Or a proper player like Josh Windass?5 points

I watched Mayo for Dunfermline a couple of times last season and he didn't look like he was close to being ready for us. I think the fact he went out on loan in the Championship again tells us what our coaches think his level is currently. I suspect Leon King, Lewis Mackinnon or Kyle Mclelland are now more likely to step up. A lot is expected of King but I've not been convinced when I've watched him. He's one of those boys who was built like a grown man while still in his mid-teens and I felt that helped him dominate at age group football. It'll be interesting to see if he can make the next step.4 points

let me just say this its only morons that throw snowballs now if those shenanigans happend in a eufa match we would be getting a fine or worse playing behind closed door , grow up for goodness sake Mon the gers3 points

Surprised no one has commented that yesterday’s starting team had both Arfield and Hagi in it. Normally only one of them is in it. And I thought it made us into more of a goal threat to the opposition. An good piece of tactical awareness by GvB?3 points

Not to mention a certain header. Old firm goals are so memorable that they go a long way for fans. Katic was never good enough for Rangers, average at best on the ball and a terrible habit of ball watching and losing his man.3 points

It certainly seems a good appointment. It can be a good age for an assistant too, a young guy who is full of enthusiasm, energy and is hungry to prove himself and doesn't have a reputation as a player to fall back on. Maybe harsh but a bit of contrast to McAllister?3 points
-
I've never liked Katic. Of course, any players' reputation inflates when they've been out of the team, but with Katic, I think his reputation is built on a couple of hard tackles. Which is great to see, but it doesn't make a defender. I don't know, though. Maybe these youngsters are not that good. How many managers has that been that have overlooked them? There must be a reason for it. I think Kelly is good enough to get some minutes, here and there, but he's nowhere to be seen.3 points

What would Gio have achieved with Candieas still in place. Sky would be the limit.2 points

Have given it to McGregor for a stunning return to form. If not for that save we would probably have dropped points.2 points

I thought Goldson was fine up to the goal and he got caught out there. That unsettled him for a while but he got back in control. I may of course be overestimating him.2 points

I think Goldson's head has gone. I'd like to see Lewis Mayo given a chance. I was impressed with his ball-playing a few seasons ago, and he looks a unit now.2 points

Is that apart from the two goals they scored???????2 points

I've given it to Aribo. I thought Morelos was fairly anonymous today but his wee dink to Aribo for the second was very nice and deserves credit.2 points

I think teams should be capable of adapting to any formation where it may be required.2 points

Rangers AGM is set for tomorrow, St Andrew's Day at the Clyde Auditorium starting at 10.30hrs. Any fellow Gersnetters intent upon attendance? What are the questions dominating life as a Rangers supporter? Ibrox pies are always a point of concern, the piquancy of the peppered mince pate, the melt in the mouth pastry and, are they warm enough? Talking of culinary triumph, will we see the return of Bears' Pakora, the King Rib sandwich or, the chicken salad wrap? Club'72 has no white Burgundy, no Gravadlax and, no Bollinger. Working TVs in concourses is another favoured concern, perhaps with new Management Team appointments, Red Hot Dutch TV will be made available? Oh, and the welfare of Rino Gattuso is usually uppermost in the collective thoughts. Prominent attendees in the past were Tom Shields(ra Sellik View Columnist), Graham Spiers(the Laird of Dunlop), and, David Low(top Fergus Fluffer). Will Phil McFournames, Chris McLaughlin and, Michael Stewart trap, BIG Clown Shoes to be filled? Will anyone mention Finance? Will BBC Scotland provide coverage? In the mid-late sixties, I attended my first Rangers AGM. I was a ten year old schoolboy accompanying both my Father and Grandfather. The venue was the Kenilworth Hotel, located on the corner of Queen Street and Argyle Street. I remember a shareholder being reprimanded by the Chair for intemperate language utilised to describe the then Manager, Scot Symon, "he is not a track suit manager, he is a fuddy-duddy". Oh, how the tuts echoed around the high ceilinged room. If I can summon the energy to depart deepest, darkest Lanarkshire, I might Kayak down the Clyde to the Auditorium. My dander is up and the desire to paddle exists. Why have our Board allowed Angeball Postecoglou's Sellik to win this season's Best Passing Team in Europe Trophy? The Daily Record's Gabriel McKay revealed ra Sellik had out-passed Man City, PSG, Barca, ........... etc. You may remember Gabriel, he was the worst of the Record's social media abusers, lots of 'H' term references and when Her Maj', the Queen was opening the Commonwealth Games 2014, he posted, "where's the IRA when you need them"? Today's new, modern Scotland and Gabriel still has a job, you would think he would be more concerned that his beloved Sellik have conceded most goals in the Euro Group stages for the second consecutive year? I hope the Daily Record send Gabriel along to cover proceedings. He will be fulminating when he is confronted with the post AGM repast, Duck a l'Orange avec un verre de Pays de Gers.1 point

