  1. Jason Cummings needs to do better than those sunglasses and the Besiktas t-shirt as a disguise.

  2. The board have their faults but have backed Wilson and Gio this window. However worth noting that the money we are using has came into the club via Europa League run, record season ticket sales, merchandise sales and most importantly the sale of Bassey and Aribo. Whilst the board deserve praise so does everyone of us who invests in the club via RTV, Season Tickets, corporate, sponsorship, tickets, merchandise etc. In short, it's a combined effort 🙂

  3. I have to hand it to the Board; they don't fuck around these days. Tav, as part of his contract negotiations, demanded a personal chef. His wish was their command.....

  4. Well my main thought was more in line with longevity. I appreciate your correct insight regarding the rhats. Just because Postitcogglue (I don't give a shit how it's spelt) went out and signed a clown car full of midgets doesn't ease my fear. Speed works when it works, but speed breaks too...a lot. Don't mind me...it's in my DNA to worry.

  5. To be fair i thought the same when the rotten mob went out and bought a bunch of little Japanese lads, a tiny croat full back, the smallest man in Israel for right wing and a compact George Michael lookalike winger from Portugal. I thought they would get bodied by the SPFL jobbers. I was very wrong.

  6. I think he is in his last year of Wolves deal. Agree with your findings from what i seen of the lad.

  7. Been lookin into this Cutrone kid. Not a goal machine, and i don't think it's system related. Since leaving ACM he has played at three clubs and has not performed to his previous standard. If Rangers can get him on a deeeeeeeeeeeply discounted "loan to buy" he is worth a swing. There is talent in the kid for sure.

  8. Cutrone is an interesting one. He's a traditional #9. I remember when he came through at Milan, doing very well in Serie A for one so young (20 yrs). Then Gattuso gets appointed and he doesn't get any games. I was surprised when Wolves signed him, because I thought he was still well regarded, despite a poor season. I don't think Wolves overpaid at the time. He hasn't settled, though. He wasn't given game-time at Wolves, and was loaned out to Valencia and Fiorentina. I wonder if taking a step down to our level might suit him? As opposed to Serie A and PL. If we can get him for a reasonable price, give him game-time, get his confidence back up, he could do a job and then get sold back to Serie A in a couple of years.

  9. Could be, but also could be because we need more than Colak in given Morelos is out till next month and Roofe is even further away. If we sign Cutrone you would have to think we will be looking to offload Roofe - at least I hope that is the play, would rather see Roofe go and us get Alfie signed up to a longer term deal.

  15. Two sides of PQ. Friends again is the message. The new found camaraderie took a BBC Scotland cameraman and Journalist up the marble staircase and into the Rangers trophy room. David Mason welcomed both, introduced the Walter Tull cup and, told the trials and tribulations of the life of one of the first black players in British football. Walter was raised in a London orphanage alongside his brother, Edward. At the age of 20, Walter began a professional football career that took him to three clubs in England. He had a season at Clapham, three at Spurs and, three at Northampton Town. Meanwhile, Edward had been adopted by a Glasgow family, privately educated, he attended Glasgow Dental School and, became(reputedly) Glasgow's first black Dentist. In 1914, Walter signed for Rangers because he wanted to be closer to his brother. World War One intervened, Walter joined the Middlesex Regiment and, Edward the RAMC. Edward survived the conflict and married a Glasgow girl. Sadly, the now commissioned Walter fell in the Spring of 1918, thus never played for our club. In 2003, the Rangers Supporters Trust put up the Walter Tull Trophy to be contested by Rangers and Spurs each time they played a challenge match. It is a story worth telling and remembering and well done BBC Scotland for helping get the story out there. Susie McCabe? Susie McCabe's name has appeared frequently on this thread, she is a most regular guest on RAB Cosgrove and Tam Cowan's Off the Ball. She ticks RAB's boxes, - hates Rangers and Rangers supporters, Sellik supporter, big supporter of Scottish independence, near Dennistoun neighbour, Lesbian, Stand Up Comedian .............. etc. Susie is under RAB's tutelage, just like Angela Haggerty back in the day. RAB will help make Susie mainstream. She has already appeared on BBC's Question Time. Like Angela, Susie has a social media sectarian past. Of course, Susie can be assured Angela will NOT 'Call it Out'. Susie is addicted to the 'H' term, her Twitter feed was littered with accusations. Her latest is that Murdo Fraser MSP is a member of the Orange Order and celebrates the 17th century. Murdo's crime was to celebrate Tuesday's pre-season win over West Ham. Susie's hatred is her comfort blanket; last year at the Euros, she was booked to do her routine at the Glasgow Green FanZone. It was midweek, a quarter-final not involving England and of 200 tables, only a dozen were occupied. Susie died, came off stage to the sound of her own brogan footsteps and, Tweeted - "hard gig, thanx H-u-ns". Susie does not care for the fourth estate, in justifying her refusal to purchase a newspaper she Tweeted, "the fall of Der H-u-n proves how sh1te the Scottish media are". However, we know BBC Scotland will persevere because Susie's hatred is in the right place. Susie's 50 H-u-n a day habit is no different from RAB, Angela, Chris and Connie, .............. etc; she will continue to get the PQ gigs to allow them to condition her to hate more carefully. If you are unfortunate enough to ever find yourself a victim of Susie's interpretation of entertainment, i suggest you make a determined effort to find something marginally more humorous such as Janey Godley or a burning orphanage.

