  1. The morning after the night before, and I still don't think it's sunk in that we are in the Europa League semi-final. I thought 2008 was a "once in a lifetime" for me, this team could maybe, just maybe provide another opportunity for this old fart. Not gonna lie, was quite emotional at the game last night. Words can't describe the amount of pride I have for the players. Every one of them who participated last night and on this run deserve enormous credit. Some will try to downplay this achievement, where in any other country we'd be getting praised to the heavens. There is nothing to "downplay", we deserve to be here, we've beaten some top teams and we are here on merit. At this moment in time, we are punching well above our weight, but this is the stage where Rangers FC belong. Enjoy the moment People, we deserve it. Rangers FC - Scotland's Gallant Few.

  2. I think you are letting your distaste of what Club 1872 stand for - the collective ownership of shares- colour your judgment. Full disclosure - I'm a member of Club 1872, having first been with Rangers First. I also see nothing wrong with collective action to further a cause. I'm a member of many organisations and while not agreeing with everything they do, my shared belief In their aims are enough for me. Anyone who is a member of a political party goes through this all the time. I don't know if it is easy to buy Rangers shares as I thought they were not on a trading platform. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

  3. The League made the post split fixtures as difficult as possible from a European perspective for us. Even breaking their promise of no deciders ever again to do so. Indeed they put it where a decider is most likely. TBH we should forget Scottish football and throw everything at Europe for me.

  4. The ref was a joke. No bookings for any number of promising attacks stopped by cynical fouls. The first VAR goal he is either saying Barasic deliberately handled the ball or he doesn't know the rules. The 3rd one is over the line i think before the foul. Their goal is most certainly a rangers foul not a corner.

  5. Ouch! Nursing a mini hangover thanks to overdoing it last night with 3 celebratory beers (not much of a drinker these days...). What a brilliant footballing night of tension and what a performance! Intensity from the first whistle and players being brave on the ball. So many positives to take from the players overall attitude. If we continue with the same intensity, bravery and belief on Sunday, we won't be far away.

  7. Leipzig Evens West Ham 2/1 Frankfurt 5/1 Rangers 8/1 1st leg prices Leipzig 2/5 Draw 7/2 Rangers 7/1 To qualify Leipzig 1/5 Rangers 10/3 Perhaps this puts the task ahead into some perspective, it will be a major achievement to qualify for the final, probably the same as beating Dortmund but with a lot more pressure on us.

  8. Maybe the lesson of John Lundstram is that we shouldn't be so quick to write off someone before they've had a chance to settle in properly and show what they can do. The way he was simply dismissed a few weeks after joining the club was shameful. You know who you are.

  9. Wasn't Lundstram's performance fantastic? He showed attributes that I didn't think he possessed, including a fantastic pacy run forward near the end. Coaching team deserve huge credit for finding ideal way to use him.

  10. One thing that has been proven is that when we play to our best we are a match for anyone, when you reach the semis in any tournament you have a chance.

  11. I believe the reason Roofe had so many chances was both our full backs played so high up the pitch getting crosses into the box, we played like that under SG, it's obvious both were instructed to do just that. This is my problem with Barisic, if he isn't driving forward he is pretty average, when he plays high his deliveries are superb.

  12. That is a very cogent point. Sometimes I hate this parochial 'Let's beat Celtic' attitude when we keep outperforming them; they are an embarrassment in Europe - we've got respect outside Scotland.

  13. The ball was DEFINITELY over the line and Ramsey stumbled into the keeper, who's antics caused the majority of added on time. I view the pitch from level with the 18yard line from SJ front.

  14. As I said in my earlier post, maybe due to the scars from the last 12 years or so, I am sceptical of everyone (well almost) 🙂 would be good if we could get a fans organisation we could all get behind and who looked after not just the club's, but the fans best interests. Maybe one day we will mate.....

  15. Lundstram. Outstanding yet again apart from right near the end

  16. It was a tough choice but managed to narrowed it down to be between Tav, Barasic, Bassey, Goldson, Lundstram, Jack, Aribo, Ramsey, Roofe or Kent....but finally went fot Lundstram who was super superb.

