  1. I am surprised its not the Moon we are playing them on according to the Sun. Why would we fly the Squad around the World to sugar Coat a plastic homecoming for Fat Ange. A crazy idea to even contemplate.

  2. As always, some excellent commentary on this subject via our main site from @Rick Roberts

  3. OK, Saints offered nothing in that second half and the surface was an absolute joke but, goodness me that was so, so bad. The manager will really have to explain his rationale in refusing to make changes. Yes, the game was tight, yes the pitch was crap but surely Sakala, Lowry or Roofe could have provided something different. Job done though and hopefully the players can take some confidence from the result, if not the performance.

  4. A reasonable start but we then resorted to the ponderous tempo we see too often from this team - not helped by the touch and decision-making of Aribo, Arfield and Kent not being good enough. Indeed, St Johnstone then took control of the game for the final 10mins of the half; even if Arfield should have extended our lead. We have to be a lot better than this.

  5. Keep getting told our owners, board and executives are Rangers men. That gave me comfort and assurance. This today has demonstrated I was sadly mistaken. If nobody could foresee the obvious backlash they are too far removed and out of touch with the support to be considered such. Disgusting decision, shame on them.

  6. With "friends" like this who needs enemies? An unbelievable stupid decision. Maybe the board have forgiven Celtic for trying to destroy us 10 years ago, I certainly haven't. Also given the ongoing court cases we should be distancing ourselves from them.

  7. I think the homecoming for Postelacogu or whatever he's called aspect is being over-emphasised. They are scum and we should have nothing to do with them (other than the obvious obligations we have to fulfill). It's that simple.

  8. Not sure who is responsible for this embarrassing misjudgement but they should be penning their resignation this morning.

  9. I hope I'm wrong but I'm beginning to feel an old familiar foreboding about a manager who insists on repeating the same mistakes and shows no inclination to change, as if dogged intransigence will eventually fix everything. It's a rare event when Aberdeen come to Ibrox and win but at this rate they just could.

  10. Luckily we were playing a very poor football team tonight.

  11. Such a poor performance so far. Midfield back to its chaotic worst. No controlled possession, slow and ponderous. We’re not winning this without changes

  12. If the Rangers Board wanted to take the nuclear option they would say that in the light of the recent court decision and the wishes of the Celtic CSA victims/survivors, they were withdrawing from this friendly. Imagine the reaction!

  13. I had a lot of time for Bisgrove but it's clear he has no idea how badly this is going to go .... or why. All in all he'd be better resigning now, rather than make a drawn out exit. Any commercial director who thinks he can piss on the fans has no place at Rangers.

  14. I've been waiting nine months to have our 2020/21 PotY award presented to Connor Goldson so let's just say people taking action at the club is somewhat inconsistent. The club have even had it in their possession for three of those months so no idea why someone can't organise this.

  15. As said on Twitter earlier, it really is difficult to understand the decision-making process here. An 'outsider' like Bisgrove may well have started the conversation with good intentions but surely Graham, Robertson, Bennett and the Parks should have ended it fairly quickly? This is a monumental faux pas and points to a systematic issue at the club.

  16. Surely they would think to ask a few people first?

  17. well we often criticise McGregor for not coming off his line.

  18. No doubt about it. It's a massive own goal and I don't understand how Bisgrove and Graham - amongst others - believed this was a good idea.

  19. Reports this morning we have offered a contract to Schalke 04 goalkeeper Martin Fraisl. Apparently already follows our club and manager on social media.

  20. And we're allowing them and allowing them to use us as a diversion.

  21. I'd have dropped McGregor after the Dingwall debacle. His performances since then have done nothing to alter my view.

  22. Players look flat and obvious some are running on empty shock made the no subs even more baffling. We'll need a huge improvement if we are to beat Aberdeen at the weekend.

  23. Just back on bus heading home from what was another woeful performance. 3 points but still way off it. Still can't fathom out what formation we tried to play tonight and why No subs? PS - you can stick your fin friendly up your ar5e...

  24. Thank f*ck for that. What an abysmal pitch, but we did not look convincing at all. I still can’t believe we started with that XI after the amount of games played and some of the dire individual performances. But we got the three points so that’s the main thing. If someone plays crap and retains their place, what message does that send to the player & to the rest of the squad? Similarly, we never seem to learn from those sort of games - we’ll invariably do OK in a couple of games now, maybe even play brilliantly in one, then we’ll have another shocker and repeat the cycle.

  25. Can`t remember being so fed up after winning three points. That was trying to destroy a shit-team playing football rather than any sort of competent football. from the champions of this country. No subs either ... beyond belief really.

  28. We’re still giving away possession too easily at times. If there’s nothing on just keep the ball

  29. No will stick to despairing at our club having rings run around them by Celtic off the park and in PR.

  30. Bisgrove suggested it's more than we get for the SPFL TV deal, so probably between £1m and 2m. Could we not arrange friendlies against HSV and Linfield instead?
    1 point
  31. I'm not really interested in having '' friendlies '' with a club who were frothing at the mouth whilst trying to kill us off.

  32. This is partly my issue. When we get them back it's great, but we have too many players who spend a lot of time out injured. I don't doubt their quality ( when fit ) but over the course of a full season there are too many players with little resistance to the stresses and strains of a season.

  33. Utter shambles. Let's gift them the league and then go down Australia for a wee friendly with them. Raging isn't the word. Email being sent, not that it will do any good.

  34. I don't like the idea of playing a non competitive match against Celtic. I don't like the way that they have conducted themselves since we have returned to the top league. I think that even if I was a neutral I would dislike their behaviour. I won't take the time to watch this match but I can live with it going ahead. I have taken a few minutes to listen to what Bisgrove had to say on the Heart and Hand podcast. The decision is not baffling. We're going to get a lot of money for participating. We spend a lot of money so we need a lot of money.

  35. Playing domestic fixtures overseas is annoying enough when it's English or Spanish clubs but when it's your own team taking the most important fixture in Scotland over to the other side of the world it's beyond galling. I understand the financial benefits but the reaction of the support, which may well include financial repercussions, should surely be taken into account when making these decisions (which is why I blame Robertson and the PR team more than Bisgrove).

  38. Just seen Bisgrove's interview regarding this (on the official Twitter page). Vomit-inducing is about all I can say. In our 150th anniversary year, they decide to do this!? Appalling lack of judgement.

  39. Confirmed by the club on twitter now. I am beyond disappointed. Not felt this disillusioned with the club since the spiv days.

  40. No way this is down to a couple of ill informed employees. This must have been signed off by the board surely.

  41. It's not even the being associated with them after yesterday. Let's say Dave king had arranged for a tournament in SA. Do we think celtc would have tagged along to hold our hands. Let's hope nothing has been signed yet.

  42. Signed (I'll let the person off with misspelling existence and not capitalising Football or Club, just this once).
