I don't think it is a good idea to post a pic of yourself on here tbh.6 points

I have it on good authority that Salonika CSC will only allow entry to those wearing the green and white hooped rag. Furthermore, it must be of the more "ripe" variety, with at least 6 months since it's last wash. I believe the wearer, preferably, should have dodged soap for a considerable undefined period as well? Are you able to comply with these stringent conditions @Gonzo79?4 points

Good article regarding our recent transfer activity https://fourladshadadream.blog/2022/07/18/rangers-hit-another-financial-jackpot-what-it-could-mean-for-the-club-and-ben-davies-set-to-arrive/3 points

There is only Colak, fit, up front as far as I can see. No Itten, no Defoe, Alfredo injured, and Roofe, well, who knows? If Sakala leaves, does this not leave the squad threadbare, assuming we can class him as a cf or striker? There doesn't appear to be a natural stand-in for Colak, should he get injured, suspended, whatever. I actually like Sakala's enthusiasm and unpredicability, but he may have too much of the Ted McMinn about him for Roy Makaay.3 points

It amazes me that our club/ fans are now happy to settle for second best a few decent displays doesn’t compensate for a sub standard league challenge and plenty of dross performances. By the way I cleared £1040 ar Ayr races today 😊2 points

… making the point that widespread criticism by Sheffield Utd fans, justified or not, had zero bearing on his performances at Rangers. Unlike geology, in football the present is seldom a guide to the past2 points

Old Army mate married a Belgian girl and opened a Boutique Hotel in Blankenberge. Anyways, Tam is a Hibee and we have remained in occasional e-mail contact over the years. He was most impressed with Union Saint-Gilloise last season, a real surprise package. As Bluedell has alluded, they have the same owner as Brighton and Hove Albion, Tony Bloom. There had been a cross pollination of players, two of Union's most important, influential players were Mintoma and Undav. They have both been returned to Brighton for this season. Tam was impressed with their front three, all fluid and rapid. He claimed the top Belgian sides had more success later in the season, denying supply of the ball to the front three.2 points

What would a para know about the old double paddle approach? Been reading up on your Cockleshell Heroes again ? Huistra was our only successful thruster that night. We really should have won the game.2 points

Union Saint-Gilloise's recent pre-season games saw them draw 0-0 with Brighton, draw 1-1 with Sporting and pump Feyenoord 0-4. This will be a tricky tie.2 points

He has said there is definite interest in Sakala but on-loan with option to buy. We are looking for cash upfront to put towards a replacement. He has not heard (or not saying) anything about the other two 😀 no nods, shakes or winks either 😥1 point

Sakala and Kamara possibly leaving, Billy Gilmour returning from Chelsea training camp (and a private flight landing in Glasgow tonight). 2+2=347?1 point

Did they mention (no) interest ? At this rate, the transfer thread is going to explode soon. All a bit close to CL qualifiers but if you don't qualify directly, this is what can happen. Gio is going to have to be more a magician than a manager for it all to be up to speed on time.1 point

Seem to be linked with all of our players over time but they are toilet and I doubt any of our players go there or see it as a step up.1 point

If you look back at our record against clubs from Belguim in European competition, it is excellent and whisper it, but I've found these trends tends to continue. Example We tend to stroll by Danish teams, 8 wins, 2 drwaws and 0 defeats...... ...but cross the border(or bridge) and Swedish clubs send us packing, 0 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats. We give a good account of ourselves against the Germans but can't do diddly squat against the Spanish. Anyway, back to the Belguims 8 wins 1 draw 1 defeat A couple from the distant past when Compo was a mere lad 59/60 Home and away victories against Anderlecht, 7-2 on aggregate The defeat came with a 4-1 reverse against Standard Liege in a 1962 European Cup quarter Final which put us out 3-4 on aggregate. Fast forward 30 years...... 92/93 Club Brugge (First ever CL Group Stage) Legendary 2-1 comeback at home with 10 men #Nisbetstunner Frustrating draw in Belguim that we should have won. Another nearly 30 years and the other end of the book shelf is 4 wins from 4 in the Steven Gerrard European Wonder years, in 2020/21... Standard Liege revenge 3-2 at Ibrox 0-2 win #Roofestunner Then it was the Antwerp goalfest H: 5-2 A: 3-4 Aggregate: An historic 9-5 I make that 27 goals scored by Rangers in 10 matches1 point

Mount Olympus or North Berwick Law certainly poses a bit of a tough choice. Apparently there's a Celtc Supporters Club in Salonika, I'll nip in there because they're bound to have our game on.1 point

Should have gone to North Berwick, as usual.1 point

Ok, so we can put this often used Lundstram argument to bed. Lundstram, sucked ass his last season with SU. He played less, contributed to less goals, and was penalized more. He was supposed to be an integral part of their team, A team that was relegated. I think they may have just a bit of an argument. 19-20 20-211 point

Yeah mate, we've all read your posts! 😁 Just kidding... though football fans and forums are notoriously fickle playgrounds and the internet is not reality. We just need to wait and see how players perform. Many signings have been received to much expectation, excitement and acclaim, but not even been close to working out. Filip Sebo anyone?1 point

Owned by Tony Bloom, who also owns Brighton. Got promoted, with last season being their first in the top division for 49 years. Finished top of the table, then ended up 2nd after the play-off. Got a couple of English players who don't look up to much.1 point

Dortmund, Braga, Crvena Zvezda and Leipzig (plenty more as well, in recent seasons) - some of the best nights I've experienced at Ibrox.1 point

That's how I see it. We have one dependable centre back (Goldson) and two who are (very likely) unreliable (Helander and Souttar). The signing of Davies means we now have two reliable and solid centre-backs. Edit - I forgot to mention Sands and King who are also very capable at CB. The stats on Davies show he is a good defender but with some weaknesses. His general defensive stats are very good, good at interceptions and a high ground duels win %. His passing, movement and attacking stats are generally very good. In terms of weaknesses he is clearly not an aggressive player from his stats. Doesn't engage in many duels and he is mediocre in the air. He also has an exceptionally low shots blocked rating, no idea why that would be. £4m a tad high if that's what we pay, but a very solid signing that makes centre back a strong position (providing Helander and Souttar time their injuries conveniently for us). He’s also an improvement on Bassey in the air and an improvement on Bassey at CB in terms of reading of the game and positioning probably.1 point

I think Davies is a solid Championship player; he'll play the majority of games for any side in that league. Liverpool made a move for him - albeit as an emergency, that they ideally didn't want to make - so he must have some ability. He is a CB that can play LB, so he has some versatility to him. He's primarily a CB, though; he'll not be a rampaging FB. We probably need that? At 26, just coming into his peak, he could have a sell-on value. It won't be much, though. I see it as a Goldson-type situation: £3m for a solid CB, that can play the majority of games, represents decent value. He's a tad expensive at £4m, but we're maybe paying for the 2 years he has left on his contract and his versatility. If he plays a good number of games over the next 2-3 years, £3-4m is not a lot, IMO.1 point

But if he stays he only has 2 years left and if he does not sign a contract extension the money we will get for him will drop drastically next year, if he was on a 3 or 4 year contract I would agree to keep hold of him he is absolutely brilliant but he is not and after the Goldson saga and Aribo leaving for alot less than we could have received because he was not tied down makes me think we should cash in if a player does not want to sign a contract with 2 years left we need to stop letting players run down their contracts.1 point
