First time poster / long time lurker. Delighted for Helander to get his goal and pick up from where he left off. Signature trait of a disciplined mind and steadfast composure. Although the second half fell away due to substitutions I enjoyed seeing the young guys get a run out. They look to have a bit of swagger and know how about them. Sakala's goal was just ridiculous regardless of the interpretation.3 points

I'm looking forward to Sakala scoring more to see what celebrations he comes out with.2 points

It is a bit of fun, taken seriously by some, but otherwise a nice distraction. On the other hand being at the games and seeing your forecasts destroyed can be a bummer. Defoe has cost me a couple of times by scoring when i was on correct result,FGS, etc.and spoiled😎my enjoyment of the game and result. Anyway welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy.1 point

This looks like a bit of fun, shame it's so far into the season. I'll need to keep this in mind for the start of the new campaign.1 point

Newcastle-Villa, at St James' Park, with new signings, looks like a tasty fixture today.1 point

Great chance for Arbroath to showcase their potential today against Hibs in the Scottish Cup. Playing in maroon, they must be faves to beat Hibs? 🙂1 point

I served for 16 years in a Regiment where young soldiers having survived eight months basic training, P Company(a 3 week assessment on suitability for the Parachute Regiment) and, two weeks parachute training at RAF Brize Norton; found it hard to resist to run down the Tattoo Parlour and receive an inking. A decade later, those same soldiers were spending ten times the amount getting laser removal treatment. We had a CSM who had a Tattoo of a fox hunt that covered his entire back, the fox's tail disappearing up his arse.1 point

We await outrage from Falkirk's MSP, BIG BIG Sellik man, Michael Matheson? I suspect as long as Leigh does not do the Hokey-Cokey(remember Michael wanted the hokey-cokey banned because he deemed it anti-catholic), he will be alright. Sexpesting on Twitter and Facebook a 15 year old Edinburgh girl and a 14 year old girl from Fife is okay though, Leigh was only asking for naked pictures. How about Falkirk's MP, John McNally is he outraged? Given both elected representatives are SNP; perhaps it's better if a party donor was to be outraged, or maybe a Stirlingshire based crime fiction writer who is the First Minister's Bestie could express outrage? How about Val's Gals refusing to play Falkirk Ladies?1 point

I have no view on his guilt or innocence but I think it's revealing he's been bailed without charged. At the very least it suggests the "evidence" against him may not be as conclusive as widely reported.1 point

Social discourse is almost entirely based on "feelings" - that staple commodity of the hard of thinking everywhere.1 point

But the point is Craig, that's not for you or me to judge. The responsible path is to let justice take it's course in due process. It isn't a question of ignoring anything but of recognising the value of legal process. You may think I'm just offering semantics, I think I'm making a very important point and your invitation to honesty is wholly unnecessary.1 point
-
Agreed. The willingness of not only Joe Public but also organised media and manipulative interest groups to make advance pronouncements of guilt is possibly the most dangerous development of the last 20 years.1 point
-
I worry about the easy willingness to ignore the "information" and, lets be honest Bill, you are playing with semantics by suggesting it isnt evidence. I certainly am not saying he isnt deserving of proper and due process - but what is out there is going to be very difficult for him to maneuvre - the voice note in particular will be difficult for them to work around.1 point

It's concerning how much emotion trumps reason in society nowadays.1 point

Exactly what we saw in the US with the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. The US MSM had him guilty from day one entirely on an identarian basis, whereas the actual evidence was something completely different.1 point
-
Exactly. It is quite concerning that so many people believe that the presumption of innocence should be removed.1 point
-
There is no "evidence" until it has been presented and tested in court. Until then it can only ever be information that is intended to support or deny an accusation. I worry about the increasing willingness to judge without trial.1 point

I think it's best to give the accused a fair trial before any condemnation1 point
