Aye, but you seem to think all of our players are shite.4 points

This is pleasing, will be popular, and is well merited. Perhaps he is not quite up there with Young, Caldow, Greig, Gough, and some others, but he came close in Seville, and now has a few seasons to elevate himself to The Pantheon. Go for it, Tav!!3 points

From the guy who told me about the 2 signings the other week (some of below already known and nothing earthshattering or to get over excited about as yet 🙂). Yilmaz is deffinatly a target and we are in discussions and the add ons appear to be the stumbling block. Borna has intimated to the club that he would move on if club need to shift him, but he is also happy to stay and if he does stay, he'll be 100% focussed on Rangers. There could be 3 fringe players leaving - deals being negotiated so don't know if that's contract termination or sale (I would hope sale). Rumours (mentioned on a few sites and social media platforms) of two medicals booked for tomorrow were neither confirmed nor denied but he did say that if medicals are arranged may not necessarily be for 1st team it could be for woman's team or B team. EDIT - apologies @Gonzo79 don't why I "quoted" your post regarding Borna 🙂3 points

Seven years! Tav has made a huge contribution to the re-emergence of our club and has to be the best signing in many a year.3 points

Normally no, but when Borna's form goes sideways every year...very much so. We need to buy Borna a service animal for when he goes to that 'bad place' mentally every season.3 points

"A disagreement between BBC Scotland and Rangers FC has limited the BBC's ability to report from Ibrox Stadium over a long period of time." I having difficulty seeing the climbdown in those words. It implies the BBC couldn't report from Ibrox when in actual fact they could have done so at any time but refused to do so. The BBC acknowledges a dispute and even its own role in creating it but completely fails to admit that the decision not to report on Rangers was its alone.3 points

That really is great news. Much deserved too.2 points

Borna can be a cracking LB and his delivery (from wide positions) is the best at the club.2 points

@ian1964should write back to BBC London and tell them that he was correct in his complaints as BBC Scotland have admitted wrong-doing and that their complaints system isn't for for purpose.2 points

Devil's Advocaat, You are correct in saying, "I don't think we exactly win"; however, I think Compo is also correct in paraphrasing Rangers are not the winner. Seven years, BBC Scotland deliberately took Rangers supporters License Fees and provided a much lesser service to the Rangers support. They knew elderly, infirm, hospitalised and, Gers fans in remote areas had little or no access except through the national broadcaster. Pacific Quay laughed up their sleeves, taking their substantial salaries(part paid by our payment of license fees) and triumphantly celebrating their on going preferred prejudice. During the last four years, BBC Scotland did NOT speak once to a major world football figure, Steven Gerrard because he managed Rangers. PQ is half a mile from Ibrox. In the same period, they provided NO coverage to Rangers winning the Premiership(title confirmed after St Mirren defeated at Ibrox) and, failed to provide any live commentary for anyone of nearly 40 home European games. Of course, there was another narrative propagated by BBC Scotland. Their reporter was intimidated and barred from Ibrox. Chris McLaughlin lost his Press privileges due to constant lack of objectivity whilst reporting on Rangers. BBC Scotland promoted Chris twice, he is BBC Scotland's 'Sports News Correspondence'. Again, in part we paid for his corresponding increases in salary and conditions. I welcome BBC Scotland's admission of failure to apply objective Editorial standards and accept their apologies but, they have NEVER and will NEVER do to another club what they did to our club and support.2 points

Tbh I'm alright with idiots commenting on us, as most people can see through them, and the folk that can't are of a similar ilk to the idiots. I mean, who really cares what Sutton or Boyd says?. And I'm old and wise enough to accept others views.2 points

There are so many ways to signal support for genuine anti-racism campaigns, without kneeling to copy a marxist rip-off mob. I only hope football teams will stop this empty virtue signalling soon.2 points

To talk about "experts" these people are only so in their own egoistic minds you only have to listen to the drivel on MOTD spouted by Linekar and all.1 point

Looks like he'd be a very good signing, very much fits the profile too. Slight concern over recent injury record, but that’s me just being very cautious.1 point

