Hey all, Really sorry, the forum this morning may look and feel a little weird and bare. I had to upgrade our forum software which forced some backend upgrades which has messed up some customisations on the forum. Fancy plugins we use and themes had issues. So the site may look a bit different for a few days. Apologies if anyone was trying to get on this morning, It caused some downtime whilst we fixed some things after the upgrades. Any serious issues give me or Frankie a shout please.5 points

Pleasant wee suprise to see St Mirren beat Celtic today. Curtis Main bullying them in a corner flag for 4 minutes was actually quite fun to see. We need to take that wee bonus into Tynecastle next!5 points

No idea what the Celtic manager was thinking with that line up but I'll take it. It makes their oldfirm victory pointless and shows that their kamikaze football isn't all that. What was interesting was how easily Celtic were controlled by a physical game. The correct use of muscle contained their movement and limited their success.3 points

Yeah, it would be different if we’re playing well, but its hard to be that excited about them dropping points when we look so clueless.3 points

Gattuso. A no from me. We don't need passion. We need someone who has a clear playing style. Someone that can play attractive attacking football with an identity. Dyche. Another no from me. Dyche has carved an admirable managerial career but the majority of his high points have been with a team that he set out to frustrate and punch above their weight. With Rangers he has to win every game. I won't win any friends on here but I would take the big Aussie over the other side of the city in a bloody heartbeat. He clearly has an eye for a player and the majority of his transfer business have hit the ground running because they have a clear understanding of what the team is meant to be doing. Colak aside, most of our summer business has not added anything to our team.3 points

Just a wee add on to that. Nathen Paterson played another good game for Everton today at EPL level. ie. we are producing real ability, slight problem for our performance levels if keeping to the youth development model is that the really good players move before we get much service from them. Big plus is that our reputation for producing players is slowly improving. In time, this would mean we are able to get higher incoming transfer fees.2 points

As much as I will always take great pleasure in any defeat for them, I greet this news with a huge serving of caution. A slip by your rivals in a 2 horse race should be welcomed as an opportunity to take advantage but the way we are operating at the moment, I simply have no confidence in what WE are doing to be able to head to Tynecastle in a confident mood.2 points

Certainly a nice surprise but does anyone feel confident about winning at Tynecastle?2 points

I'm a big fan of freedom of speech, so can't take too much issue with people venting whenever they want. As you grow older and mortality kicks in, you tend to act a bit more respectfully, in general, though. Celebrating anyone's death is not really a good look. Having said that, there's a few people I won't be sad to see kick the bucket.2 points

There are "gems" out there but when shopping on a relatively low budget, every signing is a huge gamble. The gems like Aribo, Bassey, Alfredo, Kamara, Lundstrum etc were gambles that paid off, others will inevitably not pay off. This means the managers and DoF jobs become harder as the budget shrinks. Another potential solution (but it's long term) and also a gamble is put all available budget into your academy and use this to bring the best talent through and sell for huge profits. However, for me the time to do this was 2013 not 2022.....2 points

Haaland is going to get 45 goals if he stays fit, what a player. Eddie Howe's honeymoon period is clearly over - a few boos around ST James' yesterday. He has put together a very decent XI and they are away from relegation but they should have won their last 2 games now. I dont see where Leicester get a win from, their defence is scary bad. But Spurs are flying in the league under Conte and I can see them being 2nd this season - which is where I had them at the start of the season due to the Conte factor, Son and Kane being so good and Liverpool not addressing their weak midfield problem. If Thiago, Fabinho and Keita could play 30+ games each then they would challenge but they are lucky to get 30 between them and they turn to Milner, Henderson and a youngster Elliott which is a very average midfield. Huge game at Goodison today. Come you Irons.2 points

There's no doubt GvB is due some criticism but you're bang on the money ... when times are hard the main thing is to suck it up and stay in the race. With 7 months still to go in this title race, much can change.1 point

Win at Tynecastle, we go top. At least for a couple of hours but it would be very welcome. Lose by two goals at Tynecastle, we go third.1 point

The other two teams to hump us in September both lost their 100% league form today, both beaten. Put the house on Milan 😆1 point

There’s a danger of over-analysing this. There have always been scumbags who act without respect or decency. They infest every club, every town, every country. Certain activities and associations attract more of them than others. All anyone can do is take responsibility for how they conduct themselves and decide who they share space with.1 point

Napoli take on Milan at 7.45pm tonight (BT Sport), if anyone's interested. Should be a good game.1 point

Could you work without a Director of Football? An Assistant Manager? A First Team Coach? A Fitness Coach? A Goalkeeping Coach? A Rehab Coach? A Video Analyst? Oh, and a Coach Who Coaches Coaches? (Asking for a friend in the motor trade.)1 point

He came in and had a 55 style season where he massively overachieved by winning the league and became an instant hero. He didn’t build on it at all though, finished 4th and then 3rd and played rubbish football in the process. That’s why I was concerned when we went for him, his CV was mixed at best, he did not recruit well and went backwards. Two transfer windows in here and I’ve already lost trust in his ability to improve his squad, entering yet another season with Kent undroppable due to lack of competition was a huge mistake. With 12 months on his deal we should have been asking his agent to find a buyer.1 point

Need to start with the manager. We should be far better with the players we have.1 point

Utterly depressing. Gio is clueless with that starting 11 against Dundee United at home. Absolutely mind boggling. This season is going nowhere with him at the helm.1 point

I was looking at the odds for the next Brighton manager. There are some good names, there. However, I wouldn't touch that job. Potter is a really good coach, he's done a wonderful job - can anyone really push them further? Realistically, how far can a club like Brighton go?1 point
