  1. I only refer to one other ‘keeper as goalie (non league family friend before Goram’s time) Goram was - is - THE goalie.

  2. Drank wi him one night at a lock in, spent ages talking aboot how shite I thought Craig Moore was, he politely disagreed!. He then bought a bottle of vodka fae behind the bar and put it up for a game of killer. Which he won, easily of course. Was a cracking guy, an evening I'll never forget. God bless you and those gloves Goalie. 💙

  3. I suspect I have arrived at that stage? Recently, the likes of Alan Anderson, Davie Wilson and now, Drew Busby have all passed. I remember Drew Busby at Third Lanark, he scored their last ever goal. He reappeared at Airdrie and became a strong running centre with a regular goal touch. He played in a Diamonds team that finished sixth in the old First Division. A lot of folks of my generation will remember that Airdrie side - Black, Cowan, Whiteford, Busby, Jarvie, Wilson, Jonquin, ....... etc. In 1972, Rangers won the ECWC and Airdrie contested the texaco Cup final against Brian Clough's Derby County, losing 2-1 in a two legged final. Airdrie defeated Man City in the semi-final, Busby scoring home and away. It is strange. Hearts would have been a big step up for Busby in professional terms. Jambos have fond memories of Drew but, I remember Busby as an Airdrie player.

  4. The best on the planet during that time IMO. Only not recognised by the wider football world because he played in Scotland.

  6. Andy was a truly great goalkeeper, at times he seemed to perform miracles. But far more important is that he was cherished by the entire Rangers family while he was alive and his memory will be honoured by them for many years after his passing. Those of us who watched his play or knew him as a person were privileged indeed. Let's remember that.

  7. Absolutely heartbroken by this, what a few months we have had with Walter Jimmy Bell and now the goalie

  10. Carlsberg does not 'do' goalkeepers, but, if it did, there would be no 'probably' about it. Simply the best we have ever had.

  12. I suspect we will only find out the truth in next year’s financials when they are released.

  13. Rest easy Goalie. For 4/5 years in his prime he was the best in the world IMO. A sad day indeed.

  15. I think he will definitely be an upgrade, and on the loan thing it’s probably sensible. Really we have a big squad so unless we sell other than a RW or a box to box midfielder to partner lundstram we are well stocked. Would rather play Lowry than a loanee like McAtee if he is a number 10 type. I hope we can get Colak in quickly question marks over buffalos fitness and Roofe just can’t be relied on. Qualifiers in a few weeks.

  16. Itten was largely out of the picture. If we get Colak, he'll be challenging for a starting slot.

  17. Actually one game mate. Had we got, and converted, the two stonewall penalties we were denied against Celtic at Ibrox in March we would have won the league. Completely agree about some of the histrionics in here. Should we strengthen ? Yes. Will we lose the league if we don't ? Absolutely zero guarantee that happens if we keep this squad together. Some observations with respect to last season and our squad : 1. We were still very close to winning the league (see point above) 2. Our squad quite possibly were complacent last season - unacceptable, but understandable given the prior season invincible league campaign 3. Celtic benefitted more than us, by far, with "honest mistake" officiating. Aside from the 2 stonewall penalties that would have won us the league you can count a bunch of times they got a large slice of the "benefit of the doubt" 1. They scored an offside goal against Hearts to turn 1 point into 3 2. They scored another offside goal against Hearts that turned 1 point into 3. 3. They should have had a penalty given against them in the last minute at home to Livingston which would have turned 3 points into 1. 4. Then we have the penalty we should have had at Ibrox against Dundee Utd when Sakala was pulled back, that would have turned 1 point into 3 5. Then we have the draw at Tannadice when we were denied a stonewall penalty for handball which would have turned 1 point into 3 These are just off the top of my head and provide a 14 point swing (10 points for points 1 to 5 and 4 points from the OF game at Ibrox). The suggestions that we are way behind them if we go with this squad is quite preposterous IMHO
