I think losing the Ramsdens Cup Final was worse. Still pissed off about that one to this day.4 points

What is Rangers’ biggest letdown? There’s a list I’m afraid. Confining it to cup finals would make an interesting topic or even a poll but I’m not starting one in case I get banned. Youth and inexperience might get me off, though.3 points

Both legs of the Bayern game when Mols got injured. We were so unlucky in both games, and Mols getting injured robbed us of seeing a maestro at his peak.2 points

Can I add that we are now in a situation where we need a new manager but those in charge are probably going to try and ride things out, cross fingers and hope that Celtic falter. Obvious problems with changing manager are finance and getting someone good enough who will accept the job with current squad. So unless Gio absolutely bombs he's probably safe for the time being. But that means we are treading water, going pretty much nowhere, hoping Celtic falter. Next summer is when there will almost have to be a squad rebuild and that may be the time we have to wait for a new manager and the start of something fresh.2 points

derBerliner, buster and Malonsgob dragged me into it. I can barely remember what decade I was on it - possibly late 90s and early 00s. There were some characters.1 point

McLaughlin went from number one to not being good enough. McGregor was finished and is now back on top form. And then McCrorie gets a new deal and you start to wonder if that pushes McLaughlin out, even though he signed a new deal earlier in the year. Weird how things changed over the course of September.1 point

The 1967 Euro Cup Winners final was very disappointing because of a result in another competition but it was Bayern in Germany so no surprise. My worst Euro final is the two legged affair with Fiorentina. I expected to win that one because Rangers were a really good side at the time. Manchester was a miracle the team had got that far. Seville? I had a feeling Rangers had shot their bolt in the earlier rounds. None of these results was humiliating. None of the opponents was a minnow. compo has mentioned a League Cup Final that ended in catastrophe. Strangely the fuss died down after a few days. Rangers signed Willie Telfer and all was well. It was only during our niar that the tims revived the memory of it to give them some comfort in their anguish. In a way the 5-1 at parkhead in 1966 was worse because the resurrection was a long time coming. Therefore, combining, shock, humiliation and minnows, the front runners in the Competition of Shame are Gonzo’s Raith and 26th’s Chesterfield. Chesterfield wins. By a distance.1 point

No surrender means no excuses. At the very least I expected GvB et al. posted in front of Ibrox, self-flagellating with studded whips. I take defeat like a sultan.1 point

Maybe make it 'Best Surprise/Worst Letdown', so it's not entirely negative.1 point

The Ally Maxwell final ('94) comes high up on my list. Should've won a treble that day!1 point

Trouble was, some of the blazers were injured and not able to play in the final.1 point

On a plus side Roger always gave you his all and he was a very decent man as well1 point

Very much so, since Eintracht were very "beatable", despite being in the final and a plucky outfit. We had the players, yet once again blew the tactics and didn`t change it when we saw it weren`t working. There was no replay at Ibrox coming ...1 point

Losing in Sevilla was the most difficult defeat to get over in 49 years of being a fan.1 point

I clearly remember Davie Cooper going through the same thing and, as much as fans think he is a Rangers legend, he also took a lot of criticism for a while. Kent isn’t disinterested, he’s struggling with confidence.1 point

Kent will end up at club like Leeds, Southampton or Leicester City. If he does, surrounded by better players, he may then get a move to top 6 club if he performs. I get the feeling that Kent will be one of those players we don't realise what we had until he's gone.1 point

Anytime, sir - I've just got a pile of auld books kicking about and some of them come in handy. I'd have trouble sneaking them onto the black chair with me!😆 Aye, it was the first thing many of us thought about last May, wasn't it - so many strikers on the books but none on that Seville pitch until it was just... JUST... too late. While the defensive thing was such a massive part of us getting to Manchester, we really needed and used our spearheads on last season's run. Penalties, man... one penalty... still haven't got over it. Probably never will.1 point

Hard to disagree with your player ratings, McGregor probably a 9 for me though, if he had positioned himself better at the free kick, I'd have given him a 10 as well 😉1 point