  16. To be honest, we have to pay our bills with cash and we still have little idea how much cash due to transfers is actually coming in or going out in the current financial year. The headline figure mentioned in buying or selling contracts tells us something about the balance sheet but very little about whether or not we are trading profitably.

  17. I'd be interested to know how often Empoli strikers reach double figures in Serie A. A bit of a yoyo club iirc so goals may be hard to come by

  18. Empoli were in Serie A last season. It was the season before they were in Serie B. He wasn't playing for them then.

  19. A bit of flesh to Patrick Cutrone`s rumour. He is only 24, in his last year at Wolves, who have 3 more centre-forwards, who are seemingly ahead of him in the packing order. He`s played 213 games, 79 goals, 18 assists, of which in Serie A 120 (21 goals, 8 assists), 14 in the EPL (2, 0), in Primavera B 31 (22, 3) and Primavera A 22 (19, 3). All in all, some healthy stats for that age, experience and goals-wise. We might try a deal for a loan here, or a cut-down fee, which we are likely to recover from a future sale. Cutrone`s stats at TM

  23. I thought the thread title was a question posing to the Gersnetters of their best European Away Day! Of the 45 away Euro ties I have been to, my top three are probably Leverkusen (98), Lyon (07) and of course Florence (08) Worst three were Maribor (11) Zenit (08) and Progres (17)

  24. It says they signed that guy from AC Milan for £16m...ion 2019. I know they are gonna move him on a discount but... On a separate note...these English clubs have more money than sense. They pay through the nose for players...then run through 2, 3, 4 managers...and then it's... "It just hasn't worked out for him in England" Well no shit Sherlock! How many managers has this clown car of a club had since this kid has been there?

  26. Devine is more a right back I think. Either Davies or Sands could cover if Yilmaz is missing.

  27. I guess it's always the same - we'll never know if Devine is ready until or unless we give him a chance in competitive games.

  28. This is shaping up to be a complete overhaul of the squad - the very pleasing part is that we seem to be strengthening the positions that we all felt needed strengthened. With Lawrence and Matondo hitting the ground running - and Colak too in fairness (he scored a peach last weekend albeit offside, and he holds the ball up well too) and others coming in and doing well (Souttar looks very solid and assured), and others still to get minutes such as Tillman and Davies - there is much to be excited about. I felt we had the best team and squad last year anyway, despite the league table, and we have, IMHO, definitely strengthened - we have lost Aribo but Lawrence already looks like an able replacement (with Tillman still to be seen) and we have lost Bassey but Souttar has looked solid with Davies still to see action. And then we may also see another LB come in, plus this Italian striker.... I think Ross Wilson looks to have played an absolute blinder in this window. Bring this new season on - I'm not settling for anything less than the quadruple....

  29. I don't think any Rangers supporter should be questioning the commitment and ambition of our board of directors during this transfer window. If anything, their approach has been quite robust.

  31. From the guy who told me about the 2 signings the other week (some of below already known and nothing earthshattering or to get over excited about as yet 🙂). Yilmaz is deffinatly a target and we are in discussions and the add ons appear to be the stumbling block. Borna has intimated to the club that he would move on if club need to shift him, but he is also happy to stay and if he does stay, he'll be 100% focussed on Rangers. There could be 3 fringe players leaving - deals being negotiated so don't know if that's contract termination or sale (I would hope sale). Rumours (mentioned on a few sites and social media platforms) of two medicals booked for tomorrow were neither confirmed nor denied but he did say that if medicals are arranged may not necessarily be for 1st team it could be for woman's team or B team. EDIT - apologies @Gonzo79 don't why I "quoted" your post regarding Borna 🙂
