  1. The big point here is how Rangers are exposing the SPFL how corrupt & incompetent they are, the other big thing here is how/why all the other clubs are terrified of challenging the bias corrupt cabal!!, Scottish football is fucked and has been since the attempt to kill Rangers and the witch hunt continues on Rangers. Since the day Rangers were voted out of the top division Scottish football was fucked, the only thing I kept saying is we need to start winning again, being successful, this is the only way we can change things! I still believe that, we have made astonishing progress under SG and that is killing all the Rangers hating Scottish clubs and Scottish gutter press!. Rangers FC just need to keep on winning, the more success we have the stronger we will be and the more pressure we can apply to the corruption that is rife in Scottish football and indeed Scotland including the Scottish gutter press. It is a wonderful time to be a Rangers fan, especially after what we have had to endure these last 10 years or so. Just keep being successful Rangers.

  2. The following is a great post from Valley Bluenose on FF, and hopefully it will be of assistance to the bears on here too. Official - The Great Big Bumper Thread of RangersTV Advice | FollowFollow.com The Malmö away match is now available to purchase for those overseas or 'overseas' at a cost of £7.99. Take care you don’t purchase the Home tie by mistake as a couple of posters have done. New season, so time for a ‘refresh’ on how to make it all work. All instructions below are for desktop/laptop. Whatever device you use for your viewing, I’d recommend using the website rather than the (poor) App. That’s not always possible if you want to cast though. Using a TV browser is at your own risk, many are not up to the task. I still can’t get the App to launch on Fire TV Stick either but Silk browser works for me. 1. The away game against Malmo is available on Premier Sports but for those – the majority hopefully – who want to give their money to the Club you can view it on RangersTV provided you are overseas or have access to a VPN to make it appear you are overseas. I won’t go into what a VPN is too much because we’ve covered it often but if anybody wants more info just ask. 2. If using a VPN, I would always recommend a good quality paid-for VPN. The Club have links with NordVPN and they are as good as it gets, especially if you are going to be using it long-term. There are others out there. For a one-off use there are options such as Opera, which is free, but they tend to have drawbacks. Any VPN will slow down your connection and can lead to buffering. A free/cheap VPN will generally slow it down more than a good quality one such as NordVPN. https://nordvpn.com/rangers/?utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term&utm_content&utm_campaign=off15&utm_source=aff52169 Buying the Match 3. If you don’t have the Unlimited (overseas) subscription then you need to PPV. You can only purchase matches via the website and not via the App. Apple/Google get a 20%+ slice of the pie for in-App purchases so it’s not viable for the club. 4. Switch on your VPN and set it to a location overseas. Ideally select a location near to the UK. France, Belgium, The Netherlands are all favourites of mine. These will generally have lower latency that areas further afield, i.e. they will be ‘quicker’. 5. To check that its worked, if you want to, click on the following link. It should show you as located in the country of your choice. https://whatismyipaddress.com/ 6. Go to the RangersTV Home page. Do NOT login. Click on any button that says Subscribe or Buy Match Pass. This will bring up a page of options available for purchase by overseas users. This will include the upcoming game. Click to purchase the game and the purchase process will take you through Login as part of the payment process. Don’t worry about any messages regarding an existing subscription just click through them (unless you actually have Unlimited LOL). You do not need a UK address or UK bank details to purchase. Once your purchase is made you can relax and wait until about an hour before kick-off time. Viewing the Match 7. If you have turned it off, go back and turn on your VPN and set it to your location of choice (France, Belgium etc). Normally, around 1 hour before the match (though sometimes it’s much less) the Watch Live button will appear on the RangersTV Home page. https://www.rangers.co.uk/tv#/ 8. Go to the RangersTV Home page (with your VPN set to overseas) and Login. When the Watch Live button appears (sometimes it goes red) click on it. If the stream is ‘live’ you will normally get the placeholder page for Erskine from about 1 hour before kick-off. ‘Moving pictures’ generally appear about half an hour before kick-off, though this can vary. If you cannot find the game, scroll down to the section headed RangersTV Latest and the game should appear in there. 9. To make sure you get sound, either roll your mouse over the top left-hand corner of the video window and click on Unmute when it appears – or simply go to the Enlarge icon in the bottom right and go Full Screen, which will unmute automatically. 10. At this stage, to help reduce any buffering, I’d also click on the Settings icon in the bottom right of the video panel and change it from Auto to 1080P. If you encounter buffering after this then try dropping it down another step to see if it helps. In extreme times, Tranmere game was one, the stream became unwatchable due to buffering. In that instance I pulled the bottom slider bar back by roughly 2 minutes and pressed Play. No more buffering but, of course, I was a few minutes behind ‘live’. Hopefully we never need to do that again. 11. Keep an eye on FollowFollow. Generally, someone will post ‘live now’ or ‘moving pictures’ or similar. If your screen doesn’t reflect that then simply Refresh your browser. One final point, please, please make sure you do not login on more than 1 device at a time. If you do, you risk having your Account blocked and will need to go down the Forgotten Password route. If you are in the habit of leaving yourself logged in of the App, for example, make sure you logout of the App before trying to login via your browser. When done watching, logout and turn off your VPN. That’s it. Happy viewing - or Lets’ Go (Again) as Stevie G would say.