  20. What a night so much to go through. Some really great performances. Goldson was superb but a lapse at the goal. Basey great all round and his ball for the first var goal and the one for the pen and red. Barasic tremendous. Ramsey looking great. Jack strolled it. Roofe a major threat and really unlucky not to get another Hat trick. Aribo back to his best. Tav the best player ever to play football. Edit I forgot Lundstrum who was superb, truly superb.

  21. Unbelievable football from us last night, GVB got his tactics spot on, that and the intensity we showed just blew them away. Brilliant to see the real Borna back, injuries and low confidence have robbed us of him for long enough now.

  23. That was a roller coaster of emotions. Joyous to get the result in the end. I love these European nights.

  24. I voted for Aribo, for his assists and his all-round play. It's great to see him return to form and his ball retention last night was top notch. It's always nice to have several players deserving MotM.

  25. Roofe may have got it but for that sitter in first half which could have put us on easy street, so step forward our Captain Fantastic who continues to drive this team forward with another magnificent performance. Same again on Sunday please!

  26. I was shouting to take roofe off a minute or so before he scored as he was getting himself involved in couple of incident after being booked. 🙃

  29. Lundstram. Total commitment - exemplified towards the end when he was roasting Sakala to get up the park.

  30. We’ve much bigger fish to fry than the SPFL. We probably made more money from last night than the SPFL winners get

  32. So many great performances. I was surprised at how well Roofe played. He led the line well. The full backs were both great, but for me it has to be Lundstrom who was inspirational.

  33. One of the main drivers was Hillheadbear and while I don't know him personally, I've no doubt that his motivation was totally genuine. I've followed him on FF for many years and would be an asset to the organisation. I know one of the others but don't have a clue as to his motivation. There are legal reasons why the club can't do that.

  34. Tav, easy choice for me despite a fantastic team performance. His numbers are unbelievable, a true leader on the pitch. We are going to miss him whenever he leaves.

  37. There was no need for Ramsey to follow through, I thought it was over the line without his help to be honest.

  38. He was cracking the goal aside and that wasn't entirely his fault. The ball is perfect the player gets the march on goldson and then gets across roofe. Even if goldson goes with him then he still scores as goldson can't go through or round Roofe

  39. Still on cloud 9 after last night. Was still wide awake at 2am buzzing. I cannot believe the number of really top chances we created against a strong side in a Euro QF. I feared we would end up regretting the misses, and while we may regret it more on Sunday than today, I will just bask in this result first and hope the adrenalin can carry us forward and into the Scottish Cup Final. Borna was superb, our captain put in another incredible shift with a cool-headed strikers finish for the opener, Roofe was a constant threat on the break and in the box, Lundstrum strolled it, Ramsay looked class and kept taking up great positions and linking up really well. The only one I thought was dreadful was, as usual, Bombscare Goldson. Cost us the goal yet again, his passing was shocking, and looks the weak link every week. Where did that colossus from last year disappear to? And while i'm not dwelling on negatives, WTF Scotty "Van Vossan" Arfield!!!!! How was that possible? I'm a big fan of his but the more I see that back the more I dont believe what my eyes are showing me! Absolutely over the moon, we're on our way, we're on our way!

  43. I didn't manage together a programme at the Dortmund game so I ordered one from the rangers site. Some weeks later I still had not received it so I emailed them. After about a week I got a reply to say because of demand they had to send for a reprint and it would be sent out. A couple of weeks later, I still had not received it so I emailed again. No reply, but a week or so later I received 2 programmes, in different envelopes!

  44. It's not that they're the first or only ones, or that there haven't been some in the past who might have favoured Rangers, but in my assessment Clancy and Collum are cheats who have deliberately disadvantaged Rangers. It's the easiest thing in the world to do, given the first two alternative conclusions most people reach is that it's either just incompetence or the usual biased bellyaching from bluenoses. While some refs have been hounded out of the job, I'm not aware of any that have been removed for deliberately cheating. To do so would bring into the question the entire basis of the game in Scotland, so everything has be be continually swept under the SFA's carpet. In this climate of corruption and denial I see absolutely no hope that VAR will be anything other than a tool to maintain the status quo and protect refereeing incompetence. Of course in time-honoured fashion, anyone who suggests this will be dismissed and ridiculed as a sore loser. To get fair refereeing you first have to control the SFA.
