Just hope it’s only as backup to McLaughlin, can see this ending in tears if he’s first choice.3 points

Any money we have should be spent on certain starters in key positions. Taking McGregor as an example. we could sign a Zander Clark or Siegrist and have a poorer free option as back up. We could spend millions that would be a waste. we could move McGregor to back up seems obvious to me. We certainly don't spend millions. Always assuming we aren't happy just to have McCrorie as back up which is also probably fine.3 points

Allan McGregor wouldn't be the chap we know he is if he ignored the reality of his situation. I think he'll be delighted to stay and make a contribution to the success of the team and I don't expect anything but professionalism in his attitude to supporting the other keepers whoever they are. Having him around the squad is a huge plus if the price is right for all.3 points

It's time to move on. Don't think we should have signed him unless we've no intention of bringing in another keeper and McCrorie is going out on loan.2 points

Have mixed feelings on this and just hope next season he doesn't let us and himself down.2 points

I think this would be the best for all parties, but, I just don't know if thats something McCrorie would be happy to do again. I agree though, 24 year goalkeeper is probably the equivalent of a 20/21year old outfield player, just starting out2 points

Robbie is 24. When McGregor was 24 he was on loan at Dunfermline. Long way to go. I suspect if McGregor stays as a backup McCrorie will go out on loan.2 points

I'm not too bothered about us wanting to have an experienced pro around but keeping Arfield, Davis and McGregor on seems a bit much. We need to freshen things up.2 points
-
Nah, Davis, Arfield and McGregor will all be well aware they're not going to be first choice. Despite his faults, I'd rather McGregor was pushing/supporting the likes of McLaughlin and McCrorie than a Siegrist that's for sure.2 points

Ian McCall Tells it as it is. Today, the Maryhill Magyars Manager, Ian McCall appeared on Off the Ball with RAB and Tam and slaughtered the Chairman of the SPFL, Murdoch MacLennan. Of course, that robust organ, Private Eye refer to big, BIG Sellik man, MacLennan as, "Shifty McGifty". In a discussion on this week's Court decision to clear Rangers and Club Chairman, Douglas Park's decision NOT to support the SPFL's sponsorship deal with Cinch, Ian McCall stated, "Murdoch MacLennan is bloody useless". Hurrah for the Partick Thistle in stating the bleeding obvious. I toasted the bleeding obvious, sitting here in the Portuguese hilltop town of Tavira. I am near the villa shared by Nicola and Peter(guardian of the ring fenced £620,000) and thought it suitable to enjoy a lunch time Salad Nicoise accompanied by a bottle of Portuguese Rose. Light wine to be sure but dominated by sharp cranberry and crisp apple that poke at the palate. I am sure Peter Murrell is no stranger to that early morning feeling of a tumescent Nicola pressing against his rear? Putting the Vinha Grand Rose down, I remembered RAB Cosgrove telling us all at the height of Rangers demise a decade past, he was often given a Chauffeured lift by Murdoch MacLennan over a three year period whilst both worked in the same London building. I thought he would put meat to the Ian McCall bones, why is Murdoch MacLennan, "bloody useless"? To no avail, RAB held his discipline in the same way he has held on to his two East End flats. It is difficult for RAB, having to grapple with his property portfolio and one of Scottish football's most annoying prigs at the same time. "Bloody useless" is a term easily applied to Glasgow City Council Policy Advisor, BIG Sellik man and, "good friend of the show", Gerry Braiden. I thought the man from West Belfast would expand upon Scottish and Irish Nationalist, Martin Compton chorusing beautiful Sunday morning eulogies for the IRA? In his home town of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Martin took to the stage at the gathering of Sellik supporters clubs in North America to punch the air and extort his fellow Yahoos to continue to support the organisation that detonated the 1993 Warrington bomb without warning. Two children murdered, what is Gerry's policy advice? I suspect Gerry advises Martin to lay up at RAB's safe house in Sri Lanka, a villa with infinity pool. Martin, Peter Murrell and, £620,000 of ring fenced dosh on the inside. Outside, the Army are on the streets amid a state of emergency and, Martin from Las Vegas, Gourock, Turf Lodge, ................... will feel right at home. It's his mindset.2 points

Think this was pretty obvious when we didn't announce his departure. We have great keepers at the club for next season.1 point

Pretty soon. I think it's either Friday or Monday.1 point

McGregor also counts towards a 'homegown' player for European registration.1 point

There’s a physical resemblance but that means nothing and I’ve only seen him on the telly in a euro match as third pick. He looked calm and solid and offered nothing spectacular. That was Ritchie’s style. You rarely saw him flying about the goal which I think is down to judgement and positioning similar to Niven before him. He must have made howling mistakes but I don’t remember them. He and Niven had solid defences in front of them which helps. @compowill be a better judge.1 point

He has saved quite a lot of penalties over the years, including the hugely important save from Samaras, that opened a door to a league title. However, the two penalty shootouts I can remember him being involved in, the opposition scored 9 from 9 (St.Johnstone and Eintracht).1 point

Aberdeen are just about the last club I would loan a Rangers player to. Their supporters are so full of hate towards Rangers, that it would be a matter of time until they focused it on any loan Ranger.1 point

Tom English should be encouraged to pen an article before and after the full and frank SPFL response. Before, including a list of questions that stakeholders may be interested in knowing the answers to. The immediate SPFL response was so full of absolute shiney guff that they needed to add the 'more to come when permitted' paragraph. I have my doubts that day will ever come and if pushed, an empty damp squib would follow. How much money was wasted on a pointless legal battle ? Who decided to go with it and will take responsibility for it ? Then there is the deal with Cinch itself and all the fineprint, etc., etc.... Chris McLaughlin, the man who always provides, not only the story but ends with a verbal editorial summary as to the truth of the matter. ....He was prolific back in the day with his direct line to Jack 'toxic' Irvine, eventually leading to him being shown the door at Ibrox and where we are now.1 point

I note that Tom English wasn't on Sportsound yesterday and the uninspiring 'spout the obvious' pundit list was never going to touch on the Parks of Hamilton / Cinch SPFL court case and fall out. I guess Tom English is on holiday and I can only hope he picks up on the SPFL promise to provide some frank transparency and ask Teflon man (Doncaster) some difficult questions. English is the one jounalist who has consistently recognised what has been going on and went after the SPFL executive, when allowed.1 point

That strategy didn't work last season and could be argued is the reason we lost SG and his management team. It's a huge gamble and costly if it doesn't work. We need to get better quality and need to sign "starters" rather than squad fillers.1 point

I suspect that you are correct. I am glad he didn't play, to be frank, just from the injury p o v. I don't know how Clarke rationalises his team selection to himself, far less explain it to Souttar, or, indeed, even to McKenna. It can't be good for a player's confidence to sit on the bench, while dildoes are, well, making dildoes of themselves on the field. Clarke is popular with the tablecloths and Timberlands, and, apparently, adored by the press and other media, despite looking like a muppet, last night, with that old 'worried but clueless' look on the face. Ultimately, I could care more. If I put my mind to it, I could probably care less.1 point
