No, it wasn't you that suggested he was a liar. There probably was some political side to his comments but I also feel that it wasn't solely political. However the guy has made comments that I believe are helpful for our club and it's disappointing that the first reaction for some is to express cynicism rather than gratitude that a politician has put his head above the parapet. If you, as a Rangers supporter, are happy for the continued unanswered assault and lies on our club by the SNP and you don't welcome anyone trying to highlight the lies and that we aren't receiving parity then that's disappointing and not something that I can relate to. I'm surprised that Rangers fans' conflicting views include those who are sticking up for the club, but perhaps there are some who let their political views override the best interests of the club. To use the excuse that we (and I include Fraser in that) shouldn't fight back because it creates "sides" and that none should exist is just giving in and allowing those who hate us freedom to do whatever they want to us. You may rile against someone trying to pigeon hole us. It's just a shame you don't have the same attitude when it comes to lies and unfair treatment.7 points

I really don’t understand why all the wailing , gnashing of teeth and self abuse is coming from ,apart from last year , traditionally we never start like a rocket , and as has been posted elsewhere unlike previous years we haven’t had a set of Euro qualifiers to bed us in , every team will go through a rocky patch , calm down troops .5 points

Obviously only in football for the money now not as an escape from the humdrum poor peasants who will pay through the nose to see him where ever he goes. Okay football is a short career for most but how many millions do these superstars need to see them through their life???.2 points

Hate to be the harbinger of doom but the last few games have followed many of our games in the second half of last season. There were many games at the start of 2021 were we genuinely struggled to create chances. It is worrying. Oh and I agree with regards the make up of our midfield. If Lumstrom and Davies are playing together, Kamara has to move forward and be more constructive. It's clear now why we were looking at the Dutch boy.2 points

we have started this season very slowly and the cost could be very high if we don't improve really soon.2 points

Only a wee bit? It was cringeworthy. Don't remember Ronaldo blubbing when leaving Real Madrid, then again he truly was the worlds best player over recent years............ discuss not again!!!!1 point

IMO we met two teams in these last games who did not park the bus and found us wanting,so hop fully the analyses of these games will sort out something for Tuesday.1 point

The one thing that makes our line-up yesterday more plausible was that we might want to keep Itten, Wright, Hagi and Co. unscathed and fit for Malmö, as this will be a far more important game for the club than 3 points at the start of the season. Let`s hope we come out all guns blazing for that game.1 point

There will always be an overreaction when we lose. Losing two on the trot is viewed as a mini crisis at Rangers. It's all a bit ridiculous but that's just the way it is.1 point

Did I call him a liar? I don't think I did. Forgive my cynicism, it's from my personal experiences and if yours have been different then I'm envious of you. Politician saying things for political reasons is hardly the libel of the year, but if you feel Murdo Fraser was hoping to achieve something altruistic I'd be interested in knowing what that is? I remain open-minded, believe it or not. My final point, about the 'Ulsterfication' of Scottish politics, was simply my opinion on the descent of political discourse across the UK in recent years. Nationalism now dominates at every level of politics. Rangers supporters seem to be getting dragged into that, whether we want to or not. Fraser's article is, I assume, a riposte to some of the articles, comments and reactions to our supporters over the last few months. I understand why many might welcome that. I don't really because I feel it simply further entrenches this attempt top create 'sides', where I don't feel any should exist. We're a football club with a huge support that encompasses many conflicting views on every topic, I rile against anyone trying to pigeon-hole us. See, I can be cynical and naive at the same time!1 point

Just watched the Press conference. A wee bit OTT. No one has died ffs. Wouldn't it be great if he turned round and said don't worry. I've got all the money I need so I'll play for free over the next 2/3 years? Why go to PSG if it's not for money? Disappointed if this happens1 point

I think we missed Roofe yesterday. The lack of creative players in the team and on the bench was a concern. Aribo was the only player who looked capable of creating something. Kent was poor on Tuesday and yesterday. The reason he is still at Rangers is his inconsistency and it looks like he's hitting another dry spell.1 point

If only we could play Real Madrid every week. It was inevitable we'd hit a patch of poor form after last season where we rarely put a foot wrong, every club goes through them eventually. There's a mindset change required in our team, we're no longer chasing, we're now being chased and that requires an adjustment mentally. I suspect there are other issues in the squad that we're not fully aware of too. There have been a few hints at Covid cases with players and it might be these have been more disruptive than we realise. I'm less concerned about 3 points being dropped in the league than I am about Tuesday's match. Our late goal in Malmo helped disguise an uninspired performance against a well organised but ordinary side, indeed the type of European side we've excelled in playing in recent seasons. An unfavourable result on Tuesday will see some pressure being applied to the players and management, as ridiculous as that sounds. Those of us who have been watching Rangers for a long time know our support, magnificent at times, will quickly forget about last season's heroics should this season start poorly. As Richard Gough once said at Rangers you're only as good as your last pass. I feel Kent is working hard but things don't seem to be coming off for him just now and our full backs aren't yet hitting their stride. That's such an important part of our style of play when it's not fully firing others need to step up. Hopefully we'll respond like Champions to this and start showing the side we know is there on Tuesday.1 point

With the squad so unsettled and too many key players clearly distracted, it's stretching the imagination to see us reaching the CL group stages. If we can't show more guile and endeavour than in the last 2 games then Tuesday will likely be a further disappointment. We've seen this slow-start movie many times in the past.1 point

So we are down to the bare bones of stats now? You saw the line up today and thought that would be enough for Dundee United then? Before the game I wrote: As with previous seasons, you look at the line-up and see lots of workers, but the lethal, goalscoring bit, will again rests on the shoulders of a single striker and the hope that Aribo and Kent provide an end product to their work. There`s a reason we "only" won 11 league games by 1 goal, 6 more by 2 goals and drawing 6 more. I know it is lamenting on a high level, but the stats remain and we all remember these dire affairs of teams sitting deep and we toil along to break them up. Not sure whether some people`s memories are short, but today was exactly as those games mentioned above, dire affairs of toil. Quite a few of those 1-goal-wins happened when we brought a 2nd striker on. Yes, when we started the scoring early and teams opened up, we occasionally beat them handsomely, that 8-0 vs Hamilton will have blown the stat up a bit too. But help yourself to the game threads of last season and much of those will include "job done, no more no less". No smug comments will change that, nor will they help us improve games against Scottish opposition.1 point

There’s no denying that it has been a bit of a worrying start to the season tbh. Preseason was badly disrupted and we are already having bad luck with our players (Roofe, Hagi, Jack). Scott Wright very unlucky not to start, or get on sooner. For Malmö I think he should come in for Lundstram with Aribo moving back one.1 point

The fans are paying good money to watch and follow them so they are perfectly entitled to give them hell for displays like today and last Tuesday.1 point

It's not the same thing. There were some Rangers-supporting Labour politicians, and some who were not Rangers fans were still willing to help the club. There are no Rangers-supporting SNP politicians and none that are willing to help us. It's a sad indictment of the Rangers support when a politician does something positive for us and is met with claims of cynicism. When they get met with unsubstantiated claim that they're a liar or that claims they're only doing it for political reasons from our own support, is it any wonder? I'm not sure about the relevance other than to have another veiled dig at Fraser and his party. With friends like us....1 point