I do personally think we overpaid for Kent and BB does have major spells where he is way off it but I still wouldn't literally give them away!1 point

I think he was talking about Barisic rather than Kent. Either way, he's still talking nonsense.1 point

I'm assuming they won't need to pay for any access. Up to them to send someone and/or request.1 point

We enter into the EPL transfer market bubble and we will have to pay over the odds, period. Best to shop elsewhere. That said, Kent has been an excellent player for us and you could argue that In Europe, he has repaid the club a large chunk of the 7M.1 point

Don't know about becoming an expert, but I'd far rather form my own opinions than use those of someone online, who I've never even met, even if they are valid. No disrespect the the 26th, I do enjoy his outpourings 😀1 point

People all round quickly confuse Euros with pound Sterling. IMHO, they want Euro 6m plus a sell on fee. Do we really want to buy a leftback-back-up for 5+m?1 point
-
Apparently still a 10% sell on...1 point

Is there a sell-on clause in the Bassey transfer? Maybe we don't know but the deal was originally reported as €22m + 5m of addons and a sell-on clause, but it's now €23m + 3.5m of add-ons and no sell-on clause. Was there a renegotiation that have us slightly more upfront, changed the nature of the add-ons (perhaps got rid of unrealistic ones) and the sell-on clause disappeared as part of that?1 point

Has anyone said they're an expert or wants to become an expert on BBC Scotland football output? Dear God, I hope not. 🤣1 point

An agreement in this case will involve levels of compromise on both sides. If such an agreement was ever to take place, that was inevitable. The precise details of that will be hidden behind a carefully worded statement. That is how it works. Those who claim to both never consume the broadcasters output, yet are also experts on the subject seem to want blood, rather than such compromise. The detail of which, they don't actually know. Rangers have to think of coverage, publicity and a great deal of our supporters who would like to have their club covered on the national broadcaster. It is also about encouraging upcoming generations of potential supporters. We are in the process of normalising/improving many aspects of the club. This process began in March 2015 and ironically it wasn't long after when this whole McLaughlin/BBC thing started or perhaps more accurately, became official. Prior to that, the beeb actually took the side of the club or at least the spivs in their efforts to keep Rangers fans onside but that meant it allowed itself to be used a conduit against those (on the outside) with the best interests of the club, eg. Dave King (who via Jim Traynor ended up showing McLaughlin the door). Those aspects that we are looking to build and improve, from commercial to the football operation include media and we can't continue to be a club who are constantly at war with everyone. A first step and of course, don't expect loving coverage as per any club´s own media channel. ps. can't help but feel that Kenny McIntyre has been instrumental in pushing this from from their side.1 point

To my mind this is a complete climb down by BBC Scotland. Rangers have had to concede nothing and BBC Scotland are, in effect, accepting that Rangers have been in the right all along. I expect the punditry will continue to have an anti Rangers slant, at least in the short term. Should they not meet the editorial standards, I'm sure we'll be having a quiet word with them to put them right. I wonder what it was that brought this U turn about. Pressure from London? Maybe SG has been having a quiet word with those in power (outside Scotland)1 point

You do that in every aspect of your life Compo? How's it worked out for you?1 point

Watched the second half, didn`t see the first two goals though (well, they are in the highlights above). That kickabout in defence for the last 15-20 mins with West Ham pressing gave me shivers. Why is it so hard to kick the ball up the park, even rugby-style into touch in their half, but spare us that harakiri-defending? As pointed out above, depending on the opposition at hand, we should change formations. While it is useful to play 4-3-3 against better opposition and suss them out, it shouldn`t be the way ahead in Scotland. Especially with 3 DMs and hardly any sort of creativity. We saw that these last two games, with our wing-attackers being mopped up and Colak rather isolated. Obviously, we could replace Wright with Matondo, but that needs to be tested too.1 point

I know that it makes good business sense. I know that this is our "trading model". I know that he only played regularly in the first team for one season, but I'm still sad that Calvin Bassey is leaving. His enthusiasm and desire was something to witness. I hope he continues to develop as a player and hope I'll be able to watch him on TV in Europe.1 point
