  1. Can't get anything right with this guy. Transfer fee wrong, had him down as being Welsh and now get told that I can't spell his surname by a German !! 😁

  2. I believe that we had an interest in him. The hooped whores offered St Mirren more dough, apparently; the lad spoke to the bush kangaroo, in person, and still found it in himself to say "No, thanks". My researcher reports that the boy is from Covenanter Country, in Ayrshire, and that his family are Rangers through and through. He is certainly admired as a player, and, it seems, would walk barefoot over broken glass to play for Rangers. What's not to like?

  4. My hopes for tonight are an energetic, cohesive performance with our most important players getting good time on the pitch... and no injuries!

  5. I've never heard of him. I've no idea if he is any good as I've never noticed him before. What I do know for certain, based on this fact alone, is that he is one for the future of our transfer threads.

  6. We looked at lot more creative after going to a 4-2-3-1 after the break. Another Gio tactical adjustment pays dividends.

  7. Devastating goals, I thought Sands was excellent when he came on, the best I have seen him play. We are looking good as we progress through our preseason. Great performance overall, looks like we have finally solved our right winger problem.

  8. Craig Houston Appointed Club 1872 Development Manager Dear Contributor Club 1872 is pleased to announce that Craig Houston has taken up the new role of Development Manager for the organisation. Craig previously served Club 1872 as a Director, receiving the largest share of votes at the first ever Club 1872 elections. The Development Manager role will see him tasked with increasing awareness and attracting new members. The Club 1872 Directors are delighted that Craig has accepted the offer to return to the organisation and believe that his experience and skill set will be a great asset. The Board wishes to expand and grow the organisation and this new role is part of many new initiatives being introduced and researched. Craig said: “Club 1872 is already the largest constituted body of Rangers fans and a major shareholder in the club. It can purchase shares and invest in projects that are beneficial to the Rangers community. Both these features should be viewed positively by fans, the club, and the PLC Board." "Rangers fans need no reminder of the club’s history since 2012 and Club 1872 provides a vehicle for fans to engage positively and have a say in any key decisions of major shareholders. The more Contributors we have, the bigger this influence will be and the more Rangers Football Club will benefit from that engagement.” With a career in Sales Management, Craig is aware that Club 1872 must evolve as it grows: “I am keen to develop procedures that make it easier and advantageous for fans to contribute to Club 1872. The true value of the organisation cannot be met until it becomes the norm for Rangers fans to also be Club 1872 Contributors. Recent history has shown us that our fans can influence change at our club and have an incredibly positive impact. Club 1872 can ensure a brighter, better future for Rangers”. “It is easy to forget after occasions such as “55” and Seville that fans can and should play a part in making sure we do not return to the mistakes of the past. Genuine fan engagement can improve the decisions made by the custodians of the club and go some way to preventing a return to our darkest days. Club 1872 can provide that if we can further increase our membership. That will be my aim.”

  9. Quite like Craig, always gotten along well with him. However not convinced this appointment will make much of a difference as for all intents and purposes Club 1872 under its present stewardship is beyond redemption for the vast majority of the fanbase. Club 1872 will limp along throwing a few bob in King's direction every now and again but unlikely to be a serious player in the game.

  10. I thought that was a decent 1st half against a good side, we never really troubled them and they hardly troubled us. I do see Colak isn't getting much support again, he is isolated up front and needs help.

  12. I do not criticise the man personally. It does strike me that he will have his work cut out, em....building bridges - with the Board, and with the support, including ex-C1872 contributors.

  13. Agreed. Time will tell if he is good enough, but his name should certainly be on our DoF's rolodex.

  14. Is it the kind of appointment which will reset the relationship between Club 1872 and large swathes of the support? Far be it from me to speculate, but if I was a betting man.....

  15. With so many new faces, GvB has to use these friendly games to experiment, assess and verify. There's no way he can afford to focus only on winning tonight. The aim has to be to win our CL qualifier, not to beat West Ham or Spurs.

  17. I don't know Craig at all and haven't been convinced by the direction of Club1872 in recent times but I hope the move works out for all concerned. I do think we need a strong, independent fans' organisation (and voice) but I suspect many will be fed up with the mistakes surrounding such across the last 20 years or so.

  18. I've no axe to grind with Craig but my initial reaction is that this is potentially a strange move. Craig himself has been openly critical of aspects of club management, as I and I'm sure many others have been, but it doesn't seem like the kind of appointment that is going to reset the relationship between the club and C1872. Happy to be corrected of course.

  22. It is what it is. My main concern is that we don't let ourselves down like we did last season against Malmo.

  23. I see Dylan Reid at St Mirren has turned down a transfer to them. Believe he’s a bear but don’t know much more than that. Anyone think he’s one for the future?

