  1. But those players were classed as pish even against lower league opposition, Mccoist was booed for years. GVBs style was never gonna be same as SGs and many fans were screaming for a change of style as we had become "predictable". In reality, we were never gonna be as good as we were last season. Last season we played some of the best football in years, but in other games, especially the cups, we were very poor. GVB will stamp his style on the team and we'll just need to see how it pans our. If he guides us to the league, is more negative style (If that's what it turns out to be) will be forgiven/forgotten. We've lost 1 league game in 60 and GVB is unbeaten in his 11 games in charge. Not bad records if we're honest! We need to sign players and need to sign players who'll fit into Gios style, hopefully we get them in this window.

  2. I have to say I quite enjoyed the game last night. It was good to see Cedric Itten and Leon Balogun back in harness, looking fit and sharp. And it was interesting to see Juninho Bacuna again - I thought he was hesitant and lacked balance in a poor first 60 minutes, before suddenly (it seemed) finding his rhythm and showing more of what is required of him. John Lundstram must have enjoyed his evening because he had so many touches and strolled through the game, like he should do against that opposition. Alex Lowry (who?) was a sensation from the minute he came on; when his image came up on the big screen before kickoff he didn't even have a game shirt on, like some kind of afterthought, included in the squad purely for experience. Little did I know. I wonder what the deal was playing Jack Simpson at fullback - last throw of the dice? Sadly, Brandon Barker contributed little and probably only confirmed his imminent exit. The highlight of the evening was definitely sharing the evening with my son and grand daughter, who was making her first visit to Ibrox. It seems no time since that was me at my first game, the youngest of three generations sitting together. It's wonderful to think they might enjoy being part of Rangers as much as i have. The downside was Tav missing that penalty and f**king up my GPL prediction.

  4. Bring it on. We beat them with a third choice keeper back up right back and no manager the last time

  5. Just knocked St Johnstone out of the cup. Congratulations to KT - great result for him. However, could this be the end of Davidson at St.J?

  6. Let's not go overboard here. If we leave Pittodrie with a scrappy 1-0 victory on Tuesday, nobody would be talking about GVB's style. He's had a handful of games to settle into the job with someone else's players. Let's give him time to make his mark.

  7. Chris Spins It. These are trying times for Chris McLaughlin. Remember his old flame, Eilidh Barbour? She left Chris for an American female golfer with a longer iron, then recently announced her and Livingston Assistant Manager, Marvin Bartley were an item. Embarrassing, having to state a preference for the axminster to escape the clutches of creepy Chris then lionise the merits of Marvin's follow through. The Hinshelwood Knoll has been empty since 55 and Chris wants to vent his frustrations in a roundabout way. Today, he headlines BBC Scotland's on line football content with : 'Rangers hold Talks with the SFA'. He is not doing his usual straight shooting from his arse, no this has the full thrust of his designation, BBC Scotland Sports News Correspondent. Chris outlines Rangers grievances as such, a letter was sent to the SFA outlining eight points of concern reference Referee, Kevin Clancy's handling of the game at Pittodrie. Chris highlights Johnny Hayes appearing to throw an elbow at Borna Barisic with no action taken. That's it, the other seven points of concern are not worthy of inclusion. However, Chris begins the second paragraph reminding the readership that his favourites have cut the lead at the top of the Premiership to four points. Then, we are told of Aberdeen Manager, Stephen Glass having a grievance in McGregor not being penalised amid the denial of a penalty award. Oh, and a penalty was awarded against Alfredo Morelos. I would have thought a headline that reads, 'Rangers Hold Talks with the SFA After Complaining about Referee Clancy' would proffer a narrative telling of all eight points but obviously Chris had to spin Stephen Glass and his beloved Sellik into the piece. He should have finished with, how Tuesday evening's game ended - in nearly sixty years of watching Scottish football, I have never seen a player walk from the pitch with his arm wrapped around a Referee, both sharing a laugh. Maybe Chris has nobody to wrap his arm around?

  8. The club should give them all free season tickets, a meet and greet with the team and provide funds for bigger banners with similar messages. F*ck the SNP.

  15. Not just one game but 3 others I believe must be the case, otherwise it is preferential treatment for two teams.

  19. I didn’t say I disagreed with anything in your post. You may have a point. I hope it’s the players rather than GvBs style, time will tell. But we have a lot of players that clearly aren’t going to cut it. We need to sign one or two quality 1st team players in Jan otherwise we could fuck this season up, as if it’s not fucked up enough already with injuries, COVID Break, and bloody AFCON. There’s too much at stake this season to think GvB can win this league on his own.

  20. I would have allowed young Lowry to hit both penalties after notching the first. How many 17 year old debutants get the opportunity to score a hat-trick at Ibrox?

  21. GvB said before the game he was giving fringe players a game & he did that. With so many changes from Tuesday night we were always going to take time to settle tonight. Just my view that maybe 1or 2 of those fringe players didn’t do themselves too many favours tonight.

  22. For the record I was always against SG getting the job, he proved me wrong! I was very happy when Gio was appointed manager, however at this point in time I have deep concerns about GVB! I just hope he also proves me wrong!!

  23. Don't hold your breath mate! still bemused why we even signed him! he should be destroying this team!!, Bacuna as well, he needs to show a lot more. We have a lot of deadwood in our squad that needs shifting on!

  27. Sorry but Calvin Bassey is nowhere near good enough as a central defender. He's done OK and might be receiving praise because he stepped into the breech and did better than generally expected but he never will be the solution. He might be the LB we need - that remains to be seen but it clearly is his position. The truth is the squad as a whole needs ongoing development and that won't happen by 'making do'. However, I do agree our priorities lie in midfield, which seems to have lost the balance of last season.
