  1. I've been informed a well regarded youngster has been spotted at Ibrox. Harold Styles. Spurs youth player or something, I think.

  2. As far as I can see he picks up on other (usually fairly credible) rumours then posts about them himself. I don't think he's the actual source of anything but has built up a large Twitter following because he occasionally helps separate the wheat from the chaff. FWIW, he bothers me by DM on Twitter to share stuff (so I assume he does the same with other accounts which explains his following). I tend to pick and choose what I share though as, more often than not, his information is late and/or second hand to stuff I've already shared and/or dismissed.

  4. This is true but on the other hand, how many times have we signed a player on a 3 or 4 year contract and wished half way through the first season that it had been a loan deal?

  5. Contracted to Villa till 2025. That in monetary English market terms means ... a lot of cash.

  7. Loan deals are arguably like any other signing in terms of overall risk but you can argue it gives us the ability to bring in players we otherwise couldn't afford. Where that benefit is somewhat negated is that there could be questions over the player's motivation. Perhaps a younger player may be motivated to impress but older ones, possibly less so if they're already on a massive wage elsewhere. Like you, I'd prefer permanent deals and for us to develop our own younger players but Rangers is a very difficult club to do the latter effectively due to fan expectations.

  8. Agreed, but I don't think it can be; he's too highly rated.

  9. Yes he is definitely a grifter, everything he says is taken as gospel when he just recycles stuff from other people. The Mino Raiola death fake news was a great example. Its just a shame being a twitter transfer grifter is even a thing.

  10. Aye, I'd say so but he's far from the only one. A few bigger names (e.g. Romano) seem to do the same thing and have more credibility.

  11. They come, they go. There's always someone at least as good to take their place. Only the club goes on forever.

  12. The tentacles of SD are everywhere in the sportswear market - he even has/had shares in JD Sports. I was looking earlier to try and refresh my memory on the myriad of bullshit legal actions waged by Ashley but gave up because google is just returning dozens of articles about today’s news. However I do recall something about Elite being involved with JD Sports, which is why we distributed with them, to the chagrin of Ashley. In fact, one of the cases I think he brought was to force Elite to supply wholesale into SD - and that’s where we started to see SD popping up with shirt sales and slightly discounted pricing over various different merchandise. It would not surprise me one iota if SD wanted to undercut us all, but failed mostly because of the depth of feeling towards his brand, and so reported us all to CMA over the pricing tactics referred to by CMA (which, I would not be at all surprised if SD employ themselves by the way) Back to your question though, it doesn’t look like Ashley owns Elite per companies house information. Elite were fighting with us against SD initially when Ashley brought the action over us allegedly not offering SD the right to match the Elite deal. However, I do think that like us, Elite have backed down and reached some sort of settlement to make Ashley go away and stop interfering with their business - hence why they then started to wholesale stock to SD, etc. Whether that actually worked or not, I dont know, because the monies we were due from Elite then got caught up in SD court cases. Apologies, I’m working form memory - its very complex so i may have got various parts wrong.