I expect a lot of yahoos will be more focused on goings on at our AGM than your average Bear will be.1 point

Yeah more assists in the league than he got all of last season. Everyone loved him last year not so much this year.1 point

Another 2 assists for Tav taking him to 10 in 12 league games, plus 3 goals. Phenomenal stats.1 point

Conte uses it too doesn’t he. I generally prefer a back 4 but a good manager can always use a 3 at the back based formation effectively.1 point

change the probably with a possibly and i'm with you. Stunning save is why he got my vote.1 point

A good team will always exploit a team playing three at the back by playing the ball into the wide areas upfront.1 point

Iain Philip could play, he won the League Cup on three occasions with both Dundee clubs. I thought his Crystal Palace move was probably the wrong one for such a heads-up player? Spurs would have been a better match. Talking of Spurs, John Duncan made that move from Dundee. As a centre forward, he had more than his fair share of injury problems. I checked his stats and they are incredible, five years at the Lane saw him make 103 appearances and score 53 goals. Gordon Wallace scored at a similar rate wherever he played and, Jocky Scott was a genuine hard case. Of course, it was Davie White that assembled that Dundee team.1 point

Totally agree he got better and better in peoples minds during his injury but he gave away a pen in that same celtc game and there was a game v hearts i think where he twice booted the ball straight up and cost us. generally he was all over the place.1 point

I haven't watched Mayo but you'd have to say someone with only 2nd tier experience is unlikely to be good enough. His clean sheet record when he played CB this season is outstanding though and that is very encouraging, especially as the season has gone on.1 point

We played 3 at the back at times yesterday it looked to me. Kamara dropped in when Livi were taking goal kicks and at other long ball scenarios.1 point

Between Arfield and Aribo for me. Both very good. But Arfields running into the box gave us a real cutting edge. Only 2 games in but I like the way Gio sets up the team. One of my biggest issues with us under the previous management was our obsession of slowly working the ball wide, for our full backs to cross into one guy in the box v 6 defenders. We are looking for early balls into channels in behind more often (first goal v Sparta and 1st goal today) Getting the ball forward more direct will allow us to get the best from both.1 point

Nobody had a standout performance but airfield for me on the basis he got us off and running with the early goal.1 point

Definitely some improvements and a very welcome 3 points but that only highlighted the continuing deficiencies. The main issue is an inability to maintain a decent momentum throughout the game, which will always encourage opponents to find a way back into the game. There were some players today who were clearly making an effort and responding to the new regime. I thought Hagi, Aribo, Arfield, Bassey, Tavernier and Kent all looked hungrier. It's so frustrating to see a really good players like Kamara and Barisic playing at walking pace and taking 30 minute sabbaticals in these games - they're so much better than that. Goldson needs help, he's all over the place. Two games, two wins, clear signs of improvements. Let's hope it continues but I think we can all be grateful for a change of manager - Steve Gerrard did good things for Rangers it's now fairly clear he had run his course with these players. The abiding memory of this game will be the poor bloke with the snow shovel, send on by himself to show the watching world how the SPFL marshals it's resources to respond to adversity.1 point

I must have watched a different game. It wasnt all plain sailing (it never will be on that pitch) but that was the most comfortable we've looked on that pitch.1 point

Hell of a lot of money for a go-between and a comfort blanket. You'd think a senior position like assistant manager should have a few more objective deliverables than that.1 point

I presume this guy has had a hand in the glut of young players that have made it to the Ajax 1st team over the last few years? Apologies. Didn't hit the drop down on the article. This seems progressive and exciting IMO.1 point

Vos seems to be the tactical coach we wanted. I'm not entirely convinced of this, simply because he was coaching in the Ajax system, which is quite authoritative. He's not coaching 'his' ideas, if you know what I mean, it's Ajax ideas. However, taking some of the Ajax ideas cannot be a bad thing, can it? I think it's an exciting appointment, nonetheless. He seems to be a good developer of players, from what I've read.1 point

really hoping we can get him back fit and keep him that way. Would make such a huge difference.1 point

Notify the Stock Exchange? Hell they didn't even discuss it with their own shareholders at their AGM. The denial is total.1 point
