Enough of the “this team won the league last season” patter. Last season is long gone.7 points

Gios first job is to find out who has the guts for the fight. Those that don't, feck off and don't let the door hit your arses on way out. To all those Rangers fans who left Hampden today after Hibs 3 goal, ask yourselves the same question.5 points

1. Wrong team selection. 2. Only Aribo pass marks. 3. Woeful defending. 4. Wrong tactics. 5. Woeful goalkeeping. 6. No pace. 7. No imagination. 8. Two Hibs players booked in first 3 mins and we stopped running at them. 9. Baffling subs. 10. No leaders on the pitch. That's off the top of my head.4 points

At 29, his value will not increase any. It's one of our last chances to cash in. And, he's been p*sh this season.4 points

People were worried (hopeful) that Gerrard would come and raid us for players. Oh my sides are splitting.3 points

McGregor has been very poor this season IMO. One season too many?3 points

I think everyone needs to calm down with the 'sell everyone' patter. This team won the league last season. As I've been saying all season, this team hasn't started; we're stale. This result has been coming for weeks. What we need is new ideas to refresh and galvanise the team. Enter, Gio.3 points

Maybe now we see why Gerrard grabbed the first passing lifeboat.3 points

I would assume that Patterson is the only full professional footballer this side of Saturn`s rings who is getting more game time for his national team than at his club ...3 points

I don’t favour United so I’m sorry to see him go. Now, Lenny. Now’s your time. Step up, bhoy.3 points

A disappointing result to put it mildly, but when all is said and done the League Cup doesn't mean an awful lot. I know that there isn't a shop where you can do a trade in these results but I'd much rather beat them in the next league game, although admittedly that doesn't seem likely at this point in time.2 points

Goldson, Tavernier and Morelos. All rubbish. Many other players were also rubbish but those three were particularly bad. Bring on the Patterson era.2 points

Today surely marks the end for Allan McGregor. Legend, but his best days are well behind him now. He shouldn’t have conceded those first two hibs goals2 points

About time, McGregor has not made a save all season- 1st one to be dropped IMO2 points

The first half was a clusterfcuk. Still, 1-3 at the interval and all to play for, the next goal would be most important. The second half lasted 50 minutes. We played in front, around and, down the sides. We got in behind once, we crossed in half-a-dozen balls and, we put the laces through three shots, all deflected for corners. The Hibs Keeper came for one ball and grasped it, he punched another. Hibs managed the entire fifty minutes, absolutely. Macey did NOT have one save to make.2 points

Sloppy, incoherent, wasteful, slow and aimless. This game all but sums us up this season. Maybe not the time for this but Morelos should have been sold if 16 million was on the table. We would be lucky to get anything over 2/3 million for him now. Oh well, at least Gio got a good view of what's ahead of him.2 points

You’re 2 goals down against a packed defence and you leave players like Hagi and Wright on the bench. I give up trying to understand the mentality of coaches2 points

I’m afraid it looks like our captain might be passing his sell by date2 points

TBH, Lundstram and Jack wouldn`t go amiss in our DM and both are willing to step forward and take a shot too. But for me, Hagi and Sakala are a must, Wright later on.2 points

I was annoyed when John Fleck and Charlie Adam were let go. It's not so much "[losing] a diamond", for me; It's losing good squad players. Players like Chris Burke, Ross McCormack, Barrie McKay, Lewis Macleod, Kal Naismith, Jamie Ness, Ryan Hardie, Ross McCrorie. They're not world-class, but they're decent. We could use them, as squad players - until we get a decent offer for them.2 points

I read that McCann is being talked about as his assistant, we need far better he might talk a good game but was a dud as a manager2 points

I guess Gerrard’s departure at least gives us a chance of winning this cup2 points

I find it astonishing that Kamara's dreadful performance has barely been mentioned. Constantly out of position and careless in his distribution.1 point

Not forcing to their goalie make a save in the 2nd half was a worry for me. We had 70% possession but ultimately did heehaw with it. At least if their keeper has a MOTM performance (like Foster did a few years back) you can at least say we were unlucky. Today we were just poor.1 point

Tav, Goldson and Morelos are doing enough chilling for Scotland.1 point

When I was growing up, the league cup was the first chance to get a trophy and I was always excited about it - Gers teams always seemed right up for it too. A good chance to lay down a marker for the season and I’m sure it gives the players a lift too. We should be aiming for all three trophies with the squad we have.1 point
-
If this continues, that won't be for long. We have Livingston, Hibs, Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts away in the next round of fixtures. I think there is more chance of Shergar winning next year's Gold Cup than us taking maximum points from all those games.1 point

Anyone surprised by that performance then? Gerrard has a lot to answer-for as we've played like that all season and the management team were unable to sort it out. I didn't think the coaching staff would change anything, but I hoped players would rise to the occasion of a semi final and also be looking to impress the new manager but what a shambles. Not sure where he starts with the defence. Putting McLaughlin in as number 1 would be a start. Borna is still a shadow of his former self, so not sure why Bassey didn't start. Tav? What do you do when you have someone like him who brings so much to the team, but at the same time, seems to be contributing to many of our problems. The midfield at times lived-up to every criticism we've had of them during Gerrard's time when things weren't going well for us. Toothless, indirect, out of ideas and afraid to have a shot. I thought Arfield looked much better, him and Aribo get pass marks. What is going on with Morelos? Looking at our bench, I'd have been tempted to start with McLaughlin, Bassey, Sakala and maybe even Bacuna & Haji. The only saving grace at the moment is that somehow we're still top of the league.1 point

Keeper in wrong position for the goals (repeated that several times) and didn't follow the instructions1 point

It was a typical performance from us. I'm now wondering how this lot won the title so convincingly last season. I don't think Gio knows what he signed up for. He thinks he's coming in to manage a team of Champions but if he doesn't have a fire sale in Jan and bring in some players with a backbone, I can't see it ending well for him.1 point

The players should hang their heads in shame. All I'm saying in the matter until I calm down.1 point

Piss poor team selection combined with a complete absence of meaningful tactics and too many uncommitted players. Good luck Gio, you’re going to need it. Disgusted.1 point

Did anyone predict this score, shocking to get pumped out the cup yet again, a few players need a spell on the sidelines after this garbage1 point

We should be getting rid of Defoe at the earliest opportunity. It’s clear he’s added nothing this season, either as player or coach.1 point

Like the Scottish Cup final in 1969, I've never really got over the loss to Hibs in the 2016 final. Sunday will go some way to putting that right. I have little fear about the result, in fact we may win by a surprisingly large margin.1 point
