Barkerinho being prepared for the old firm game no doubt @Rousseau?3 points

Big night for Itten & Sakala. Need to show the new Rangers manager they can get goals.3 points

Sorry but Calvin Bassey is nowhere near good enough as a central defender. He's done OK and might be receiving praise because he stepped into the breech and did better than generally expected but he never will be the solution. He might be the LB we need - that remains to be seen but it clearly is his position. The truth is the squad as a whole needs ongoing development and that won't happen by 'making do'. However, I do agree our priorities lie in midfield, which seems to have lost the balance of last season.3 points

I'm on the drink now! 😁2 points

A fair few of the fringe players looked fine there. Lowery looks a real talent2 points

Patterson needs a run in the team after that tbh2 points

Goal aside, I'm very impressed with young Lowry2 points

It's time Clancy was removed from refereeing all Rangers games. Some may think he's incompetent, I think he's an inveterate cheat but, either way, his record of abysmal refereeing can't be allowed to continue.2 points

It's unlikely but I certainly wouldn't mourn its passing. The added bonus would be not having to hear that grindingly awful 'national anthem'.2 points

But those players were classed as pish even against lower league opposition, Mccoist was booed for years. GVBs style was never gonna be same as SGs and many fans were screaming for a change of style as we had become "predictable". In reality, we were never gonna be as good as we were last season. Last season we played some of the best football in years, but in other games, especially the cups, we were very poor. GVB will stamp his style on the team and we'll just need to see how it pans our. If he guides us to the league, is more negative style (If that's what it turns out to be) will be forgiven/forgotten. We've lost 1 league game in 60 and GVB is unbeaten in his 11 games in charge. Not bad records if we're honest! We need to sign players and need to sign players who'll fit into Gios style, hopefully we get them in this window.1 point

I don’t think Barker did himself any favours tonight. I’d be surprised if we saw him again. I think GvB wanted to see him in action for himself. I doubt he’d have been impressed. Bacuna set up two goals tonight but whether he can be the creative midfielder we’d like him to be Im not so sure. He needs to show he can offer us more against better opposition1 point

Whether he is good enough or not is another debate for another day, but it appears he's the latest player our fans have written off before he's had an opportunity - a long list including pish Rangers players like Mccoist, Goram, Hateley and thro to Borna. He wasn't pish tonight, none of our players were pish. Some played better than others, tonight was a no win game. Expected to win easily and that's exactly what we done. If we want to discuss pish players, let's talk about Emilson Crobari, Faure, Ian Black, Kevin Kyle et al1 point

GvB said before the game he was giving fringe players a game & he did that. With so many changes from Tuesday night we were always going to take time to settle tonight. Just my view that maybe 1or 2 of those fringe players didn’t do themselves too many favours tonight.1 point

For the record I was always against SG getting the job, he proved me wrong! I was very happy when Gio was appointed manager, however at this point in time I have deep concerns about GVB! I just hope he also proves me wrong!!1 point

Bacuna set up two goals and his pass to Fashion for his goal was pass of the game by a country mile. Wouldn't say he was MOTM material but wasn't "pish" eirher 😀1 point

All in all a worthwhile game. Good to see us adopting a different system, albeit it needed time to get going for some players. Quite a good few second row guys got game time and took it well, aside from Barker (and no wonder there, given he`s been out since almost BC).1 point

Another Stone wall penalty not given.....1 point

Don't hold your breath mate! still bemused why we even signed him! he should be destroying this team!!, Bacuna as well, he needs to show a lot more. We have a lot of deadwood in our squad that needs shifting on!1 point

Obviously very difficult to judge players on this kind of game but I think the attitude has been pretty good and we've done OK for the most part. Hoped for a bit more from the likes of Barker and Bacuna but also happy to see Sakala and Lowry take their chance. Should see minutes for Roofe after half-time and hopefully one more of the youngsters.1 point

Great finish from young Lowry. Along with Fashion, our best play this far.1 point

Sands not playing here is possibly a sign the manager rates him and intends to keep starting him.1 point

Official site suggests Simpson at left back but may well be more of a 3-4-3 for the most part with Tav pushed into the midfield.1 point
-
Well if nothing else that should be the last time we see Clancy this season.1 point
-
When it comes to the SFA, I'd prefer it if we were destructive rather than constructive.1 point

If Morelos left we’d have a big problem unless Roofe was fit. Privately I don’t think GvB sees Sakala & Itten as what he wants1 point
-
Bassey is fine at CB and Balogun and Helendar are back soon. In my opinion, we have far more pressing concerns in midfield and RW.1 point
-
I expect he’ll sign for between £250k and £500k. Helander has ongoing injury problems and Souttar is arguably a better player than Balogun (who has his own injury issues). There’s a decent chance Simpson will leave too.1 point

I wouldn't give Hearts a penny more than we have to. We've got our man, we can wait. F*ck them.1 point

Am I wrong in saying the boss wasn't quizzed enough about the tactics, team selection against the sheep? immediately after the match I just felt the players were poor as a team, however since match day I think the manager was wrong in his team selection/tactics? I do still think the players underperformed but it is still niggling me how deep we sat for the majority of the match allowing the sheep to dictate the tempo! we all know we are a better team when we deploy the high press! I felt we were too defensive for the whole match and that is the responsibility of the manager & coaching staff!.1 point

Meanwhile our good form is interrupted and dropped points follow. Anybody still ok with moving the winter break for no real reason?1 point

Sadly, there are many of them. It's probably considered toxic masculinity to want to be in charge of your own life these days.1 point

Exactly, i don't think anyone except those who like to have their lives fully controlled by a nanny state would consider something like this.1 point

Of course not, just like the evidence for no juke box in the pub, seating only, a substantial meal and 10pm pub curfew.... it was all total bollox just to show they were doing something.. anything.1 point
