts as a home grown player in european squads.1 point

derBerliner, buster and Malonsgob dragged me into it. I can barely remember what decade I was on it - possibly late 90s and early 00s. There were some characters.1 point

Ouch. Not the Seville one but the 3-12 aggregate. This is a terrible topic. Who started it?1 point

McLaughlin went from number one to not being good enough. McGregor was finished and is now back on top form. And then McCrorie gets a new deal and you start to wonder if that pushes McLaughlin out, even though he signed a new deal earlier in the year. Weird how things changed over the course of September.1 point

Maxwell and big Davie getting pelters again. In their defence, United scored in the 47th minute. How come McCoist, Hateley, Durie and Duncan Ferguson didn’t score five in the remaining 43?1 point

The 1967 Euro Cup Winners final was very disappointing because of a result in another competition but it was Bayern in Germany so no surprise. My worst Euro final is the two legged affair with Fiorentina. I expected to win that one because Rangers were a really good side at the time. Manchester was a miracle the team had got that far. Seville? I had a feeling Rangers had shot their bolt in the earlier rounds. None of these results was humiliating. None of the opponents was a minnow. compo has mentioned a League Cup Final that ended in catastrophe. Strangely the fuss died down after a few days. Rangers signed Willie Telfer and all was well. It was only during our niar that the tims revived the memory of it to give them some comfort in their anguish. In a way the 5-1 at parkhead in 1966 was worse because the resurrection was a long time coming. Therefore, combining, shock, humiliation and minnows, the front runners in the Competition of Shame are Gonzo’s Raith and 26th’s Chesterfield. Chesterfield wins. By a distance.1 point

Both legs of the Bayern game when Mols got injured. We were so unlucky in both games, and Mols getting injured robbed us of seeing a maestro at his peak.1 point

It was late October'80, I came off a week long trining exercise on Dartmoor. I drove up to the Derbyshire and grabbed a couple of hours sleep in the car. It was the quarter-finals of the Anglo-Scottish Cup second leg. We had drawn 1-1 with Chesterfield at Ibrox a fortnight before. The weather on Dartmoor was horrid, it was worse on the edge of the Peak District, persistent heavy rain. We got skelped 3-zip by the then third tier English outfit. As usual, we had taken a huge support down and the disappointment manifested itself in numerous blue on blue on the terraces. Chesterfield went on to win the trophy, defeating Notts County(then first tier) 2-1 in the final.1 point

Possibly Paul Le Guen for me. I was so excited by his appointment, coming off the back of two French titles. But then got here and made a complete arse of it. A painful memory.1 point
