I'm definitely more on the fence than some. I think there's every chance he could be our top goalscorer next season though, so he could well prove a good signing in the grand scheme of things. In his favour, he has proven himself at the level of the Croatian league (141 mins per goal) and Swedish league (152 mins per goal). Those leagues are quite a bit below us in the rankings, but our league is carried by two teams so the level will be comparable (especially Croatia). His stats in those league show him to be a very good goalscorer and good in the air. A few things against him, he has flopped in Greece which is only a slight step up from Croatia imo. He was playing for the second best team there but kept out of the team by guys who weren't that good and when he did play his record was incredibly poor, one goal in 636 mins. His stats chart for his PAOK spells was very poor too. He did very little of note until 24. His creative stats are poor and movement stats average. He's 29 in a few months so a surprise to me to see us spending money like this on him tbh. Despite raising these more negative points, I do still believe he could score a lot of goals playing in a team like ours who create a lot of chances and could have a very successful season with us.

The least bit of transfer action at Rangers always propels the shitsniffers into a tailspin. It's good to be reminded again and again how fortunate we are not to be one of them.

Traffic wise, Gersnet is like a wee village, compared to the big city (FF). They would love you on there, really ! Thinking about it, prior to your arrival I'd say Gersnet was Haddington like and now it is a bit more Lochgellyish 😉😄

Improving EPL clubs perception of our players (Aribo doing well) might well be worth more to us, than the contractual add-ons.

Difficult to know exactly where the truth is as if the deal goes through, it'll remain undisclosed with various headline figures / focus on 'ITK' detail of the deal reported. Generally speaking, we have struggled to get top dollar for our players and in this case, we were not in a strong negotiating position. Indeed, it is a mystery to me why there isn't more firm interest in some of our players who have shown their ability consistently, at a high level in European football. We know for sure that Morelos was subject to a 16M bid from Lille that we rejected, apparently because we valued him higher. I thought we should have accepted it but that point is moot. The issue we have with our direct competition over the city, is that they do get paid top dollar for their players and over say a 3 year period. that amounts to a significant financial difference. Add it to ground capacity/10 year coefficent (income generated) and the difference (before a ball is kicked) will be sizable. We need the likes of Patterson and Aribo (if he goes) to rip it up down there and improve the perception of our club for producing/improving players to a level that can flourish in the EPL.

For me he can be a great ball playing centre back. When he plays in midfield he just looks like a centre back playing in midfield.

i think we have gambled a bit on him doing well. We could have got 10 million and no more. this way we may get more. TBH it's impossible to judge without knowing the full detail I suspect a chunk will be based on them staying up.

It's being reported that the Aribo deal is £6 million plus add-ons of up to £4 million and a sell-on clause. I'm not impressed, if that is the case. We should hence insisted on the full £10 million.