  3. Our goal at the end changes the tie but I’m concerned about the lack of clear cut chances we created tonight. They were a big strong physical team who played three CB’s but we tried putting in high balls too often particularly in the second half

  4. Aye, we've struggled in Europe playing 4-3-3 for last 2 or 3 seasons...... Formation wasn't the issue, our players not performing to their usual standards was the major issue. We play to our full potential and we defeat Malmo.

  5. we were the better team but we didn't make that count and created nothing first half. then we were awful for 5 mins and they punished us. then we were better again and got a goal we deserved to have a good chance here.

  7. A very tricky match ahead and, like others have said, not a huge amount of options on the bench but we should still have enough to bring back a good result tonight. I'm am worried that we don't have the likes of Morelos and Kamara available but we have to be able to cope with such losses if we're to show ourselves as a big side worthy of being in the CL. Go on and do it, lads!

  9. I remain a little puzzled by this. The £100k commission is fairly standard in that industry, it sounds a lot but in terms of the £8 million figure that's being reported as the value it's not and if the SPFL agreed to use a third party again that's not unusual in that industry. Cinch are owned by British Car Auctions who also own We Buy Any Car and are being used as a vehicle (pardon the pun) to sell many of the cars they buy through 'We Buy Any Car'. There is more profit in selling directly to the consumer than to the trade, it's simple business. The established car industry isn't over the moon about this but the lines in the traditional car industry have been blurring for years now. I struggle to accept that's what our gripe is with this. Does this deal perhaps preclude us from attracting another motor brand as a shirt sponsor? Maybe, but we've a betting sponsor currently while playing in competitions sponsored by Ladbrokes, it's not new to see competitive sponsors involved. Maybe it's the value and length of the sponsorship that's at issue. It's hard to tell just now if this is good value or not. The implications of Covid on the economy are still to be felt. Certainly the feeling that the SPFL and SFA haven't sold Scottish football at its proper value to TV and sponsors is one I share, but their 'bird in the hand' argument is valid and might yet prove right. There is growing political pressure to exclude betting firms from shirt sponsorship and advertising. It seems likely this will happen, and it might be Rangers are working to secure a new non-gambling shirt sponsor. Again, I would have thought the best and highest profile club in the country sporting a rival brand to cinch would have upset Cinch more than Rangers. This might simply be another attempt by Rangers to disrupt and challenge the SPFL. I suspect fans of a number of clubs don't see them as fit for purpose and this might be political expediency. Shining the media spotlight on Doncaster and the commercial deals will lead to extra pressure on him. Rangers might have taken the temperature of some other clubs too and feel they have some backing on this. Celtic, the SPFL's main backers are in chaos currently and at their weakest in years, it might be that the timing is good.

