Rangers Fans - WE WANT NEW SIGNINGS. Rangers - here is a new signing and another on the way. Rangers FANS- WE DONT WANT THESE SIGNINGS THEY'RE CRAP.5 points

PAOK finished second in the league and have the third biggest support in Greece. Anyway, we brought in two players from huge clubs (Juve and Man Utd) last season, neither of which worked out very well...4 points

We aren't going to be able to get a 10M+ valued player to replace Aribo. However, give Lowry a chance and he MAY be worth more than 10M by the end of the year.3 points
-
Rated at £10M - that's us out then.2 points

I think we also need to bear in mind when looking at the overall summer spend that the likes of Lawrence will no doubt have negotiated a sign-on fee and/or higher wages since he's a free agent.2 points
-
What these signings do do dodoo is strengthen areas of the pitch in which we are quite light, for next to nothing. In that regard, I'm happy. However, let me whinge! I just don't like the profile of these guys. Hopefully we sign some guys with the correct profile - and then I'll be quite content with these guys.2 points

I see Roofe is injured again. As much as it’s not a surprise when you look at Colak and Lawrence they are available for most games. So that’s a big positive with both players.2 points

FWIW I've heard we will announce another singing early next week (probably on loan) and once Aribos deal has been concluded /completed, we'll announce another singing. No names given / mentioned at this time. Guy who told me was same guy who told me 2 players in Manchester for medical/signing talks earlier this week.2 points

Purely in the interests of broadening the choice, the best goalkeeping performance I ever witnessed took place at Pittodrie in an obscure midweek game in early 1993 that I'm sure no one else will remember. How we won the game 1-0 instead of being thrashed 7-0 remains a mystery. Aberdeen absolutely hammered us for 90 minutes, stopped only by Andy Goram pulling off one impossible save after another. It got to the stage where everyone there that night knew they'd be as well going home because there was no way he could be beaten. I've never seen anything remotely like it before or since.2 points

Absolutely no way anyone would pay £3m for him. He’s too injury prone & almost 301 point

No offense to Roofe, when healthy he is very good...WHEN he is healthy. Having stated that...would you buy that guy? I wouldn't. I think we may have to let his contract run out...same as Helander...really good CB but that injury bug...1 point

I reckon we have one decent transfer fee in us, more if we sell Bassey.. They appear to want a minimum of £6m. No idea if this is who we need but midfield is becoming the place to spend money on - Jack's injuries, Davis' age, Aribo gone, Arfield's age, Kamara's inconsistency.1 point

Rangers review reporting Hagi out until after the world Cup. I wonder if the loan Cammy mentioned earlier in the thread is a short term #10 to replace Aribo until Hagi comes back. McAtee from City been mentioned.1 point

Doesn’t matter if they choose to be injured or not. If they can’t play they won’t win us many matches.1 point

I think your whinge is fair, but it should be seen in context of the overall squad composition at the end of the window. We need to blend the young guns with experienced pros in their prime, with the older heads who lead the dressing room and set the standards.1 point

For as long as players like Jack or Roofe or Helander are still at Rangers, it's important they are not pilloried by the support for being injured. They wouldn't choose to be injured and all of them will play their part this season, just probably not as often as we would like. Kemar Roofe will still score vital goals and win key matches. Ryan Jack will still be the best midfield talent at the club.1 point

I see these two as players who should be able to score relatively consistently in the SPFL - something we missed last season.1 point

I really thought we had left behind the days of "the higher the price, the better the deal". Seems to me there are never any guarantees, regardless of the size of the transfer fee. What we are showing now is an ability to be both prudent and smart ... Jack, Kamara, Aribo, Bassey, Lundstram, etc. In large measure, football is a business run by third rate chancers and players' careers are often dependent on luck rather than judgement. I think there are plenty of John Lundstrams out there, with the ability to have gone much further if judged more diligently. The directors of Rangers have shown they understand this and refuse to get suckered into a big spend mentality.1 point

Yes - the loan may happen anyway, the other signing is dependent on Aribo sale. Also working on new contracts for Alfie and Kent.1 point

Look at the team that night. How could that XI be outplayed even by a very good Aberdeen side? Funny game, the football.1 point

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating by the time we can pass judgement on the new signings they will be a success or duds we will be lumped with until the end of the season , should be interesting .1 point

They are not, Bassey was originally for the B Team and our record transfer came via our B Team.1 point

As part of our season ticket package, we should receive a 24 hour ration pack. In that cardboard cube, delights such as Biscuits AB Brown, Spangles and, a fold out hexamine stove await. My favourites included Cheese Possessed and Apple and Apricot flakes. In Club 72, we receive a homemade Mental Lentil Soup at half-time, it is very good.1 point

B-team signings are entirely different.1 point

Have you missed the 4 or 5 signings we've made for the B Team?1 point

I think some Bears regularly forget what league we play in and our financial situation.1 point

We talk about a player trading model and are now taking baby steps towards it. Our direct rivals actually have one that has functioned fairly well for some years.1 point

The profile is similarly an issue, for me; 28/29-year-olds don't represent much sell-on value, if any. It's the reverse of signing Kamara, Aribo, Bassey, Hagi, etc.1 point
-
Not at all what I was hoping for at this stage of the window, but there is plenty time to bring in bigger signings. Aribo will be very hard to replace.1 point

A backup striker from a Greek diddy team and a free from a relegated championship side. Not the transfers I’d have hoped for but got to give these lads a chance to see what they can do. Still think the manager deserves more financial backing from the board but if it’s not there it’s not there.1 point

Between them or AIDS, I would lean toward the latter.1 point

Sheffield UTD. Nottingham Forest and Everton (Lampard connection) were also credited with an interest. Apparently had agreed personal terms with Sheffield UTD but chose us after talks over the last few days. So says my Derby supporting mate.1 point

Make a sandwich. Fancy bread and cheeses, as well as some nice tasty meat - still costs less than the fast food in a football stadium. Or stop and get food during the journey. Never rely on food where there's a captive market - it'll nearly always be overpriced crap.1 point

Except for those of us who have a 3 hour drive to the game and a 3 hour drive back home afterwards. Not to mention the 45 minute wait to get out of the fûcking car park.1 point

I'm definitely more on the fence than some. I think there's every chance he could be our top goalscorer next season though, so he could well prove a good signing in the grand scheme of things. In his favour, he has proven himself at the level of the Croatian league (141 mins per goal) and Swedish league (152 mins per goal). Those leagues are quite a bit below us in the rankings, but our league is carried by two teams so the level will be comparable (especially Croatia). His stats in those league show him to be a very good goalscorer and good in the air. A few things against him, he has flopped in Greece which is only a slight step up from Croatia imo. He was playing for the second best team there but kept out of the team by guys who weren't that good and when he did play his record was incredibly poor, one goal in 636 mins. His stats chart for his PAOK spells was very poor too. He did very little of note until 24. His creative stats are poor and movement stats average. He's 29 in a few months so a surprise to me to see us spending money like this on him tbh. Despite raising these more negative points, I do still believe he could score a lot of goals playing in a team like ours who create a lot of chances and could have a very successful season with us.1 point