  25. Suppose I’m in a bit of a minority here but I’m pleased Glasgow City Council has recognised Rangers 150th birthday. Like UEFA did too. Maybe the yahoo pond life & others will now realise that their relentless crusade about Rangers being a new club since 2012 is futile & just makes them look even more moronic than they really are

  28. Nailing Jelly to the Wall. Yep, Kenny Macintyre has succeeded Reinhardt Gordon as the Saturday 'Open All Mikes' Sportsound Presenter on BBC Radio Scotland. Kenny is a self confessed Bluenose and, the usual suspects do not let him forget. His nickname at PQ is 'the Token' because they have to have one, to allow the Gang Hut to portray themselves as objective. Big Dick has become Cove Rangers PRO but, will continue to present Sundays and midweeks on BBC Radio Scotland. Dandy Don propaganda will fall more on the shoulders of Liam McLeod, Jonathon Sutherland, Rob McLean, Wullie Miller, ...................... etc. The most popular Rangers hating website and a constant reference point for BBC Scotland is, 'Pie and Bovril'. RAB Cosgrove is most fond of quoting the site. It has a Sportsound thread and since Macintyre's promotion has been announced, several pages of negative comments have been posted because, "he is a H-U-N". If you go through that several year running thread you find the comments on the confrontation between Kenny Macintyre and Michael Stewart a couple of seasons past. Just like Cosgrove and Cowan complaining about the stench hanging around the studio because Kenny Macintyre shat himself at being confronted by truth, Pie and Bovril cheered Michael Stewart to the echo. Of course, eighteen months down the line; what Macintyre said to Stewart that evening has rung true. Rangers, Rangers supporters and, James Traynor were NOT present to defend themselves from Michael's ludicrous accusations but righteous Michael ploughed on and, three months past he issued broadcast(on Twitter) apologies to Rangers, Rangers supporters and, James Traynor. You will not hear those apologies on the national broadcaster like, you will not read about them on Pie and Bovril. Inconvenient news will not be broadcast nor acknowledged. Kenny Macintyre has been boxed, the bracketing tightly applied. Consider, if Kenny Macintyre was to do any of the below substituting Rangers or Rangers player for any other club, how long will he last? Reinhardt Gordon broadcast live that Edinburgh Zoo have accepted the transfer of Rangers player, Filip Sebo they plan to exhibit him. Michael Stewart in that aforementioned incident stated, "I don't like how they do things as a club, I don't like Rangers". Chris McLaughlin began a match report with, "Police have arrested four Rangers supporters for sectarian chanting". Positive reporting of Rangers at PQ is akin to nailing jelly to the wall. "Aspiring small independent nations". Above is a favoured phrase of RAB Cosgrove. These last twenty years, RAB has been keen to relay every burp and fart that has emanated from Sri Lanka, an aspiring small nation state taking it's seat at the table of world affairs. RAB is married to a Sri Lankan, holidays annually on the island, owns a coastal villa with infinity pool, expresses his pride at his son's mixed heritage, ............... etc. Often, he concludes with something along the lines of, 'Scotland should similarly aspire'. Nationalism is a legitimate expression of politics and like Kenny Macintyre's football preference, RAB's political preference should be constantly flagged. Inconvenient news is ignored and what is currently occurring in Sri Lanka is being absolutely ignored by RAB. The President has fled the country, the whereabouts of the Prime Minister are unknown and, the residences of both have been invaded by the peoples of the island. the food and fuel situation is so desperate, they are appealing to Vladimir Putin to help out. Of course, those ruling Sri Lanka are a long established family dynasty. Similarly, in Scotland we have Nicola as First Minister for eight years, her husband, Peter Murrell has been SNP Chief Executive for 22 years and, RAB in his seventieth year continues to broadcast. I suspect we can draw parallels between the Establishment in both aspiring small nations? When RAB is not constantly waving the flag, he constantly self promotes. RAB has penned a few books and his Beeb Producer constantly allows mentions and contrived stories of visits to book festivals. RAB has a considerable property portfolio in the countries to be sustained. It is the Establishment way. Anyways on Saturday last, RAB and Tam's substitute, right on Partick Thistle man, Ray Bradshaw hosted a show that talked about football. Craig Levein and Craig Easton were the guests and take all the credit for the discussion topic. RAB was intent upon burdening the listeners with his impending visit to the Alma Mater, Hull University. They are awarding RAB with another Honorary Doctorate. In an establishment tone RAB told us, "this is my sixth Doctorate". At least he can nail them to the wall, or the door of his island villa to keep Sri Lankans from investing his infinity pool.
