None according to Ross Wilson's interview! Says Gio will be at the game but in stands rather than dug-out. Gio must have some amount of MyGers points to get a ticket at this late stage.2 points

Whatever the circumstances of Gerrard's leaving, I believe we should take enormous encouragement from the way the club has responded, both in terms of the outcome and the professionalism with which the process was conducted. Rangers has come a long way under this board and I feel we're stronger for the events of the last fortnight.2 points

I hope the players are as delighted as we are. As they are now playing to impress him, I expect a dazzling display on Sunday.2 points

Fantastic news! Welcome home Gio. Well done to Ross Wilson and co for all their efforts. Securing a new manager within a week or so, and leading the media a fine merry dance in the process! ?2 points

Well, well, a Rangers' Manager who speaks like Steve McLaren, and is named after 23 popes. Whodda thunk it?2 points

Yes. I thought the same when I saw it. Quite a nice touch. Both his boys are huge bluenoses!1 point

“Michael Beale @MichaelBeale Congratulations and good luck to Gio, @The_real_Gio the staff and the players - excited to see the team play & develop under his leadership” Despite his departure Beale seems to get it. Perhaps investing for the future?1 point

We became stale under gerrard, that was plain to see. Every week we hoped wed click but as the weeks went on i think even gerrard knew himself that it wasnt going to happen. Im more than comfortable with our new manager and am looking forward to playing a more direct brand of football and hopefully giving some youth players a chance as well. Big question will be though, will he keep tevenier as captain?1 point

I think he might need a Work Permit. The Grand Lodge of Scotland will surely crowbar this through in short order.1 point

This is excellent news. The influx of fresh faces should stimulate what has been a flat first team squad and hopefully get them on their toes again.1 point

Whilst having tactical influence and / or a Scottish presence would have been nice, we have Gio, Jean-paul Van Gastal and Roy McKaay (finally!). I'm excited by these appointments.and impressed by Ross Wilson's interview and diligence regarding the process of replacing SG. I have faith in Gio and his team and positive all of the Rangers family will get behind them. I had hoped for an "upgrade" and whilst there is risk surrounding any appointment, this his the makings of an upgrade. To coin a phrase - Let's Go.1 point

Agreed, anyone saying that this took too long doesn't really get how these things can't get rushed through in a day or so - no way did Gerrard get that Villa thing done in a day.1 point

What a great interview. Really impressed by Ross Wilson. I would rather lose Gerrard than lose him!1 point

Let’s be fair. It’s quite an achievement for a club to be simultaneously rancid and comical.1 point

Exciting times. Let's hope we get the new manager bounce just when we need it.1 point

It's all effectively done - just an issue over any possible work permit/visa which may keep him out of the country temporarily.1 point

It is a disgrace. What bullshit are we talking about though?1 point

If you had said to me when we were getting pumped out of Europe by the minnows of Luxembourg, or horsed by the beggars again, that our next 2 managers would be Gerard and then Gio, I'd have expected you to be sectioned quite frankly. Never know whats round the corner! ?❤1 point

Oh, stop teasing us Rangers and just announce Bazza and Boab1 point

If Purslow is giving Gerrard the war chest being touted in the press, I doubt he'll lower himself to shop for bargains at Ibrox.1 point

Aribo, Kamara and Kent are the obvious players for Gerrard to want to sign - I say that without knowing much about the current Villa squad. Of those three, I think Kent would be the biggest loss to us as we've seen from how we've played when he's nee unavailable or unfit.1 point
