It was clear from the stands in Dundee that day the he was struggling he simply should never have played that game and the manager and his staff bear a share of the responsibility for that just as they do for letting the current situation reach this far.4 points

Morelos played a big part in us getting to Seville. Aye he made an arse of it on Saturday but that was the first incident like that for a couple of years. We don't half swing from one extreme to the other.4 points

I said a while back that this squad wasn't going to do much this season. It hasn't the balance or depth. Too many players who need managed because of age or chronic injury problems. Recruitment hasn't resolved these problems, at least in the short term. The whole shooting match is starting to look like a slow motion car crash.3 points

Well...I wouldn't go that far...but you guys do have Rangers.2 points

I was annoyed as everyone else with his moment of madness on Saturday, but I'll not be getting the pitch fork oot.2 points

Morelos form/attitude/weight has fluctuated wildly during his time with us. When it all comes together, there is nobody better. Whether he has now reached the end or whether this is the jolt he needs, we'll know soon. I'll be sad to see him go as over his time with us he's been great to watch.2 points

If we were offered 4million for Morelos before the window shuts, I think the board take it. That said, who will buy him now? He may not have any option but to sign a new deal, if it'll even be offered again. He was our most valuable asset 2 years ago, now we may find ourselves getting nothing unless he sorts himself out (permanently) and extends his contract. Thus, that's what we must all hope for.2 points

There are very few players who leave as big a hole as they think they will. I don’t think Morelos is one of them2 points

More than Morelos has let the team down this season. We should have been depending on our experienced players during this transition period but I'm afraid they haven't been doing the business. The management won't last long here if the team can only play in Europe. The League is our number one priority according to Gio but his teams are defensive, boring , shackled and at times appear as if they don't know what they are doing. I may be overreacting but I have the fear.2 points

Out of the CL tomorrow isn't the end of the world because of the €5m parachute and seeded first for the EL but, any bad result against Celtic alongside no improvement on the park will put Gio in a difficult place. Morelos may well be away by then but who replaces him? Colak looks reasonable but IMHO we'll need someone better to fill Alfie's boots.2 points

Mixed messages and mixed results. Not sure its at a crisis point but we're an Old Firm defeat away from some very loud gnashing of teeth. Edit: I'm hoping this is one of those inflection points where we look back at the end of the season and realise it was the early kick up the backside that got our season going.2 points

To be frank, this is the sort of clear message that players and most fans want from our manager.2 points

To be fair Colak, Lawrence and Tillman have done fairly well so far and I'd expect Davies, Ridvan and Matondo to feature more and improve the side too over the coming weeks. However, there's no doubt we're a top class player or two short in key areas and I'm disappointing that we've not invested more into the first XI. Of course Wilson and Gio will say they didn't expect Morelos to play up or Jack/Kamara to start the season so poorly. All things considered, I'd be lying if I didn't think I was concerned by the direction of travel but I do think we're all over-reacting somewhat to a bad day on Saturday which the referee contributed massively to.1 point

Fairly big thread started by him a few weeks ago on FF. And I think one or two pods promoted the same line.1 point
-
Sure but I'm worried about the mixed messages. Three weeks ago we were being fed Morelos was 'flying' and now he's effectively suspended. I tend to side with the manager on these things (especially given Tav's words) but I'm unconvinced we're in a good place.1 point

Don't think it's good for anyone with a vested interest, unless we can get a big fee (highly unlikely).1 point

Bit worried as I can't see this being good news for Morelos or the manager....1 point

Well that news certainly made more sense of the twitter exchange between @Frankieand Stevie from 4Lads. I do wonder whether Gio wants to move in a different direction with regards to our striking option, and an end of window sale of Morelos could be the way to fund such a change, regardless of the outcome tomorrow night.1 point

Sound like a lot more behind the scenes than just what he's done on the park. If the players and management have all agreed then there's not much more to it. We need another striker asap if we can't rely on Morelos. Hopefully he can pull his finger out.1 point

I love Morelos, but its clear at times he has put Colombia ahead of Rangers.1 point

Left out due to fitness concerns and attitude. Senior players on board with decision. That is damming.1 point

Is there a whiff of bullshit in the air? Things like this don't just materialise out of the ether.1 point

At best we won't get him until next year then he will be served up an old firm game as a reward for Saturday.1 point

I was going to say that might work in our favour (if Collum gets demoted) but then remembered all the other officials are useless too. I expect Collum to be taken out of the firing line for a couple of weeks and then it'll be back to normal.1 point

I think the internet has had a part to play. In the early 90s, the referees could largely avoid the malevolent, combined forces of yahoo vicTimhood and inTimidation outside of football grounds (other than the odd window smashing incident). Nowadays, they're like a plague of locusts, swarming all over anything they don't like. You just need to look at any Rangers related article to see evidence of this. One would hope Rangers are or have put together a dossier with statistics and specific incidents to hand to the SFA. Having said that, I wouldn't expect much of a useful response, so what's the point!? It's a bit depressing but I think we're stuck with it for the time being.1 point

I think it’s fairly obvious who benefits from inconsistent Scottish officials. One club more than most I’d suggest. The question needing asked is whether this inconsistency is deliberate.1 point

Unconscious bias is real and when 4 of the top referees are all Celtic supporters or from Celtic supporting backgrounds and the likes of Frank Connor and Alan Mulvaney as linesman, the latter who is a big Celtic supporter from Blantyre. There seems to be this odd phenomena of Connor and Mulvaney running straight down the tunnel after the officiate Rangers games when normal protocol is to join the referee in the centre circle and be the last in. There was a video going around youtube/twitter I cant find at the moment for Mulvaney a few instances of him doing this and in particular blanking Gerrard for a handshake. Here is a video of Barisic talking to Collum and the other linesman after the game on Sunday.1 point

Gerrard did it and got a pitch side suspension. Maybe we're doing it behind closed doors. Maybe no one is listening because Scotland is a country run by Scottish and Irish nationalist twats who despise everything about Rangers Football Club. Whining only works if you have certain characteristics. Not that I approve of that sort of thing anyway, as it's unbecoming of a man.1 point
