Our form has been poor but some of the reactions are OTT. Players don't go from being great to useless that quickly. Same with tactical formations. The lack of intensity and desire is what concerns me.

The same defence were part of the team that won their EL group last season, but they're out their depth at that level? ?

We really need to break out of this lethargy we are playing just now , we need to up the tempo when we play high tempo , no one can lay a glove on us , that we are getting dragged into these brutal dig fights is mental . Given that Dundee never really threatened bar a couple of headers , we need and can do so much better , Thursday is going to be massive for us .

Aribo strike secures three points for far from invincible Rangers A first-half strike from Joe Aribo secured three points for Rangers and a first win at Dens Park for Steven Gerrard on Saturday, but it was yet another performance which provided strong evidence that Rangers are some way off their invincible form of last season. The foul came from a long ball played by Max Anderson which Connor Goldson misjudged, allowing Paul McMullan to run in on goal to be fouled by Jon McLaughlin. Bobby Madden was left with no option but to award the spot kick, McMullan and the home support also appealed loudly for McLaughlin to see red - the double-jeopardy rule, however, meant only a yellow was forthcoming. The defending from Goldson was yet another example of some within the Rangers squad struggling to reach the heights of last season, with him and James Tavernier in particularly having an uncomfortable afternoon defensively. Former Rangers striker Jason Cummings, who had replaced Griffiths in the first-half, stepped up to take the spot kick, but hit his shot at the legs of McLaughlin – allowing the the Rangers keeper to gather the ball safely after an initial failed attempted to punch the ball clear. The incident enraged Dundee manager James McPake, who was red carded at full time for protesting over-zealously. When asked if he felt McLaughlin should have been on the pitch to face the penalty, he was blunt in his response. "In my opinion, no. I know the rule is if you make a genuine attempt, and people will disagree and say it's a genuine attempt. "But Paul McMullan is clearly by him and the leg comes out. If it's Adam Legzdins would my answer be different? Probably not.” For Rangers and Steven Gerrard focus now switches to the trip to Prague on Thursday night in Europa League. "We came here for three points. No-one will remember how we got them, and I've also managed to keep people fresh for Thursday, so a lot of positives to take away." Three points was indeed the objective for Rangers here, but improved performances are required if they want to secure a second successive title. So no mention of being top of the league, some thing we didn't achieve until beating Celtic at Parkhead last season (If I remember correctly). Again, no recognition of the major disruption to pre-season (players coming back late from international duties) or the impact of Covid and injuries? In the league cup it was Livingston and Dunfermline we have beaten thus far, and the old adage is, you can only beat what's in front of you. We are miles away from CL quality, no shame in admitting that. However coming from the brink of oblivion to EL quarter final in a decade is some achievement. Malmo was a dissapoitmemt no doubt, but Lyon are way above our standard, out of our league both quality wise and financially. I've been lucky that I've seen many Rangers teams winning league titles, none and I repeat none played outstanding football every game. I remember the panttwetting on here when we dropped points at Hamilton, Motherwell, Livi, Hibs et-al last season. ALL succesfull Rangers teams Ive been lucky to have seen have struggled at certain times through the season, and most got their arses handed to them in Europe (a few notable exceptions). As for formations, tactics, players positions, I'll trust SG, Macca and their staff to sort things out. As long as we still sit atop the SPFL and the end of the season, I for one will be a happy Bear and will have forgotten about a shit game at Dens Park (or wherever our next shit game is).

Ill cut kent some flack here as hes taking the brunt of our poor form. Aribo kamara roofe and davis as well mainstays in the team get picked every week and underperform. Our manager called the team out after malmo and then continued to play the same team and failing tactics week after week and like most fans hoped it would better. As we can all see its not. Craig Moore was right. We have a team of squad fillers and a lack of quality. It was no surprise that malmo humbled us and on our current form well be lucky to win a game in the Europa league this season. Ive always thought our defence in particular was well out of its depth for CL and as the Lyon game showed theyre no better in the Europa. They may have done well in the league last season but we conceded heavily in Europe. The warning signs were there. Wherw would i start? Start playing aribo in his proper position as we dont get the best out of him in the midfield. Move hagi back into the midfield as i think much like aribo we dont get the best out of him in an an attacking position. I would also change the formation to accommodate 4 in the midfield either 4 4 2 or 4 1 4 1 formation but we all know that wont happen. I do know that hoping "things will get better "doing what we are doing wont get us anywhere. Something does need to change. That is a fact.

I don't disagree, but I think you're missing a step. We play with two strikers anyway. The issue is player positioning midfield to front and through the lines.

I think this run of poor form is more than long enough to merit a change in formation now. Not that the formation is the problem, just that history shows that a change in formation can freshen things up for a team in the doldrums. I’d like to see 2 up front.

In three years and a bit, I don't think I have witnessed such an error strewn Gerrard Rangers team? Including pre season friendlies, we have played just over 20 games. We have notched up 14 competitive matches. The only game I have left/watched where I have felt I viewed Rangers was the Real Madrid friendly. We are all hoping, even saying it will improve. However, despite being top of the league I feel we are NOT playing. The ball goes forward and there is no venom among our forwards. We are not winning fouls on the edge of the opposition box. Today, we managed three free kicks in and around Dundee's penalty area. There is a huge gap between the midfield and the front three. Our exploitation of the opposition by our wing backs has almost become warm nostalgia. Tav' hit the bye-line once today. I could go on but, it's another three points and hopefully we improve in Prague. We must.
