Struggling to understand why gordon wasn't sent off. No attempt to play the ball just booted him. alfie being offside should have no bearing on that and if you are going to yellow him you have to go red. Gordon is the Blue eyed boy though eh. Like when shearer was untouchable down south.4 points

If it was survival they wanted ,they should have sent for Sam £250,000 a week and a £5 million bonus for survival.3 points

Hard to compare as whilst both SG and Gio play 4-3-3 they use it in different ways. SG overloaded the final 3rd with our full backs being our creative players who both played the majority of the game in oppositions final 3rd. Thus far we have looked less "gung-ho" under Gio and he prefers "real wingers" in his front 3 and support from the 2 forward playing midfield (Arfield and Aribo).3 points

That's a superb result. Tough place to go. And that's Easter Road and Tynecastle chalked off this month, with clean sheets and wins. Brilliant.3 points

I think GvB is looking for more pace up front. I think I would prefer more steel in midfield.3 points

We need an over the top option. Hearts are pressing, squeezing us into our last third constantly. We are making three or four passes, then losing possession before the half way line. A quick ball over the top with waiting pace and the game lengthens. We need a higher line. If we allow Hearts time to continually pick their passes, allow them to win free kicks and corners, then there's an inevitability about conceding.3 points

Unexpectedly on the move this afternoon, my only access to a score was by sportsound and even that intermittently. Thank God because I couldn’t have tholed ninety minutes. It was angry. Very, very angry. An angry Paul Mitchell was commentator with an angry John Robertson and some other angry bloke. Rangers were 0-2 up when I joined and they weren’t much interested in describing the play. Instead I quickly learned from Mitchell that Rangers had lost their first away match of the season at Tannadice, relevant to today’s proceedings I know not how. Next, the intriguing statistic that up to today, Hearts hadn’t conceded a first half goal at home all season, a record only matched by celtic. At that point I had to attend to other matters so I don’t know what further gems of non-information were ofered I next joined at halftime into an excited debate among the commentary team about whether Rangers’ first goal was offside or if there had been some other infringement. The matter was settled more in sorrow than in anger by Richard Gordon in the studio telling them that pictures revealed the goal was legal. Suddenly, like Dracula rising from his coffin, an even angrier Tom Gibberish intervened to say that Rangers had been very good for about four minutes but before and after, Hearts had been the better team. Somebody must have drawn up the studio blinds because that angry creature vanished as suddenly as he had appeared but he’d thrown a comfort bone to the commentary chaps who picked it up and started gnawing at it confident that Hearts would get the next goal and it would be a different game. Luckily, I had to tune out for the rest of the programme. Force majeure aside, I would have switched off anyway. It’s many years old since I listened to that programme. Mitchell used to be not too bad. How @26th of footcopes with this sort of stuff, I do not know. Must be down to good Covenanting stock and the rigours of the Parachute Regiment. Double armour that I do not possess.2 points

I'd happily trade the LC and SC for the league title EVERY season. Gio is yet to manage us in a cup tie, so you can't compare. We are and were always going to drop points this season and every season, it's inevitable, it happens to every team. We drop points last season even when we strolled the league. I've stated in every post, the early signs are positive but for anyone to say Gio is a better manager than SG after 5 games is utterly ridiculous, and that was the question you posed and I (and others) answered.2 points

Let's not forget Livingston away was before that. We've always struggled there.2 points

For those of us with an emotional involvement ; That was a HARD, HARD WATCH. Still, all's well that ends well.2 points

So what do others think, is this us going back to last season's form & plan where we go a couple of goals up and then just look to control the game? We definitely look a lot more confident under GvB than we did under Gerrard, but if Hearts had scored, would we just have gone back up a gear and got another one? Or was today one of those crazy games where all bets are off and its just a bit manic so difficult to control?2 points

OK--this is going to be a fight for the finish. I hope we're ready for it.2 points

Great start but we are giving away cheap possession. Hope it doesn't bite us on the arse.2 points

Still not 100% convinced by our defending but going forward we are looking dangerous with every attack2 points

Tend to have a few spares a mixture of adults, concessions and juveniles for most games save Celtic. These are in the same row in GR5 pretty much level with the centre circle. Can configure to suit any mixture sitting together. Price is always face value which can be checked on Rangers website.2 points

They are indeed. Not just memories of the heroes but of players with other teams as well. What a fine inside forward Archie Robertson was. Clyde - yes, Clyde - could field three internationalists, Robertson, Harry Haddock and Tommy Ring.2 points

Is it too early to suggest that our new manager is a better manager than the one he replaced?1 point

Worth remembering that Madden helped the Scum to their 3 points vs Hearts not too long ago, offside goal and handing the Scum position after their player broke down for no reason whatsoever et al ... no wonder refs are a bit up in arms.1 point

Lived up to its top-of-the-table clash, good to see that Hearts have build a team that can compete with the Old Firm. Well taken goals at the right time, and given the chances the game might have gone either way and would have been nerve-wrecking to watch had we not got our goals early on. But hey, that was fast and furious and despite a few yellows (and bar Tav`s all deserved) a good game of Scottish (sic!) football.1 point

McGregor booked for time-wasting. F*ck off. And yet, every other team we play gets to do just that without punishment. Must be that blue shirt again...1 point

Goals aside, I think we have been poor. Our decision making is piss poor and our passing has been sloppy.1 point

We’re needing more defensive protection in midfield. Kamara isn’t the man for that role.1 point

Yeah, he played Roofe in Kent`s place or as a right-sided attacker ... every now and then. Still, Morelos got the nod whether he was in-form or not. That`s the point. As for other comments ... "unproven" is relative. If it refers to Scotland, that`s true but holds true for Defoe and Laudrup and whomever you chose who just signed up. Sakala has scored 1 goal in 3 games over in Belgium and Itten 38 in 63 in Switzerland.1 point

One significant change under GVB has been the ability to get the first goal in all his games, unlike SG last cluster of matches. I've said on here before. We turn up. We win. We are the bloody champions. Simple.1 point
