  1. Not good news and we'll receive some sort of fine but I do see this is a convenient squirrel to take the attention of a bigger, more disgraceful court case.

  2. Yes, I recall there were a good 3-4 games in there - I mentioned as much above, somewhere. GS stated that "even first half of season he was mostly a top performer". That's untrue.

  3. The lads I often go to games with run a book on when the first, "For f**k's sake, Tav!" comment will be made (by any of us). It's usually in the first ten minutes.

  4. Strange to be spending so much time discussing someone who isn't our POTY, while having so little to say about our captain who topped to vote.

  5. I thought he was signed to play as an #8 - which is where he played at Sheffield Utd - but, when he played there for us, he looked poor. It was only when he played as a #6 that he looked comfortable. Maybe he also just took a little bit longer to get settled into the club too. I never thought he was a bad player. Yes, there is no point in arguing about whether he was a "top performer" pre-january... BECAUSE IT'S UNTRUE!

  6. The change in formation after the defeat at Parkhead got the best out of Lundstram. Especially when he was paired with Jack sitting in midfield. He struggled in the Beale ball midfield 3 at times and in his first few months I lost count of the times he lost a runner or let a man run by him to score against us. The red card in Europe a prime example of this too. His turnaround into a midfield mainstay has been nothing short of remarkable.

  7. https://www.rangers.co.uk/article/a-thank-you-from-rangers/2K7yKztN0NQowde3inMDXv RANGERS would today like to put on record their sincere thanks to the club’s supporters, with over 45,000 season tickets renewed by today’s deadline. It is another incredible show of strength from our fans, who have cemented Ibrox as one of Europe’s most iconic sporting venues with a series of atmospheres that undoubtedly assisted in carrying Gio van Bronckhorst’s side all the way to the UEFA Europa League final. That figure of over 45,000 represents a new record at the renewal date, with the manager and his players once again able to count on your unmatched backing when the new season gets underway. Subject to availability, supporters who have requested a seat transfer will have their request reviewed from Monday 13 June. New sales of any remaining season tickets to supporters on the MyGers waiting list will then begin from Monday 27 June. In both instances, successful supporters will be contacted by email.

  8. Every day the Record has some new bullish!t about Rangers that only confirms how little they actually know and how completely excluded that paper now is from our club. I just wish this had happened years ago.

  9. Why would we spend 5m on a player that can barely get into the first team?

  10. Six million dollars strikes me as quite expensive for Sands.

  11. The tentacles of SD are everywhere in the sportswear market - he even has/had shares in JD Sports. I was looking earlier to try and refresh my memory on the myriad of bullshit legal actions waged by Ashley but gave up because google is just returning dozens of articles about today’s news. However I do recall something about Elite being involved with JD Sports, which is why we distributed with them, to the chagrin of Ashley. In fact, one of the cases I think he brought was to force Elite to supply wholesale into SD - and that’s where we started to see SD popping up with shirt sales and slightly discounted pricing over various different merchandise. It would not surprise me one iota if SD wanted to undercut us all, but failed mostly because of the depth of feeling towards his brand, and so reported us all to CMA over the pricing tactics referred to by CMA (which, I would not be at all surprised if SD employ themselves by the way) Back to your question though, it doesn’t look like Ashley owns Elite per companies house information. Elite were fighting with us against SD initially when Ashley brought the action over us allegedly not offering SD the right to match the Elite deal. However, I do think that like us, Elite have backed down and reached some sort of settlement to make Ashley go away and stop interfering with their business - hence why they then started to wholesale stock to SD, etc. Whether that actually worked or not, I dont know, because the monies we were due from Elite then got caught up in SD court cases. Apologies, I’m working form memory - its very complex so i may have got various parts wrong.

  12. Happy to be proved wrong but I think the dark arts of Ashley are all over this. I think the reason this has come to light, and why the CMA are alerted to the issue, is that it was part of the myriad of court cases involving us and Ashley/ Sports Direct and his annoyance at our deal with Elite which squeezed out SD.

  13. I will say, I never wanted him punted. I always thought he could contribute. He was never played in the right position - other than the 3-4 games in October. When he gets a run at #6, he starts to perform. It might have just taken him that long to get settled anyway?

  14. He plays ~120 minutes in August. He then has a good 4 games in the last week in September and into October. And then he plays barely any minutes until February 6th. You're just making it up. For what purpose, I have no idea? Hey ho.

  15. We did say this Bill both of us. Gio also used him sparingly to our detriment I would say. In Jan when I everyone wanted him punted I was pointing out he had been one of if not our best player in every game since September. It was pointed out he was pish V Dundee UTD in December which was true.

  16. I think a lot of supporters expect an EPL player to turn up and coast it in the Scottish top flight, rightly or wrongly.

  18. He started the season poorly but Lundstram was the forum's MotM in three games out of four in late September/early October before falling out of the team after we drew 2-2 with Aberdeen at Ibrox later that month. I wouldn't say he played brilliantly well but few in the team were.

  19. Agree with this 100%. Love all 3 players, but quite simply cant be relied on to play 2 games a week for the most part of a season.

  20. The player, presumably, could buy out his own contract, which would make him a free agent. The mechanics of this would be fairly straightforward, but might be seen as sailing gey close to the wind, as far as economic sanctions/no cooperation/etc with Ivan & Co is concerned.

  21. What an achievement that is by the way given how much of a non-event the first half of the season was for him.

  24. Even just the 2-1 game at Ibrox would have been enough had we converted the 2 stonewall penalties we should have got.

  25. Has Gareth Bale found a club yet? What about sticking him up front for 6 months to get him ready for the World Cup? We've got golf courses.

  28. Patrick Caskie’s report is well worth a read. The player stats section is particularly interesting. For me, they show how big a miss Helander and Roofe were. Goldson and Bassey’s defensive numbers weren't good, and Morelos’s goalscoring numbers weren’t good enough either, well behind Roofe. His passing/creative numbers were very good but even then, behind Sakala. And the less said about movement the better. Creatively, Kent’s numbers aren’t what they should be either, they really highlight how poor his shooting/goalscoring was, very low expected goals (behind Aribo, Arfield, Hagi wh all played in midfield) and very low dribble success too. Scott Wright shows up surprisingly well and so does Sakala. Aribo outstanding all round. A good squad that could really be improved with a small number of high-quality signings. The team stats busted the myth that we were just as good as Celtic too and they just got lucky breaks, they were well ahead of us in every stat. And we can't risk relying on the injury prone trio of Helander, Jack and Roofe again, as much as I love all three. https://www.docdroid.net/DQf0nDJ/rangers-summer-2022-recruitment-plan-pdf