  10. Routine victory provides early signs that Rangers have the Wright stuff If there is any truth in the old adage that a side who churns out victories whilst not at their best is a sign of a championship winning side, then Rangers provided strong evidence on Saturday that they will be the team to beat this season. On a day when supporters were allowed back into Ibrox for a competitive game for the first time since 12 March 2020, and the visit of Bayer Leverkusen, the hosts provided plenty of evidence that they will take some stopping, despite looking a bit sluggish for long periods of the game. The moment of the match came with twelve minutes to go when Scott Wright curled a sublime effort with the outside of his right foot past Max Stryjek in the Livingstone goal, to all but secure the points. The former Aberdeen player has impressed since his move to Ibrox in January, and much is expected of him this season from manager Steven Gerrard. "Scott probably deserved to start the game but we have got four games in 10 days so I am going to need him to be ready”, said Gerrard after the game. "He came on for Ianis Hagi, but we are hoping he is going to pull through and be okay, but Scott has taken his chance - I thought he came on, was direct, was quick, played a lot of penetrating passes and scored a wonderful goal and that is the part of the game we are on his case over as we want him to keep getting numbers in his game and be a killer in the box and he was today.” Hagi had come off after a crunching and rather naughty tackle from Adam Lewis, but the Romanian didn’t leave proceedings without making a huge contribution in scoring the opening goal after only eight minutes. The Romanian controlled a Tavernier free-kick superbly at the back post, as he shaped to shoot he took out what felt like the entire Livi defence before shooting high into the net from close range to give Rangers the early lead they and the 23,000 supporters had craved. The return of supporters at Ibrox could not be understated, and the frustration of the last few months during lock down was audible in the roar which greeted Hagi’s opener. Everyone involved with the club is praying that this is just start start of a more normal matchday experience. Prior to kick-off both sets of players took the knee in the continued fight against racism. On Friday afternoon, James Tavernier had written an open letter to supporters telling them that the players would "take the knee to stand against racism, nothing more, and nothing less.” That message appears to have gotten through with the overwhelming majority of the crowd applauding in support when both sets of players took the knee. There was also a minutes silence prior to kick off for former Rangers captain Ally Dawson, who died last week at the age of 63. Dawson made 315 appearances for the club, and captained the side for two of his six major honours. Dawson was the very epitome of a real Rangers man, joining the playing staff straight from school in 1975 at the tender age of 16 and staying with the club for twelve seasons. He was introduced to the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2011. The side selected by Gerrard suggested he had one eye on the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday, but it also gave a hint to the strength and depth of the squad he has amassed since arriving three years ago. There were no places for Alan McGregor, Filip Helander, Borna Barisic or Scott Arfield – with only McGregor of that group making the bench. When you consider that Ryan Jack and Alfredo Morelos are still to come back into proceedings, you can see just how strong Rangers are at the moment. Fashion Sakala was drafted in for his first competitive start, with John Lundstram having to console himself with a place on the bench as Rangers went with a midfield three of Davis, Kamara and Aribo. Davis, yet again, showed that he is ageing like a fine wine, with yet another man of the match performance. The Northern Irishman may be 36, but he shows no signs of dropping his performance levels just yet. Calvin Bassey was also impressive on the day, covering for Barisic superbly in a back four of him, Tavernier, Goldson and Balogun. For Sakala, however, this would prove to be a frustrating afternoon, with the Zambian unable to repeat his heroics of the previous week against Real Madrid. For large chunks of the game he struggled to get going, and was replaced by Kemar Roofe on 71 minutes. It was Roofe’s introduction which re-energised Rangers, and within six minutes of his arrival they'd secured the three points with that superb Scott Wright goal. Wright instigated the move with a cross into the box. Kent collected on the penalty spot and shot, but his effort was deflected up in the air and nodded on by Tavernier to Wright, who executed it superbly. Roofe added insult to injury in the dying minutes when he reacted quicker than anyone else in the six yard box and scored the third, which put a slightly flattering look on proceedings. But even if Rangers weren’t at their best here, they never really looked like conceding on the day, with Jon McLaughlin having what most of us would describe as an easy day at the office. For Gerrard and Rangers the focus now shifts to Tuesday night and Malmo. For Gerrard, the prospect of managing in the biggest European competition will be a huge incentive. For Rangers, it will surely mark the full recovery of the club after a decade of turmoil. RANGERS: McLaughlin, Tavernier (c), Bassey, Goldson, Balogun, Davis, Kamara, Aribo, Kent, Hagi, Fashion Jr. SUBS: McGregor, Lundstram, Itten, Simpson, Patterson, Wright, Roofe. 12. Poor team selction from the off im afraid. Arfield should have been subbed at half time as well. Kent tripping over his own feet for 80 minutes wasnt pleasing on the eye either. We crossed balls in all day into the box against a 10 man Livingston defence and won none. Tonight exactly the same. Then we sub the only guy who was getting pass marks. Malmo changed their formation to 3 at the back and got instant results. I wish our manager could maybe consider this option from time to time. As for tav. ..how many more blunders is he going to make. Get Paterson in for the next leg.

  16. Some valid hypothasis that may get answered in the fullness of time. A question i have is why the SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan went public with an email that he knew would be leaked. Why not work with Rangers on their concerns like any company would and the EPL certainly would do with their clubs, why make this a Rangers versus the rest if it wasn't aimed at isolating the Gers again or bullying them to get in line? I have no problem with Gers taking advantage of the weakness of the SPFL, but why would the SPFL as an supposed professional organisation conduct this business in full view of the media if not to try to embarrass Rangers?

  17. Yes, that's what was reported at the time so this does seem like a backward step. Signing up for 6 years is the real surprise for me, I wonder if there's a break clause in it. Scottish football isn't easy to sell currently and I suspect the SPFL's desperation took any strength away from their bargaining, particularly after having no sponsor at all for a season. Ultimately it's the people in control of Scottish football who've led it to this point, you wonder when other clubs are going to realise that and demand action.

