Am I wrong in saying the boss wasn't quizzed enough about the tactics, team selection against the sheep? immediately after the match I just felt the players were poor as a team, however since match day I think the manager was wrong in his team selection/tactics? I do still think the players underperformed but it is still niggling me how deep we sat for the majority of the match allowing the sheep to dictate the tempo! we all know we are a better team when we deploy the high press! I felt we were too defensive for the whole match and that is the responsibility of the manager & coaching staff!.

The established wisdom that international football should always take precedence is something that needs to be looked at and reassessed at every level. The vast majority of international games have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on tournament qualification or trophy destination and the burden being placed on clubs is becoming ridiculous. One thing I would change immediately is that players from one FIFA area who are contracted by clubs in another area should no longer be eligible for selection for their national team. That would stop this crazy situation where clubs fund the player but on a whim and national association can deny clubs a return on that investment. It would also mean that national sides might actually represent and reflect the domestic progress of that country.

Thought he had a good first half, defended well at times and used the ball well going forward. Second half he suffered as the whole team fell out of the game. Needs more positional discipline but overall looked promising.

From the little I seen, yes. It was an decent start for him. He was not necessarily the MotM, but I thought the whole team were poor, so I plucked for him.

I think that might depend on two factors: the club and the country. A Venezuelan who plays for Liverpool is more likely to turn down international football than an Egyptian who plays for Hearts.

I for one think he got one of his few decisions right with the McGregor incident. I do agree however that he is more of an incompetent than a cheat.

i think it's just utter incompetence. He could have sent off mcgregor and given a pen and it wouldn't have been a ridiculous decision. as it was he just got everything wrong all night. i think he is fundamentally useless.

Id put in a request that he doesnt referee any of our games. I'd like to say he's just useless but I think its a lot more sinister. Its not that long since the "everyone knows how important this season is" when they were going for '10' The only massive surprise the other night there was he didn't manage to find an excuse to give them a penalty, he did everything else to help them

He certainly has the potential to. Morelos has often struggled against Celtic.

A tough first game. I thought there were promising signs with his forward passing, need to see more of course.

Goldson for me, did really well. I thought Morelos had a very good first half but tired in the second and didn’t do much to get us up the park.

In a tight title race, missing key men to South American, African and Asian international football could make the difference in where the title goes. With Celtic now affected by this too with Furuhashi, Rogic, Hatate and Maeda, I’d be taking this into account in our recruitment.
