I loved watching Marcelo today, he was majestic and strolled the game. As Gonzo said above, shows how far we have come when we are matching and beating teams that contain the likes of Marcelo, Jovic, Isco, Rodrygo et al.3 points

I think Arsenal would pay a fair bit more than that for Odegaard. Real Madrid's reserve side should be spanking us, in all honesty. Even if we had lost today, I really enjoyed our confidence and general play. Just think where we were 3 or 4 years ago - we were awful. Today, I'm not surprised we beat a team full of bloody expensive/good players in a friendly. That's how quickly things have changed and I'm absolutely loving it. I can't wait for the season to start.3 points

Well it really was good to be back after 500 days away from the place! Even though it was an undercooked reserve side we were playing, our sharpness and intensity was clear throughout and our energy in the press was impressive on a very hot day and led to our first goal and a number of other chances (how did Kent miss from there!). Having watched most of the Tranmere game, wee bits of the Arsenal and all of the Brighton game I didn’t think we were even close to ready but on today’s showing we look just fine and credit to all involved in getting to this stage bang on time. Sakala looks impressive and may give us different options up front, and Itten continued his impressive pre-season with another strong display. Kamara purred through the game and should be our number 1 midfield pick while he is here, he is improving his game all the time and is going to be a fantastic player if he picks the right club when it’s time to move, which sadly I think might be soon. During this pre-season I don’t think we have looked as good defensively or as ruthless in attack as we were this time last year and that will of course be a slight worry but it was a very different preseason this time due to no Euro qualifying before the league campaign starts, so I think we should be fairly relaxed and trust that our management team have it all under control.3 points

Just in from the game. Delighted at the performance. Thought everyone had a great game, which is promising. A big step up from the games against Arsenal and Brighton.3 points

Very, very happy with that. Was a wee bit worried at half-time that we hadn't scored the goals our attacking play had merited but we finally took two chances after the break for a well deserved win. We really did look very sharp but, to be fair, Real are very early into their pre-season so it wasn't a huge surprise to see us look a yard or two ahead of them at times. Even so, we still had to do the business and throughout the team we did well with only the concession of a poor (though fortunate) opener cost us a more comprehensive result. Now onto the proper stuff next week.3 points

By far the best 45mins of pre-season. Madrid have just been more clinical and cynical than we have!3 points

Excellent run out there, forget the result, we showed hunger! sharpness!. Sakala looked very good and scored a great goal. The strength of our squad is superb, everyone who came on did their job. Looking good for the season ahead. Also Davis was outstanding and shows he can continue despite his age.2 points

Collum wants to make it all about him. Pr*ck.2 points

I thought that was a really good half from us.2 points

No doubting the quality of that XI (and indeed the squad in general). Lots of creative threat but I would suggest it's lacking a focal point by way of a mental wee bugger from South America. If we can get Morelos back for the CL ties in particular, then that has to be agreeable. Looks like he'll back in the country today but no idea of his isolation period.2 points

Rangers will never be able to beat Real Madrid! I was concentrating on our performance mate, I was very happy with our performance, as I said previously the result is immaterial, we seem to be ready for kick off and the pleasing thing is we played very well so I'm beginning to feel confident for the up coming season ?1 point

I seen that @ian1964 but no matter the cost of some of those squad players, that was practically a reserve side and their first preseason game with their first competitive game still a few weeks away. Marcelo was top class though and it was a delight to watch him play but with no Benzema, Courtois, Militao, Verane, Casimero, Modric, Asensio, Vinicious Bale etc there can be no question this was not anywhere close to their first choice side.1 point

Never one to read too much into friendlies but after that performance I'll be disappointed if we don't reach this season's CL Final ?♂️? Very good performance and think tonight's starting 11 will be our starting 11 next week v Livi.1 point

Good performance, great result & some bizarre refereeing from Willie Collum ?1 point

Really encouraged by that 45. Definitely ready for Livi I’d suggest. ?1 point

That was some half, Wright, Kent, Sakala all pressing high and powerful, Lundstram looks settled in too. What were that, 3 or 4 golden opportunities ... compared to their lucky* break? Not bad, hope we continue where we stopped at HT. *... because Davis` block went back onto the striker`s breast so he could carry on.1 point

We are playing like Real Madrid ?1 point

Oh my god, how did it not go in? From what I've seen of our pre-season my main concern has been the lack of cutting edge chances, we are creating really good chances today. Need to score though.1 point

Very impressed with our play so far. The only problem was we were a wee bit naive getting so many players into the attack which led right into their counter.1 point

Not going tonight but was there yesterday and didn't care what team we played just great to be back.1 point

There are no independent enquiries in Scotland. That's the whole point.1 point

Nobody seems to know, although his wife posted a picture of her at an airport, so here's hoping that's him on his way...1 point

I think he's a better player than Simpson, but he let the club down and he'd be 5th choice at best so better for the big man that he restarts his career elsewhere.1 point

I would not persist with Jones. He's not good enough. If there must be a body there, give the place to a youngster or shoehorn someone in. He does nothing. At this stage he's just after the pay slip.1 point

Looks like Edmundson has gone. I’d expect 3 or 4 others to join him from the first team squad who don’t have a future at Rangers1 point
-
Based on both last week and this week's team selections, Defoe looks to be starting in front of Itten. I hope that's not the case as Itten offers far more against better teams.1 point
-
Looks like Edmundson is off, having signed a 3-year deal with an as yet unnamed club.1 point
