What does it matter how good or bad they are in the CL? What difference will that make to what we witnessed today or our chances the next time we meet them? It's exactly this kind of point-scoring pissing contest that hides the truth.5 points
-
The solution to this mess obviously lies with the management and players but I think there's also a need for some realism among the support. Since witnessing a humiliating defeat, where our rivals gave us the proverbial runaround for 90 minutes, I repeatedly read about how Celtic are "shit", "ordinary", "nothing special" and that if we had only turned up today we would surely have beaten them. This, of course, is pure delusion. From what I've seen, Celtic are better than us in every department. They pass better, they're direct, they're faster, hungrier, more aggressive,. They're better organised, more coordinated and appear to be far better prepared and motivated. Postecoglou isn't a fat useless Aussie, he's a serious manager who has a considerable track record of success and clearly understand what it takes to be the number one team in this parish. In a single season he's transformed a sinking ship, won the league, reached the CL group stages and created a team that is miles ahead of Rangers. So perhaps we need to give the Devil his due and admit the magnitude of the task facing Rangers. How is it possible there could be such a gulf in class between the teams we watched today? I didn't expect it to be so glaring and admit to being taken aback by how good they were. One thing is for sure, the distance between the two sides won't be closed by failing to admit it exists.4 points

A bit of an indictment of the quality of this squad. We’re not good enough, I don’t care what anyone says, we should not be losing 4-0 to our rivals. They have more quality in key positions across the starting 11 and it showed today. This is not going to be easy to turn around.4 points

Said it before and illsay it again. We held on to too many players after we won the league. I'm sick of kent and kamara. Davis should be put out to grass. As for giving goldson a 4 year contract.... I'd sack the clown who came up for that.3 points
-
That was brutal. Goldson has become a liability. The keeper was also culpable. I am sick of pussyfooting about at the back. To be honest the midfield selection got the result it deserved. 3 defensive mids who couldn't defend. We lacked pace, drive, commitment and desire. The service to the forwards was pathetic and the management team inept. I was hopeful before the game but we chucked it in the 8th minute.3 points

Short answer is their manager has Gio in his pocket. Our cup semi win in extra time was an anomaly3 points
-
I maintain that the squad is actually fine, albeit lacking in some areas (i.e. #8, RW and ST). It's the tactical approach that's the real issue, for me. This lies with the manager.3 points
-
Complete and total lack of leadership, desire and application from us today. Simply unacceptable.3 points
-
I think we've already been a success in CL by getting there. In reality we should not have beaten PSV, they have better resources and better players than us. European success for me this season was getting to CL. Now we need to try and finish 3rd and drop into EL. Said many times we aren't CL quality, we are miles away from that, but have shown consistently that we are EL quality.3 points

Wasn't meant to be unfair on SG - but harsh reality he won 1 trophy in his time with the club. He lost semi-finals against the likes of Aberdeen and Motherwell (IIRC). It's fair to day I'd prefer SG and his te still to be here, but they aren't and think we are seeing a regression under Gio. Only his European record keeping him in a job at the moment in my opinion3 points
-
Infuriating - alarming how far we have regressed domestically under Gio. This is back to OF games under Pedro and Murty. Come on Gio, give us a handstand3 points

We are all angry but I think you're picking at the words here rather than the meaning. Gio has, once again, shat the bed before a match and played a conservative line up. We didn't play a team to bring the game to Celtic, we brought a team to try and shut them down. It's been a shockingly miserable failure. Again.3 points

3 holding/defensive midfield players is setting up not to lose. Tillman has been our best creative player this season and is moved to accommodate those 3 players. That's setting up not to lose or signs the manager hasn't got a clue. Both scenarios are worrying3 points

Is it wise to put on a tempestuous and overweight striker on when you are chasing a 3-0 deficit?3 points

We have gone into this with Kamara as our attacking midfielder. useless. We won't be winning the league this year but we can learn from Celtc. So do we mind you. They play like they are playing Airdrie at home in every game we play like it's Real Madrid away in every game. we should use this season to get player like Tilman and lowrie up to speed etc. We should play like we did last week v Ross county every week until it is baked in like it is for them. if we don't have money as it seems we need to develop a team that can compete. Oh and they are way more up for this than us that is really unacceptable. Maybe even we start playing McCrorie in the league if we have any belief in him.3 points

Exactly why Arfield would have started for me.2 points
-
Yes you can. If you have the right players who fit in to a coherent system. At this stage, I'm not sure what our system or playing identity is under Gio.2 points

