  1. There are also odds on Ant and Dec, so... In all seriousness, you couldn't stand in his way. That would be a huge forward step for him. However, with the money the new Newcastle owners have, there are bigger, more established names that would be more likely, surely? Steven Gerrard 3/1 (SkyBet) Graeme Jones 11/2 (Paddy Power) Chris Wilder 11/2 (Paddy Power) Antonio Conte 5/1 (Betfair, Paddy Power and William Hill) Eddie Howe 6/1 (SkyBet) Rafa Benitez 8/1 (BetVictor) Roberto Martinez 10/1 (Paddy Power) Frank Lampard 10/1 (Paddy Power) [...] Ant and Dec 250/1

  2. Hibs/Hearts fans etc. most are probably it is an element within ALL clubs that cause problems as do ours.

  3. I've always viewed Hearts as a far superior club to Hibs, on the park and off.

  4. I've been to numerous games at Tynecastle and been able to walk along the road with groups of Hearts fans and there was never any trouble. I wouldn't have dreamt of ever doing that with Hibs fans, who were often looking to jump us after games. I also don't believe that Hearts fans would run onto the pitch at Hampden and assault our players.

  5. Pretty sure it won't be anyone on that list. They're clearly going to aim a lot higher.

  6. Absolutely right. I remember standing on the terraces at Pittodrie in the 1960's, with no segregation, and there being no animosity at all. It went all to shit at some point in the 1970's when bottle-chucking and hardhats became the norm but it wasn't until after Ferguson gave them a modicum of success that their current sense of thwarted entitlement arose. They've fostered their grievance as a substitute for trophies ever since.

  7. I think so too, but, then again, I can't see a Conte or Zidane going there to build them up, so to speak.

  8. I would imagine Newcastle will go for someone more experienced like Conte

  9. What's happened to super-duper modern manager of men, Neil Lennon? Lenny knows Newcastle, I saw footage of him falling out of several Nookie Broon bars back in early Spring.

  10. I think it's unlikely, but who knows? I would imagine they would be going for someone with managerial experience in either England or the continent. Rodgers is a possibility or maybe Zidane?

  11. I'd be very disappointed, given what he's said, if he decided on Newcastle. If it was Liverpool, then he would go with my blessing, as that is where his heart is.

  13. I don't recall any real hatred between us and the sheep prior to the Simpson tackle on Durrant.

  14. Aberdeen is a bit of a sore subject for the nationalists. Oil was central to their argument yet Aberdeen city was 58.61% no and Aberdeenshire 60.36% no. I do imagine yes voters are heavily over-represented in their support though. The No voters would have been working people.

  15. Controversial. I do occasionally frequent forums of Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen to see what their views are on us and them. Aberdeen are totally different to the other two, they have made hating Rangers their sole purpose in life without realising it. Hibs and Hearts fans obviously don’t like us but they’re generally fine, nothing unexpected.

  16. Kelly played very well. Can't understand why he is not higher up the pecking order for us. Middleton, I think, may actually offer more than Wright.

  17. More time to pay back the debt ??? ? The question that should be getting asked is why Whyte was allowed to build the debt up in the first place. And over a period of 6 month. Most other clubs didn’t get more than a month before HMRC came calling once they’d defaulted Was it to allow the debt to get to an amount so as to allow HMRC to block the CVA? looks that way to me. hopefully to BDO too.

  18. I wish we won every game with a dodgy penalty and the opposition getting players sent off. I love their whining, toys out the pram routine and most of all, the pain - it's all thoroughly enjoyable.
