Just cannot understand how anyone can think this is anything but a great deal. (Providing we get the £10m by whatever method.) Aribo has been a great player for us. Despite Bowyer's protestations when he signed, we developed him into a better player, he's won two medals and played in a major European final (in which he scored). However, he now wants to move on. It could be argued that those 70 games last season was just too many as he has looked a shadow of the player he was. Regardless of where in England he goes, he will play considerably less games given the superior squads and lack of Euro football. That and the huge increase in wages will compensate I'm sure. We will miss him but I think the time is right for him to move on.4 points

How is it crap? Crap would be losing him for nothing in less than 6 months time.3 points

What, sign a player for 250k, get 2 good years out of him, and punt him for 10 million?. Aye, terrible business.3 points

And the same dross at least 4 times a year.....3 points

A word of caution that many new and expensive players have joined Rangers in the summer, only to flop when competitive games came along. Better players should improve the team but new players guarantee nothing in themselves. What's important is what we do with the players on our books, new or old.3 points

The wages might make up for it but, no, Villa’s a better proposition than So'ton.3 points

I'm this scenario, Aribo would just see out the last year of his contract and walk away for nothing. Don't you think we've offered Aribo an extension? If he decided not to sign it, what are we to do? Lock him in a room and refuse to release him until he signs? £10M for a player who could sign a pre-contract in less than 6 months isn't derisory, it's good business.2 points

compo, we play in Scotland. If we want to attract young English prospects up here, then contracts like Aribo's are all part of that. I sometimes read Rangers forums and wonder where people get their ideas from...it certainly isn't in the real world.2 points

Considering we got him for next to nothing, we've had great value for money, he's going into the last year of his contract and most importantly, has a £10m release clause, I'd say £10m is a fantastic return. This is exactly what we need to be doing more of.2 points

An opening for young Lowry to step up2 points

First caller tonight. Best thing rodgers did was punt him. Despite the dross they have repeated lost millions on since he left.2 points

It isnt. This is being done out of a necessity. Of the 2006's only 6 have been handed contracts in the last two years. The desired quality isnt there, hence the mass influx of 16 yr old kids into the U18's. It isnt a change in direction of recruitment, it is a necessity because the locally sourced 2006's werent good enough.2 points

It's a short career and most players will try and make as much as possible during their career and I have no issues with that.2 points

And if you were a professional footballer it would also be 'just a job'.2 points

If someone wanted to double my wages, play me in a much better league and told me I'd no longer have to play competitive games on plastic pitches, I'd be off like a shot.2 points

If anyone seriously thought that when we signed this young guy 3 years ago that we would be getting £10million , you would have been sectioned . I love the guy as a footballer but this is a fantastic deal for us .1 point

I don’t care if we signed him for a bag of nuts the contract is crap1 point

Disappointed it's only 10 million but what a signing he has been. Mind celtc tried to get him he was on the list of signings they wanted the cleaner leaked. Shame Hagi isn't fit yet to replace him immediately.1 point

Do we have someone who could turn in the level of performance we got from Lundstrum in the second half of last season? not so sure. Kamara is the one I’d try to sell if we need to1 point

Agreed. I think a lot of people are constantly in need of something to be annoyed/upset/offended about these days. Rational men rarely shout and scream.1 point

We cannot have it both ways , we have several young players that need game time , we cannot keep buying first puck players and blocking path ways for McCann , Lowry , King etc etc . We have a really good squad , but we do need 1 striker , 1 wide right player and possibly 1 more attacking midfielder . Has it occurred to anyone that we might know our targets but are waiting for their teams to make them available , the hysteria on twitter and other forums is off the charts mental 🤔1 point

They must be better at left back given how gash Taylor is but they lost there best midfielder. They have spent 20 million to stand still.1 point

I think Sands is a bit of a utility player - can play RB, CD and DM. Very handy to have around.1 point