Ben Davies - Liverpool - £4.23 million - Didn’t play Rabbi Mantondo - FC Schalke 04 - £2.70 million - Didn’t play Antonio Colak - PAOK Salonika - £1.89 million Tom Lawrence - Derby - free transfer - Didn’t play John Souttar - Heart of Midlothian - Didn’t play Malik Tillman - Bayern Munich - Loan Ridvan Yilmaz - £3.60 million - Didn’t play Over £10m worth of players who for one reason or another didn’t play. Some questionable signings amongst the above already. How many of them have truly made us stronger? Tillman? Lawrence? Colak? I fear for us against Liverpool if that’s what Celtic did to us today.2 points

What trophy? I couldn't give a flying f**k about the cups. Jesus Christ, St. Johnstone won 2 cups recently. The league is all that matters. Domestic cups are nice days out but meaningless baubles in the end.2 points

The fact is, they have better players in most positions, and that’s a problem. Whose front 3 would rather have? Jota is better than Kent for me, quite comfortably. I’ve said that for a long time. Abada isn’t even that good an all round player but he’s like a second striker, a very reliable goalscorer. And then they have two reliable goalscorers in the middle. That is the biggest difference for me at the moment, they score from half chances. We wouldn’t score from them because we wouldn’t even have a player in those positions at the back post.2 points
-
Lawrence,Colak & Tillman look decent signings we made the summer. Ben Davies should be a good signing too. My main concern was goalkeeper. I saw no point in retaining McGregor who had a few errors last season. That meant we needed a goalkeeper. Easy option was Siegrist but we waited and the yahoos got him. No we’re paying the price unless McCrorie is the answer2 points

That was so fucking depressing. Nothing positive to take from it at all. We made an ordinary team look great. That's a disgrace!2 points

I think we have, it's just that he seems to have this mental tick that makes him revert to negative rubbish.2 points

It won't happen immediately but subject to finding an adequate replacement, I think that is where this is going. Gio needs to do relatively well in Europe, beat the provincial clubs and beat them at Ibrox at New Year.2 points
-
We lost the league mate. We have to perform on both fronts. We are no better domestically now than we were when gio took over. This was deja veu today. Gio implemented the same tactics the last time we got beat at the scum dome and and against union. We went there not to lose today. Once the first goal went in we were out of ideas. Rangers are box of chocolates under gio. You just don't know what your going to get next.2 points

I will say this Ange won't be at Celtc at the end of the season. Probably not the end of the year. They will have trouble when he goes. How much is debatable but i am not convinced their form has much to do with quality of player. Some of their players are very very ordinary. A couple are excellent mind you.2 points

This game was where we always going to find out about this squad (and theirs) We took the sore one in Feburary, solutions had to be found. They appear further away or the gap appears greater.2 points
-
Never gonna happen. We (fans) are too impatient and we'd throw the kids under the bus. As usual with us, we look at ways to improve ourselves in retrospect. The time to have done this was back in 2013 onwards when we were playing in lower leagues and we would be reaping the rewards now. Instead Super Ally and the board singed greats like Ian Black, Jon Daly, Richard Foster (Christ the list is endlessd)2 points

If our main striker is not scoring, it's hard to see where the goals are coming from. The Tims get goals from all over the pitch. We have a clutch of midfielders who probably average 1 or 2 goals per season.2 points
-
Time will tell but I'll repeat what I said months ago. I don't think this squad has enough balance, depth or quality to do much this season.2 points
-
We will need to look at the goalkeeper position. Another keeper would have stopped three of those goals.2 points

everything about them is superior: their intensity, desire, link up play, defensive positioning, finishing.2 points

But we played Kamara, Lundstrum and Davis so I think the first thought was, set up not to lose.2 points

Not sure how Rangers prepare for games at Parkhead but understanding that Celtic play at pace and do things quickly certainly isn't communicated. Laughable attitude to defending with player after player shirking their responsibilities. All 3 goals mirror images of earlier games.2 points

Really? I can't see them losing domestically. They are on a 35 (or there abouts) unbeaten run in SPFL. We struggle to open up teams, they are relentless and find a way. Breaks my heart but they are everything we are not at the moment. They remind me of what we were under SG winning 55 and we resemble them during that season.2 points

Starting a 38 year old when we all knew they'd fly at us is baffling in the extreme.2 points

That'll be that then. Another parkhead capitulation. So far off it it's embarrassing- what's the manager thinking? Hasn't learnt a thing.2 points

As in most OF games I've watched, tempo and energy will be the deciding factor. Start slow, lose fast.2 points