  18. Oh the pain, the pain.... it's as if a deflected goal counts as less than a "normal" goal, or not at all. Instead of rejoicing in a Scottish team keeping theirs, and the nation's CL dreams alive, they are depressed and in pain. Only in Scotland.

  19. Of course your entitled to your opinion , I even said as much , but we have been playing 4-3-3 for years now , to great success .Tonight we were poor for 5 minutes and got punished for it , do I think you were way over the top , yes , it’s half time in a 2 legged tie , we have just had the greatest season in living memory , yet you come out with that , maybe your the one that’s best keeping your opinions to yourself .

  20. Very poor from a few tonight but it is topped by TAV. Missing at first goal, poor pass in middle of field leads to another, high crosses into box highly ineffective, only wants t cross ball as in second half had chance to pass to player on his right(at least three times but sent his useless crosses nowhere). I know many will say he is the captain and shouldn't be dropped, but maybe that's what he needs.

  21. Very comfortable first half , yet 3 sloppy minutes turned the tie on it’s head , 2 nil heavily flattered this Malmo team , whom after 70 minutes were dead on their feet . SD ,s goal is priceless and no less than we deserved , we will win the 2nd leg , onwards and upwards troops , keep believing .

  22. That was pretty awful to watch. I was nervous every time they ran at our defence. We looked well off the pace. Not many positives to take from it other than they look beatable and we managed to score a hugely important goal.

  31. I think this also proves that we need to have representation on the SPFL Board. How do they get elected? It is ludicrous that the biggest club in the country is not represented. Would this happen in Spain or Italy for example?

  32. I'm not saying he isn't a very good player, but he just isn't who I'd say was the "best" player at the club. There's a few I'd have in front of him, but that's no disrespect to him. He may change my mind this season.

  33. Roofe played a massive part in our title win last season. The highest goals per minute in the team by a mile and we’ve barely even seen him fully fit. Sadly I don’t expect he’ll ever get a very long spell without injury at Rangers though.

  34. The Ladbrokes deal back in 2015 was worth 2m per season, so i'd suggest that 1.6m per season six years later is not such good value. It's all about the record breaking 8m figure for the SPFL though.
    1 point
  35. don't think that is an issue. Was the same last year, right ? Given his age he doesn't need to be listed in the CL squad but can still be used. I think that is what happened last year too.

  36. Perhaps Rangers look at what they are able to get for their sleeve sponsorship and it's more than they are getting for the higher profile Cinch sponsorship?
    1 point
  37. The reason they wrote to all clubs was to isolate Rangers again. The SPFL feel that peer pressure, isolation and bullying is the way to go. I would hope that our other sponsorship deals amount to more than the measly £8m which has to be shared not only by the 12 PL clubs, but the SPFL itself.

  38. Tom treads a fine line in objectivity and, regularly falls the wrong side. Last year, DUP MP, Sammy Wilson appeared on Sportsound to explain his reasoning for laying down an Early Day Motion reference Rangers. As Richard Gordon completed the questioning, a pent up Tom demanded, "why is he on the show"? Compare and contrast with Tom's behaviour three years past. His home county, Limerick had made the All Ireland GAA Hurling Finals for the first time in almost half a century. Tom returned home to see his club win. Limerick play in green and white hoops. A breathless Tom appeared live on BBC Radio Scotland lionising his home town heroes, a triumph of the blarney. At the same time, those players were featuring on the front pages of Irish newspapers because they chose to celebrate the trophy by belting out a rendition of 'Sean South of Garryowen'. Sean South was from Garryowen, a district of Limerick. He was a member of an IRA column that crossed the border into Fermanagh on New Year's Day 1957. They attacked a RUC station, opening fire without warning. The column was fought off, two members of the IRA were fatally wounded, including South. The retreat led to a barn where a final shoot-out occurred and, a young RC RUC Constable, John Scalley was killed. The song was penned within a week of the proclaimed patriot's death. It was said the alacrity was necessary because of the failure of the raid and to cover up South's rabid anti-semitic views. We call that seizing the narrative these days. Sean South wrote numerous letters to the Limerick Leader(owned by Tom English's family) expressing his support for Fascism and conservative catholicism. He founded the Limerick branch of, 'Maria Duce'. He was a member of an Realt - Irish speaking chapter of the Legion of Mary and Sinn Fein. Tom totally ignored this awkward and unhelpful situation, although he did say, "I am not aware the GAA has received any complaints".

  39. I remember Frankie had some engagement with Tom during the RST days. I think Tom lived in the Linlithgow area then and, was writing for the Hootsmon. He purported to be a Jambo in those days but those that knew him said it was a necessary beard. Tom English is a Yahoo.
