I schooled with Lulu's sister, Edwina and the family are solid. I watched a two hour documentary 20 years past, Jools Holland was hosting a take on early British Blues. We are talking early sixties, on the cusp of the Beatles. Contributors were Tom Jones, Van Morrison, Chris Farlowe, Mick Fleetwood, Al Green .... etc. They talked about the the best interpreters and players. It was agreed the Female contribution was on the light side, obvious exceptions being Dusty Springfield, Kiki Dee, Elkie Brooks, ..... Anyways, the Toms, Vans, Als ..... all agreed the one that could do it live was Lulu, check out her interpretation of , 'To Sir with Love'. Lulu opened the Edmiston Club, the Club should invite her back to open the new Edmiston when opened. A night of Blues with Lulu -sounds good and most appropriate.5 points

For as long as we play in Scotland I think that's all we'll ever get with the majority of players and managers. That ambition should help them do the best possible job for the club they're at though. The thing is, what you need to have is a DOF in place and the supporting infrastructure so that when a manager does leave, you can quickly get someone new in who shares the same goals & mindset so its not a wholesale "rip everything up and start again". It feels to me like we're nearly there - albeit we need to trim the squad and add a couple of quality players. I might be remembering this wrong, but was GVB not one of the players who admitted when he came here to play, that his ambitions were to play in England? But he was pretty honest and open about it? Maybe it was someone else from that group of players.3 points

What do you expect? A minute by minute update on discussions related to a new manager? IMO, this has been planned for a while. It's too coincidental that this all happens during an international break.2 points

I love Ryan Kent and on his game he is really special and a match winner and there is a but. He lacks consistency, can fall out of games and for all his possession the end product can be poor. I am not sure he would be a success in the PL. Having said all of that I don't want to lose him.2 points

I don’t approve of this sort of thing. It’s timmish. But since I’m on, Gary Player. And Ian Botham.2 points

I would say Potter's career is comparable with Knutsen. Both have led smaller Scandanavian teams to European football with a clear vision and progressive football.2 points

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but I can't see a single thing that Kjetil Knutsen has done to warrant promoting him for the Rangers job. A fairly average management career in another footballing backwater. Do we really need another Ronny Deila?2 points

I don't see that being frustrated about Gerrard leaving and stripping the club almost all backroom staff means that you're playing the victim. When do Rangers managers voluntarily leave with their backroom staff? We're top of the league, still with a great chance of getting out the European group stage and our next game is a SF, and yet we've been "pish" and if we carried on like we have been everyone would be calling for Gerrard to go? Who is coming up with conspiracy nonsense? If you feel that we are better off with Gerrard leaving, why weren't you calling for his sacking?2 points

I actually much prefer the way we have been dealing with our business! the Scottish gutter press have no idea what is happening with Rangers!1 point

Frankly, what Gerrard does from now on is of absolutely no interest to me.1 point

Not sure what you want them to say. The likes of H&H and FF dish out anything remotely relevant, albeit often in a vague manner.1 point

Gerrard's only 41. I'm unsure why people think he needs to get the Liverpool job so soon. He could manage four or five other clubs before he gets his dream job. Not that I'm bothered, either way.1 point

Gio Van Bronckhorst to Rangers to be announced within the next 24 hours. Deal completed tomorrow.1 point

Regards the move if it was for family reasons, fair enough,as missing your off-spring growing up is not something you would wish. Therefore if Gerard makes a mess of things at Villa, which would hinder a higher move in the future,it might be the case he will just have to walk away from the game and being a wealthy man there would be no financial worries to stop him.1 point

As for Kamara and the rest they will all have their price and some will probably need to be punted to try and balance the books ,which makes it imperative we win this years league to gain that champions league spot and enter the cash tournament.1 point

We seem a bit light on the celebrity fans compared to the other lot with their Connollys and Stewarts. Sure I heard that Kirsty Young and her hubby were bluenoses.1 point

Agree 100% about Lampard. His team's had zero identity as far as I could see.1 point

Why wait? We need to be ahead of the game here and not wait until he's beyond our reach. He's very progressive from what I've read and he's current. Gio hasn't managed at a good level for over 2 and a half years. Is the Norwegian a risk? Of course he is but so is every managerial appointment.1 point

I don't mean experience in terms of longevity in the game -- that was the wrong word -- but a track record of being able to coach a side into playing a certain way. That could be as simple as over a couple of clubs, or youth jobs, or perhaps over a rebuild, like Farke did at Norwich in their Championship seasons. I see what you mean, though. I'm coming around to that way of thinking. @ascender made a good point too, suggesting that an inexperienced manager is not a bad thing if we have the DoF model, as we do. For me, any new manager has to show they can coach a system of play, and that's irrespective of experience. It's because of that I don't want Lampard, because I don't see a recognisable style in his teams. Derby and Chelsea were a bit bland, and dependent on individuals.1 point

Agreed but experience can be somewhat overrated in some cases. Especially if their most recent "experience" is generally mediocre. For example, Scotland recently got Alex McLeish in due to his "experience". Most of the good things that McLeish created happened about 13/14 years ago. Everything after that was negative and riddled with over fussy and reactionary football. Let's not forget SG had no experience whatsoever and in one season gave us an identity. Was it perfect? No. But it was a far cry from the Tims skelping us by 4/5 goals and getting beat by some no marks for Luxembourg.1 point

I don't call him a snake or a rat. His motives are irrelevant. All that is relevant is the impact of his actions on the Club.1 point
